King Kong (2005)
Great Effects, OK acting, Too long to see twice
Overall i will come out and say I enjoyed the one hour of introduction and 2 hours of effects i saw from Jackson's King Kong. Yes of course the movie had amazing jaw dropping effects and a very strong script. Yet, I must admit something wasn't their for me. Maybe it was the fact there were unnecessary and pointless story lines and scenes. Such as the African American on the boat being the father figure for the boy. I did not see the relevance of that at all. And how many people did we see on the boat on the way their at any given time yet to me it seemed like at least 100 people died on the island. And Jack Black's quote at the end of the movie " Beauty killed the Beast" and walks away. I still don't like that being the final words of the film. Other than that, Naomi Watts was stunning and amazing in her role. Adrian Brody gave a stable performances, Jack Black gave a mildly convincing job. But the movie was still entertaining for me especially on my big screen with surround sound. Yet I do not think i will be adding it to my collection because i don't see myself watching it through its three hours any time soon
Hostel (2005)
Engaged and interested the whole Film
I was not expecting much before I went in to see this film but I must say I was unexpectedly engaged. Before I continue I will let you know I am in the targeted demographic for the film being a 20 year old male. However these types of movies aren't usually made with this much thought. The director does a very good job at keeping the viewers wondering just what the hell is going on. The first half of the movie is mostly about sex and trying to get the three guys laid. But the director still finds time to get to know the characters and paint of picture of who they were before killing them off. Aside from some of the very graphic, gutwrenching seens I was still glued to the screen trying to figure out what and why this was happening. we were also learning what was happening as the characters in the film were. Overall I thought this film was very engaging, and surprisingly watchable.

Weak Plot/Storyline... But then again... Comedies do not need them
This movie was a delightful, good natured movie that i surprisingly enjoyed. Of course I went into this movie with very low standards. I am from Ohio and I was a senior in high school when this came out and what i first noticed and enjoyed about this teen comedy was that the actors were the same age and looked liked people I knew. It was not a road trip, Varsity Blues, or Cant Hardly Wait type movie where the actors could very well be in their mid 20's trying to play the role of a high school. However, this is the most accurate part of the whole film. It basically runs of Europeans stereotypes that many of Americans have. Which in my opinion makes the movie very funny. The movie is not meant to be taken too seriously and the viewers frame of mind will ultimately determine if they enjoyed. Their is a never ending barrage of jokes that flow very well with the movie and keep you laughing out loud. Including a very good feature song that is embedded throughout the movie as a constant joke. I very much enjoyed this movie and added to my DVD collection. Just don't take it to serious.
The Ringer (2005)
Weak storyline... Very funny and fun...
To be completely honest I thought the first 15 minutes was completely awful. Weak storyline and it just didn't seem to correlate with Knoxvilles character. However, If you look past that the rest of the movie is a relieving chain of laughs. The actors chemistry along with their natural humor seeps through on to the screen. Johnny Knoxville does a great job of sharing the spotlight with his fellow actors as his character does in the film. He is not to over the top as i thought he might be. Their are many funny scenes and lines in the movie that are good natured and hilarious.
