Three Pines (2022)
Just what we needed
It's not right to compare a tv series to a book. They can be very different and should be reviewed for their own contents. We have waited for a series that would hold our interest and begging for more. Season 2 will not come soon enough. American tv is just not note worthy, generally. We love the Native American actors and their contribution to the plot, and the authenticity it adds. Too, the little town is charming. I had thought that it would be small and impoverished, but it is fitting enough and does not distract from the plot. Perhaps an outer laying area of a poorer community could be added later, to show an area of drug abuse and alcoholism where young girls could disappear from. I am an actress and see so much that is good about the acting, writing, camera work, and the direction. This series is over the top good!
Messiah (2020)
End of your seat thrilling!
RARELY does a tv series like this show on tv in the United States. I've waited for years for something like this to come along. How can we keep it coming? Please go on to Series 2, but don't stop there. This is a fine production!

The Loch (2017)
Fabulous, 10 out of 10 series
I appreciate writers who keep me wondering. I can usually figure out who committed the crime within minutes, but I'm at a loss here. My husband and I discussed the series step by step as we tried to figure it all out. We sat down to watch the first episode and ended up watching all five. Sadly we have to wait for the next series. As a professional actress myself; I applaud the writers, actors, crew, sound, color, editors, producers... Well done!
Downton Abbey (2010)
Matthew's death
While I used to give Downton Abbey 10 out of 10 stars, I now give it 6. I read in the paper this morning that Matthew and Sybil both wanted to leave the series. I ask you why they couldn't be convinced to stay? Is the salary too low, is politics involved, is a member of the cast or crew too difficult to work with? If they had to go, why did they have to die back to back? Couldn't the script be written such that Matthew had to take an extended leave of absence and die later (yes, even during the holiday seasons). Why did the timing of the deaths have to be with the birth of the babies? This is too much! Too, I ask who is next. The show is being killed off as the characters are being killed off. I ask that this not happen again as I will then back away from what was the best series on television. There are obvious issues here that need to be dealt with in order to hold the viewers. Please do this.
White Knuckles (2010)
White Knuckles review
As a child I watched the dust appear in the sunlight coming in through the window, then dance as in a fairy tale, and slowly disappear. That is how the relationship between Julie and William appeared to me. They loved once, danced, and slowly faded. I watched this film with a group of friends, all older women who had done the same thing. Some made it through the tough times in their marriage and some didn't. We all understood. We hurt for both Julie's desperation, and William's pain. We had to wonder if the two lead actors had been there at some point in their own personal lives as they were "true" to lost love and the need for more. This film touched us all, kept us interested, and was beautifully acted. It's about time there was a film about older people's struggles. Let's see more films of this type, and more older people in films in general.
