Culprits: Circle in a Circle (2023)
Season 1, Episode 4
8/10
Great episode, but...
12 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Who did that middle eastern rap song? I loved that addition in the show but I can't find any information about it, I mean I looked and it wasn't in the credits... But anyway I liked the series a lot even though the masks were kinda creepy looking, haha. Also Tom Mothersdale is cute. There's another twist at the end of this episode which is cool. All in all its a good show but it's kinda driving me insane about this song that I can't find haha. Maybe someone else will comment about it... Now I'm dragging this out to make it to six hundred characters, doop de doop de doo. Why has Kirby pulled a Madonna? Only one name no more surname? Interesting haha, she's a good actress.

Classic!
7 August 2023
Only 12 years before this movie Emmett Till was murdered for supposedly hooting at a white lady. So though it may seem ridiculous now, when no one asks or needs permission to marry someone, it was pretty provocative back then. It's very interesting to watch movies like this now when certain views seem to be back-sliding into hate and resentment... We need to continue watching classic movies like this to see how far we've come but also how it can get much worse if we let it.

But anyway, amazing performances even if it's not a perfect movie. And wow, Sidney Poitier was so handsome back then! I would have fallen in love with him in a few minutes or seconds too!

Loved it!
30 April 2021
Love the casting and love it all, really. There may be some differences between this and the books, but I think it's still great.

Also, am I the only one who was reminded of the Megaloceros Giganteus after seeing the CGI deer? Or am I just a nerd? Haha.

Silly but entertaining!

Warning: Spoilers
If they didn't have the CGI cat I'd have given it more points. But anyway, I'll watch anything with Milla in it, good or bad. I'm guessing there will be more of these soon too, haha.

Interesting Twists, But Overall Meh
1 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It starts off pretty lame, with all the boring horror cliches. Then there's an interesting twist, and someone gets some comeuppance that I think is deserved. But then it gets dumb again... Some interesting ideas and Matthew Modine might make it watchable for some. The ending is also not too shabby. Though overall I'd give it a grade of "meh" or so-so.

Scary! And lots of personalities

Truly horrifying creatures. Just when we have enough to worry about, huh? And the bees are already suffering from chemicals... Very interesting documentary!

Incoherent? Silly? Yup.
1 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
An interesting theory gets a kind of lame treatment. Just google the articles and the speech by Philip K Dick, because this doc isn't that great. And the avatars and silly CG recreations of things got kind of annoying too.

I love a movie that makes ya think
20 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Pike's character is evil, maybe even sociopathic. I guess she's an antihero. I don't feel bad for her but her performance is amazing and it makes me think about people in real life who treat our elders like this. Do some research on how crappy retirement homes and rehab facilities are, urgh don't get me started... I don't feel bad for the mob guy but I feel bad about his mom? That makes me feel weird but that reaction is kinda why I watch movies and TV. It made me think, it's entertaining and very interesting. And amazing performances by all! I loved it, personally. I hope it gets some nominations and I hope it makes people think about these places we send our loved or not so loved ones too...

Post 9/11 Nightmares?
19 February 2021
I feel like some guy smoked too much weed and had a fever dream about 9/11 and then got up and wrote this at 4am. Not terrible, some interesting ideas... But maybe a little too much thrown together to make any kind of sense. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. I was left with more of a question mark in my mind haha.

First season good, 2nd season terrible
14 January 2021
That's the reason I'm giving it such a low rating, it's an overall rating. If I had to rate the first season only I'd give it an 8/10. If I was rating the 2nd season only, I'd give it a 1 or 2/10. For those random people who said it was too political, I'm pretty sure they never got through the first episode. Give the first season a shot and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Choc'full of amazing twists, good writing and like some others have said, good character development. I really wish the second season wasn't so terrible haha.

Is Lilith really Bloody Mary?
11 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Come onnnnn. First of all, how are boys going to sneak into this girl's camp with such an obvious truck. Oh wait, its a setup, doy. Then all of a sudden Lilith, who doesn't exist anyway like all the other Christian fairy tales, seems to act a lot like Bloody Mary. And making creepy squeals? So stupid. I could say all the other stupid things but this is enough to get my point across, haha.

The Breakfast Slash

Fun but mediocre school slasher. The middle aged people like me might enjoy how reminiscent it is of The Breakfast Club. Not that great but I still found it entertaining!

The Latino "Get Out"
10 January 2021
Yeah don't listen to the haters. Independence Day is about freedom and the "American Dream" so excuse us if we want to show some reality through the delusion. Good episode, good movie. Maybe it will shock some people into questioning what the American reality is for so many people who aren't rich or white, etc. Maybe it will challenge some stereotypes. But even without all that, I personally found it entertaining. Feel free to disagree.

Great performances, sad story but they inject some comedic relief in there which is nice. Of course, I haven't read the book so I can only say that the mini-series alone is great.

Not too shabby

Home Alone crossed with Funny Games maybe. I don't mind the gore, so I enjoyed it. Some playing against type for the two biggest stars, which I like to see.

Great movie despite all the scandals
7 June 2020
Yes they fired Kevin Spacey, I'm glad they did cuz Christopher Plummer knocked it out of the park. As well as Michelle Williams. It's a crazy and sad story. And worth a watch for sure. I enjoyed it.

Watch "The Apartment" instead
7 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It almost gets good, the assistant seems quite admirable, but the ending really disappointed me. It reminds me of how far we've come, though I'm not saying it's wonderful now. This movie is dated yes, though it is entertaining it's also a little infuriating.

And if not, its still pretty bad. Terrible dialogue, stupid situations, etc. I love Indira Varma but this miniseries was just so bad. Laughably so in parts.

Best and first spoof of slashers? I think so. I love Scream 1 and 2, which were kinda intended as spoofs before Scary Movie bled over the lines into trashy comedy. Oh well. More people need to see this movie!

Dandridge and Belafonte!
7 February 2020
They were so beautiful and talented! Sure the movie could have been better in some respects, but for the time it was relatively daring. This opera, especially with an all black cast, could do for a remake. A good one though, not what most remakes end up being...

Best Screwball Comedy Ever!
4 February 2020
There's nothing I don't love about this movie! I'm also a little biased since Barbara Stanwyck is my favorite classic movie actress! And Gary Cooper was so cute! Love love love this movie. They really don't make 'em like they used too...

Why oh why, Jordan Peele?
2 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Why the bunnies? Why the laryngitis voices? So many things that make no sense, never really explained. Some sort of mirror-world made completely of mental patients and rabbits? A good premise ruined by overloading it with nonsense and silly voices. Watch The Grudge if you wanna see a similarly silly movie. It's a shame cuz it could have been good. It could have been a comment on rich vs poor or whatever. What all of it has to do with Hands Across America is beyond me... Sad-face.

Entertaining yet dated
20 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I love Barbara Stanwyck! But this movie's subject matter is pretty dated. Marilyn's character is stuck in an abusive relationship because she likes the guy...I guess, haha. And Barbara's character keeps on beating herself up for liking the bad boys. She loves a total asshole sure, but does that mean she needs to settle with a guy she doesn't love and thinks is a total bore??? Just because she wishes she's normal? Pretty dumb, in my mind. What really dates it as well is how easy ig would have been back then to take her baby away. She's an immoral woman, and might even have been put in a mental institution.
