Ghost Lab (2021)

It's just a normal horror movie.

The first 50 minutes is good & interesting storytelling, however, right after turning point (you know what scene), seem like writers forgot what happened in first half and turn it to normal standard horror movie even they could continue expand and explore their own world. Lead to totally disappoint conclusion. Not worth watching to be honest.

With high+interesting concept about exploring ghost+afterlife by science, however, as they almost reach the top of mountain, they take different turn and instead run to the cliff. (and fall really hard)

All good things go to the first 50 minutes, as Wee and Gla help each other to investigate and find the explanation of their experiment. Nice storytelling, scare tricks and good vibe enough to follow them and find out what happens next.

BUT after a turning point at the middle, seem like screenwriters might reach their dead-end (as they thought), instead continue to cross the line like what character says in the movie and go full fantasy sci-fi like TENET, they instead cross back to normal standard dumb psychological drama horror movie like 'The Promise (2017)' and 'The Swimmers (2014)'. Of course, GDH is a feel good movie studio, so happy ending, good moral always come first. The result? All good stuffs from first 50 minutes become wasted like it's 'nothing'.

So, for short. Not worth your time, but you really want to watch good part, watch until minute 56 and you can stop the movie right then.

WandaVision (2021)

Great story, but not satisfying enough...

This show is pretty well made for open up new things in MCU, with tribute to all-era sitcoms & mystery thriller in Ep.1-7. And go full drama tragedy in Ep.8 which is totally awesome and beautifully written. (Give a big praise to Laura Donney!!)

However, the finale is disappointing after 7 weeks long build up. Agatha's reason for being villain is just only to take Wanda's magic and really not 'All Along' like she said in Ep.7. All characters who suppose to have bigger part only just come and go. (Darcy has one scene from entire episode while Fietro has so small, unnecessary role.)

I won't mind if Marvel don't give us surprise cameo or epic final fight, but Wanda's grief journey should do more justice and thanks to short runtime, She goes from Denial, Anger then reaches Acceptance so 'fast' after knowing what she had done to people in Westview. I mean I expect to see Wanda go 'full mad mode' (since we got a glimpse of this in Ep.5) for her 'depression' before her 'Vision' asks her to 'accept' her fate.

Anyway, it still worth to watch and it's great kick start for Phase 4 in MCU.

Bad Genius (2020)

Almost good, almost...

As much as I love how writers expand original story from film more epic, more thrilling, more exiting characters, but I can't deny the fact that the ending is totally disappointment after all main characters in this series went through. At the same time, studio can continue this series and make 2nd season like Hormones series but they turn them down right away with black & white ending.

(My version of SS2, you can skip this : Remove last half of final ep. off. Bank, Grace, Pat continue their heist work but Lin who feel guilty by brought Bank to heist world try to stop their heist without effect her friends as much as possible, then put last half of final ep. back would be perfect.)

Tenet (2020)

Nolan is back, and more EPIC than ever.

Mind blowing realistic visual spy adventure film like 007+Inception with sci-fi like Interstellar, Nolan'll keep you stick on your seat from beginning to the end. Keep concentrate for all detail from start to make sure you won't lose track or misunderstanding because last-half of the film'll show no mercy to audience for his terrific story. IMAX 70mm. is the best way to experience it. Anyone who like to play complex puzzle or jigsaw'll absolutely love this film.

Doraemon: Nobita and the New Steel Troops: ~Winged Angels~ (2011)

One of the best Doraemon film of all time.

Even it's a 'for kids' movie, this movie explores many dark elements that happened in our regular society. This movie also success to mix up between story drama about 'friendship' and sci-fi 'war'. You can't find anything like this in other movie even Doraemon other films itself.

Bad Genius (2017)

Best teen heist film ever.

Not only thrilling about their characters's cheating tricks, this film also explore how education in Thailand worse enough to drive all characters into 'cheating business' and do everything they can to achieve their goals (even they have to hurt each other for that). Even 'The Perfect Score' or '21' can't compare to this one.

If you expect that it's gonna be about how characters outsmart on blackjack or play mind game with antagonist, this'll disappoint you. This movie has many good elements to tell many thing about play gambling in young age, however, director & writer turn them all to a dumb teen drama you could find in many television series.

(I mean there's an asian film where a group of teens try to cheat an international exam still do it better than this.)

Where We Belong (2019)

Painfully beautiful drama story.

With powerful deserved award performance from Jennis, and strong plot from Kongdej. This film'll struck into your heart even you left theatre for hours. I can't spoil it, you have to experience it yourself and see how this world much cruel to drive one girl want to leave her place.

Brother of the Year (2018)

'The Worst Brother Ever' should be this film title.

Even it has interesting cast by Urassaya and Nichakun, this film can't hold balance in their script at all. Some moment they want to go full comedy like ATM & I'm fine, but at the same time they want to do drama like One Day. The worst thing is this film totally forget what they should focus to tell audience and show us with stupid nonsense action from Sunny's character. (I mean what kind of man will bring beer into office during his work???)

I mean if you're looking for good story from rom-com film in Netflix, skip this one. Waste your time.

Chou Super Hero Taisen: Kamen Rider vs. Super Sentai (2017)

With super NONSENSE story, no characters chemistry, and can't decide who's gonna be the lead. This crossover movie is definity GOOD (for young kids who minds nothing) but 2nd-WORST (for general audience) installment of Rider x Sentai movies. (As much as it worse, but still better than Taisen Z) Great decision from producers for stop continuing this series.

Homestay (I) (2018)

Thanks to Jame's performance for trying to keep this movie away from disaster.

Even though it has interesting cast (especially Cherprang from AKB48's sister, BNK48), interesting visual effects, and great director (from Seub Nakhasathien's short bio film). However, by making it totally different from source material (Colorful by Eto Mori) turns this film out as another disappointment, with multiple storyline so we can't focus on anything. (Pi's harassment, Mom's affair, Dad's work addict, etc.) Even it keeps many element from source, but 2010 japanese anime adaptation still did it better.

The other thing that I totally disappoint is this movie soundtrack, if you listen carefully you'll noticed that this film has many soundtrack from other movie, opening scene from Blade Runner 2049, ending credit from A Silent Voice, and trailer music from Bumblebee. (But if composer thinks that this's inspiration, well okay...)

Happy Old Year (2019)

Definitely good movie (but not for everyone).

You'll absolutely disappointed if you expect for fast-paced romance & melodrama like others romance GDH film, but if you expect slow build-up, great character development, realistic acting, and bunch of emotional swings, this is for you.

Good only for first time...

So disappointed when the advertisement & posters said this movie is about Toon's journey from Southest to Northest. While this movie has many good materials footage from DOP, the director still play safe and not want to go full deep in some subject for unknown reasons. (like Toon's FC's extreme interruption during his run, how his girlfriend, friends & staffs 'really' thinks about this project.) Instead to explore more details about his journey, we got his personal life in last 30 minutes which's not bad but still feel unnecessary to this documentary.

To be honest, I'll be more interesting to see this movie goes by road-movie storytelling and focus more people on Toon's van instead Toon's solo story.

The Legend of Muay Thai: 9 Satra (2018)

Overrated

Just watch on Netflix today, this movie has great characters design and great visual but when comes into action & plot, the plot is too boring and play safe like normal animation you can see in many of Japanese TV anime. Action scenes in this movie is also full of slowmotion and overused special effects. This movie is great for kids but definitely not for general audience.
