Ghost Hunters International (2008)
Good Show, but somewhat lacking....
As a loyal Ghost Hunters fan, I was really excited to learn they were doing a spin off show, doing all the cases in Europe (Leap Castle anyone?)!! I didn't care that it wasn't Jason and Grant doing it, and I was excited to see mix of old TAPS members and some new people.
I saw the first episode and enjoyed it, but as I continued to watch subsequent episodes, I realized it just wasn't the same. It doesn't have the same energy that the regular Ghost Hunters show has. The team members don't seem to have the same chemistry. No one seems to joke around, and they're all so serious when on camera. Now maybe some aren't used to being in the spot light (namely Robb and Shannon), but the others (Brian, Donna, Andy and Barry) should be pretty used to being on camera. There isn't the playfulness among them all, that TAPS has. This team is almost boring. With them it seems like it's just "Get in, Get out". It's all business, which I realize might be professional, but come on, it's a TV show, entertain a little! (I place some fault on the people who direct and produce, they should know better.)
So as much as I wanted to LOVE the show, it just isn't the same as the original. I will still watch it, as they do investigate cool places, but they need to lighten up a little and have fun!

Very Entertaining, Awesome Show!
When I first stumbled upon this show, iTunes was offering a free episode featuring Jason and Grant's 20 favorite Ghost Hunter moments. After that episode, I couldn't resist splurging on the whole season, and I was hooked! It's only gotten better! I've purchased all the seasons on DVD and watch them all the time!
I love how they treat every investigation with sincerity and professionalism, but can also have fun. The whole team has such energy and chemistry! It's awesome how they joke around all the time (like when Steve put the tiara on Tango's head...I laughed so hard I was crying!) I was really scared at first when I would watch the show, but as I've continued to see all the different locations they've investigated, and learned and understood more about hauntings in general, and I'm fine with it now. It's true that people are afraid of what they don't understand. I just hope they don't run out of places to investigate! As a science minded person, I appreciate that they actually used instruments to prove a haunting and don't base the verdict on "feelings". They stay level headed and don't get swept away in the ghost hunting frenzy.
I guess the only thing I don't like, is that sometimes they make it too commercialized. For example, the two Live episodes (Stanley Hotel and Waverly Hills) where they brought in some wrestler? Seriously, who cares about him, and why is he even there? I understand the whole market-the-show thing, but it's all just too "flashy". Just give me Ghost Hunters straight and I'm good!
