Viduthalai Part 1 (2023)
Viduthalai - A violent and explicit masterpiece
When conflict arises between a police company and a rebel group, a young constable is forced to choose between his own ideals and loyalty to his profession. This is the basic premise. However it is much more than that.
A brutal and honest take on police brutality, what makes Viduthalai special is its willingness to show the truth in all its glory with as little censorship as possible . The background score by raja sir also enhances every scene beyond comprehension.
Last but not the least, the actors and their characters, Soori who is able to beautifully portray the character of "Kumaresan" a naive individual who soon learns that the world is not just black and white, Bhavani Sre who portrays the Character of "Tamizharasi" an innocent village girl forced to go through horrific experiences due to the cruelty of the world around her and ofcourse Vijay Sethupathi who plays the character of "Perumal" and is able to pull the audience due to his infectious charisma .
Overall , Viduthalai is a must watch if you are over 18 years of age. However ,it is best if children avoid it as it is not for the faint hearted. Viewer discretion adviced.
Joker (2019)
A brilliant character study of a mentally disturbed individual.
In my personal opinion the joker is one of the best movies of all time. Only certain people like myself, who at times are mistreated and ostracized by the society around them for no reason can relate. There is a bit of Arthur fleck in all of us,the strong itch that we get sometimes to just let lose and unleash our rage on everyone who dared to mistreat us is something a lot of people can relate to,especially the individuals who have been bullied.
Of course the movie also excels in all other categories. The acting is gutwrenching. The music is spectacular. The screenplay is excellent . The camera work and colour scheme is oddly beautiful. Will highly reccomend.
The Boys (2019)
Well executed
There have been other shows and movies which have tried to give us a realistic take on superheroes but none of them do it as well as "The Boys" does. The Show is dark, violent, gritty and sometimes even humorous. It doesn't pull any punches especially with the amount of violence being displayed. I personally think the shows biggest achievement is bringing in politics and somehow not making it seem forced like most of the shows do nowadays. The Characters are extremely well written and the show has one of the greatest protagonist-antagonist dynamics I have ever seen.
Last but not least, take a bow Anthony Starr. Anthony Starr puts on a terrifying and sometimes a downright disturbing performance as Homelander which is what the character demands. No one else could have played Homelander like he did. In fact the show wouldn't have even 50 percent as good without him. Hats off to him. Homelander will go down as one of the greatest antagonists of all time.
Shingeki no Kyojin (2013)
Spectacular
First off I wanna say despite how the manga ended the anime (as far as it has covered) has been nothing but Amazing. Who is right? Who is wrong? What is right? What is wrong? These are the questions the characters are always trying to answer. In the end no one is right or wrong. Everyone are just soldiers trying to survive the cruel world in which they were born. The Anime is especially terrifying because of how much it is able to mimic the real world and our History........
Of course last but not least, Eren Yeager. What a beast of a character and what a protagonist. Eren will go down as one of the greatest protagonists of all time despite anyone's opinion on his actions.
Vinland Saga: End of the Prologue (2019)
Spectacular conclusion
One of the greatest television episodes of all time. A spectacular and explosive conclusion to the already amazing season 1 and the greatest conclusion that the character of Askellad could have got. The episode wraps up all the character arcs perfectly and also the relationship between Askellad and Thorfinn is finally defined properly. Askellad will definitely go down as one of the most well written characters and Antagonist of all time.................A perfect conclusion which makes me (and everyone I'm sure) excited for Season 2. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us next season.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Memories of the Future (2022)
Goddamn. Jesus Christ Eren!
Best episode in season 4 part 2 so far. Perfectly explains the protagonist's actions and successfully streamlines the series and his character as a whole.
Death Note: Desu nôto: Chinmoku (2007)
This is just maximum Light Yagami.
Possibly the best episode in the series. Sad to see that L died but we all knew it was coming. The clash of the two characters with high intelligence is very entertaining to watch.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Above and Below (2021)
Bring it on ,Reiner!
Amazing episode with a tense cliffhanger. The last scene was extremely well made along with the whole episode. Yelena and Pieck are extremely well written and Eren will go down as one of the greatest anime protagonists. Aot is incredible.
Chernobyl (2019)
Just Watch it!
One of the best things I've ever watched. It is worth your time.
The White Tiger (2021)
Don't believe the butthurt negative reviews.
I see a lot of butthurt negative reviews which are most likely from right wingers. Everyone needs to understand that each country has a good and bad side. This movie has great acting but the screenplay could have been a little faster.
Soorarai Pottru (2020)
Comeback for Surya
One of the best films of Surya and best Tamil film of 2020. Top notch direction and screenplay. Only part which should have been done better is the vfx but I guess that was due to budget constraints.
Master (2021)
Better than Vijay's other films but not as good as Lokesh's other films.
Its better than many other recent Vijay films for sure but people expected it to be better than thuppaki and it surely wasn't. The actors did a good job especially Vijay Sethupathi who set the screen on fire.
Kaithi (2019)
Entertaining
Dilli, an ex-convict, endeavours to meet his daughter for the first time after leaving prison. However, his attempts are interrupted due to a drug raid planned by Inspector Bejoy
Article 15 (2019)
A movie every Indian should watch.
This film is thrilling, strongly acted and gives us a much needed social message. If you watch it you would feel like you have watched an excellent film.
Asuran (2019)
A must watch
As we all know Dhanush - Vettrimaran combo never disappoints. Even though the story of the movie is pretty normal its the screenplay and the acting especially by Dhanush is what makes it a must watch. I would add that its violent .
Naruto: Shippûden (2007)
Naruto Shippuden
You need a lot of time for this. The fillers are really frustrating. But some arcs are really good.
Banana Fish (2018)
Banana fish
The show was amazing. It is a classical masterpiece. I would recommend a certain age to watch it and it is heartbreaking. Not for the fainthearted .
Vada Chennai (2018)
Vadachennai
A young carromboard player in North Madras gets involved with the gangster underworld when he murders a guy who harrased his girlfriend.
