Mission: Impossible II (2000)
Meh
Certainly not as good as the first one. The action sequences were awesome and Cruise delivers as his MI persona reasonably well. But it was a slow burn and I found myself wanting the film to be over fast.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
Boring
Apart from the soundtrack and production values, there's not much here. It was a very slow and boring film that tries to create a compelling narrative by joining two separately compelling universes ...and fails.
Alien: Covenant (2017)
Bad
Truly the worst Aliens film. Pacing and story were completely off. This did not have any suspense whatsoever. You pretty much waited for characters to die off in the predictable fashion. No real characterisation.
Baazigar (1993)
Classic
This was a gritty Bollywood film where SRK really stood out. I found the story compelling and the pacing on point! Worth checking this iconic classic out if you haven't already.
Logan (2017)
Gritty
This was GRITTY and raw for an X-men film, which it is not. The action sequences are adrenaline pumping. It's suspenseful. Jackman's performance was exemplary
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Good but not great
This film had great production values. George Miller directed the cast well in what little dialogue there was. The story was simple and the car chases and costumes were essentially the bulk of appeal here.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)
Has it all
This film has it all - hard to believe it was made back in 1984. There's crocodiles, monkey brains, human sacrifice and more! Really exciting, really disturbing.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Ok
Chris Pratt delivers some nice comedic notes. It's a witty film with some cool CGI but does not particularly deliver the best storyline. Definitely watchable and definitely not bad. Just didn't enthral me.
Deadpool (2016)
Hilarious
I love Deadpool. No other comical superhero film has hit those LOL notes as well as these films have. Definitely check it out if you haven't already!
Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
Decent film but Oscar Worthy?
I think not! The dialogue and acting wasn't perfect. It was quite hyperbolic in fact. IN saying that the story is too good to say anything negative and the slums of India scenes were exciting to watch.
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Shyamalan's best
This is by far his best. Not sure what's happened to M Night these days but the suspense of this film and the cool ending make it an iconic film that will be remembered forever
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Total disappointment.
The "revival" and "prequel" to the older films just failed on all fronts. Poor script, acting and battle scenes. We all know this film was a flop, let's not fool ourselves!
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Great film
I like how every Indiana has a gruelling scene and this film's is by far the gruelliest! Harrison Ford's performance here was on point!
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)
Best SW
I think this is the best of the franchise. Cool bad guys, cooler heroes. Jabba the Hutt rocks my socks! I felt this film was truest to the SW universe. I watched this after seeing Force Awakens and honestly feel that the new films don't do justice to these classics.
Boy Erased (2018)
Great film
I struggled with fanatical religious family members as a gay person so I can totally relate to this film. It isn't so accurate in my opinion and obviously hollywood-ized but still does a decent job.
Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004)
Classic
Definitely a classic. Thurman delivers along with Lucy Liu. QT pioneered these kinds of films starting with Kill Bill and I'm so glad he rose to success. Definitely not as good as the first but still amazing!
Main Hoon Na (2004)
Love it.
SRK really delivers in this one and the songs are really catchy. Just a great fun film to watch that will remain timeless forever. The acting is typically Bollywood but any audience will enjoy this one.
Se7en (1995)
Good
The film follows some predictable moments in these kinds of thrillers but beyond that it cannot be put down. Pitt is an awesome actor and with Freeman they really delivered on this one with their performances. Shame we didn't see more of Spacey
The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
The best
There is no better criminal psychopath out there portrayed in film than Hannibal. This film is a true masterpiece and worthy of the high score. I still go back and watch it now and then. Sends chills through me every time.
Inception (2010)
Nolan is a master of direction
Nolan does it again. He joined forces with great actors and Hans Zimmer who creates a great score that runs through the film. It's a true masterpiece of modern cinema.
Forrest Gump (1994)
Definitely like a box of chocolates...
This film can bring up sweetness, happiness, bitterness, sadness and disappointment just like a nice big box of chocolates can! Worth every bit of fame it has received.
Fight Club (1999)
Might be late to the table...
But I just saw this awesome film. I don't know how it escaped me. The performances and twists are unparalleled, even in modern times! Check this if you've been living under a rock like me!
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Great
Iconic film with some great quotes. I will never forget this one!
Venom (2018)
Don't believe the hype
I had high hopes for this film. Trailers can be deceiving. It's not Hardy's best- people here are saying to ignore critics. If we ignore critics, then why read critic reviews at all? The storyline was scattered and performances average. Large waste of money (the budget I mean)
Monsters and Men (2018)
Slow and lacks originality
In saying all that, I liked it! The performances were strong and yes the film has been done before. But it's decent for sure. Worth more than a 5
