Good Grief Suicide Hotline (2015)
good little film
For a low budget film, this was made really well. It had a good story line, competent camera work, and committed actors.
They Remain (2018)
Interesting and confusing choices
They remain had much more potential than it delivered. I kept waiting for something to happen and it just never fully came alive. As far as atmosphere and camera work, I could easily give it an 8. The problem is with the story or lack of story, any logic, and the choices made in the editing room.
Unwanted (2017)
Nice effort-bad story/filmmaking
This was a pretty typical run of the mill horror plot line. I get it, this has a very tiny budget, but good god there's so many problems. Bad sound, terrible color grading, uneven cinematography, and cringe dialogue weigh this down.
The camera literally shakes and moves throughout and it wasn't supposed to. Also it's very unfocused on the actors faces and can be blurry from time to time.
For the positives I will say that the lead actress (the mother) did a fairly decent job and tied her best with the material. The dad was also not too shabby.
There was some effort put into this for sure, but the final product was not great and hard to watch.
Looper (2012)
Right way to do time travel
Rian Johnson May not have been the best possibly choice for Star Wars, but when it comes to indie movies, he's always been successful.
Looper is a well made movie with lots of homage to other amazing time travel films. I loved this movie a lot and will definitely keep it on my rewatch list
District 9 (2009)
Masterpiece
I mean what can I say that other reviews haven't said yet? It's an absolute masterpiece and deserves all of the acclaim and accolades it has earned. If you are reading this review and somehow haven't seen district 9 yet, please do your self a favor and go home and watch this. You will be so glad that you did
This Little Piggy (2017)
Excellent drama
This was a very polished and well done film. I checked this out on amazon prime not too long ago and I'm very glad that I did. Not too many risks were taken with this film, but I'll sure as hell say that it held my attention the entire time!
