Vanished Without a Trace (1999)
Not as bad as many say
This film has a lot of bad reviews but if you are watching it because you like these kind of dramas then you will probably like it. Shelley Long is her usual self which isn't necessarily a bad thing. For me she is fitted to comedy so its always different seeing her in a role like this. This film is paced faster towards the end, and it is true you know who is involved but that didn't ruin it for me as some stuff is obvious. Its got a likable cast and seems to follow as expected for a crime in this type of town with the police following leads that Shelley longs character gives them. I was expecting this crime solving Shelley long film from the reviews I read but its not as bad as that she just follows a few informative leads as any mother would in her situation. Perfect for an afternoon movie when its raining outside and your just chilling inside the house with nothing better to do.
Dirty Love (2005)
Silly but good
I've got to respect this film, I mean it is silly and very much about physical comedy but I think the DVD box gives you that idea so you wouldn't watch it if you wanted a serious film. The acting is good, fitting for the style of film. Jenny goes full out and doesn't care how she looks which is cool, there is a great scene where she can't get her tight jeans on so is jumping up and down trying to make them fit, I love that as i've been there. There are many scenes that make you think she is just trying to be a real woman. This film made me laugh, but not only that I laughed out loud.. I was having a bad day and this really cheered me up. If you like silly go for it. Personally I thought it was great. Fair enough some scenes were over the top. But the ending was fab and it was well put together. The script seemed to flow and it had many great scenes, they don't just show you the best ones in the trailer. Worth a viewing a least. Although I bought it.
