Supernatural: Carry On (2020)
Pretty spectacularly disappointing ending
The writers were trying to please everyone and ended up pleasing almost no one. It really would have been better, in my opinion, if they had stuck to the vision of the show's creator, and not let the show stray so far from that. They put too much effort into pleasing the fans, but the fans can't agree on anything, so it felt like "design by committee". But the final episode really left the show on a disappointing note, and left the sense that the characters are just washed up and no longer "have it" anymore. The choice of the way in which Dean was killed was the opposite of epic, it's not the way a hero is supposed to die. It just seemed like the choice was to kill him, somehow, in the final episode, and then find a way to do it no matter how boring or inglorious it might be.
Nancy Drew (2019)
Don't listen to the negative reviews, it's a great show
As you can see, most all of the negative reviews here are from people who've read the Nancy Drew books. As someone who didn't read the books, I came into it with few expectations. Probably Nancy Drew never had sex in the books, and the writers quickly make it clear that 21st century Nancy Drew is not a prude. I don't see much else that is especially edgy, and I'm pretty sure that's what's bothering the older fans. But the show has so far been very good, and is first and foremost a mystery/detective show. There are mild supernatural elements, which I think are really well done. The show doesn't have any political agenda that I can see. So if you take reviews seriously, and are turned off by the number of bad reviews, I'd recommend you give it a try.
