Multifacited if not true to the book
29 December 2019
I was disappointed that the movie didn't follow the book more closely, but still worth a watch. I hadn't planned to review it, but something caught my eye. While Thomas hesitates to break into WCKD's compound because of his love interest, Newt insists for Min Ho. It struck me that Newt is in love with Min Ho, and that is beautiful. Of course, this is just a pet hypothesis, but each of these character's loyalty is as strong as the others. Disagree if you like, but it gives the scene where Newt loses his temper with Thomas all new meaning. Then he reveals he is a crank to distract Thomas from his real feelings. Watch it. It's there.

Ok, I get it.

Yes, I know the writing can be cheesy with plot holes a planet can float through, but this series takes more grief than it deserves. Saw the version that condensed the season into a two hour movie as a kid and loved it. I still love it, and face it, it is BSG cannon. Don't take it too seriously, and enjoy.

Interesting Plot Idea but so Many Holes
3 June 2019
A rogue admiral in charge of a nuclear arsenal, a man who'd require dress inspection twice a week goes rogue. So many character inconsistencies. His crew looked more like the cast from Road Warrior then an indoctrinated, high quality combat unit. Repeated insubordination on the bridge of the Seaquest.... damn. I enjoy the concepts, but someone should have done some research...
