American Horror Story: Multiply Thy Pain (2023)
I hope this gets better.
Kim's acting really isn't that good. Hearing her say, "Oh my GAWD!" like they do on their show kind of ruins it for me. I'll give it a chance to get better, but I also have no problem not finishing a season. I didn't care much for last season and abandoned it halfway through. Maybe this show has been running for too long and they're just out of ideas. I was really disappointed when I found out she was going to be in it this season. I even debated not watching it. It's a shame the Red Tide season was cut short. That one really had potential! It felt more like the earlier seasons. Good luck to everyone watching this season!
White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch (2022)
*yawn*
I was excited to watch this because I was a tween/teen while the brand was popular. I was a few minutes in when I realized this was just a "woke" documentary talking about how terrible white people are, again. I won't be wasting any more of my time on this.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
Pleasantly surprised
I didn't pay much attention to any advertisements for this because I just assumed it was connected to that 2016 trash. I ended up really enjoying this! I don't always like the next generation approach to iconic movies, but I thought this one was decent.
No Sudden Move (2021)
Gave me a literal headache
I didn't hate it, but I would have liked it more if they'd just used a typical lens. I had a headache by the end of this movie because of whatever lens they used. It also made me dizzy at times.
Spree (2020)
I liked it!
It's not meant to be taken seriously. It's making fun of these kinds of people. I personally enjoyed it. I probably shouldn't have laughed as much as I did. The people down voting my review or leaving bad reviews are just mad because movie probably called them out.
Cruel Summer: Off with a Bang (2021)
The casting in this episode
I'm enjoying the series so far! I'm rating this episode because I watch a lot of dubbed anime and it always tickles me to death seeing those regular voice actors venture out into other stuff. Good job Ricco Fajardo and David Matranga!
The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness (2021)
The bad reviewers obviously don't read titles or summaries before watching something
Anyone complaining about this not being about David Berkowitz obviously didn't bother to read the summary or even the title. It plainly states it's about Maury Terry in the summary. It's like people saw, "Son of Sam" and blindly clicked.
I personally thought it was compelling. I never knew anything about this side of the case and it was interesting to learn someone else's perspective. It also taught me that the, "satanic panic" lasted much longer than I realized. I was born in late 80s and only really remember all that as a child in the 90s.
Godzilla (1998)
It's fine lol
I was ten when this movie came out, so maybe I'm just nostalgic. I don't feel like it's as bad people say. It's not the best either. I still enjoy the soundtrack! Extra star for that.
Married with Children (1987)
A great escape from woke/PC culture
I was too young to watch this in the 80s and 90s. I gave it a chance today because I wanted something that wasn't crime or woke culture. This is great! It had me laughing in the pilot. I honestly think what made it funny for me is thinking about how it would offend people now. You definitely won't see another show like this ever again. I also love how Al Bundy is just Jay Pritchett (Modern Family) in an earlier stage in life.
Grand Isle (2019)
It was pretty good
I enjoyed it simply because it didn't take place anywhere in California or NYC, and also because it had a real ending with a conclusion. I'm so tired of new movies just ending in the air like someone forgot to write the last act.
Sasquatch (2021)
I liked it!
It wasn't what I expected, but I still enjoyed. I thought this was a fascinating documentary about just how far some people will go to protect what's theirs. For people leaving bad reviews, did you all seriously think Sasquatch was real? We would have known about that way before this documentary came out!
Why Did You Kill Me? (2021)
Nothing new here
The events and people in this documentary are exactly why they drill, "stay away from drugs and gangs" into our heads when we're children. What did this family really expect? I was disappointed when I realized this was just another story about gang violence. The mother was the worst one! First she wouldn't cooperate with the police, and then she compromised the investigation by acting unstable on MySpace. If that wasn't bad enough, she used the, "boys will be boys" excuse to justify bad things her sons did.
I gave two stars because I did think the documentary itself was well done. I would have liked to hear more of the police's side of the story though.
BuzzFeed Unsolved: Supernatural (2016)
Typical buzzfeed content
I love the concept, but it's not as good as a show like this could be. The two guys hosting it try way too hard to be funny. The constant vulgar language kills it for me too. I don't have a problem with bad language, but this show just isn't the place for that. I see that as immaturity and a lack of intellect. Which is fitting I guess, because the hosts are extremely immature. I would love to find a series like this with people debating the topics in a more appropriate manner. On the other hand, I did start with low expectations simply because it's buzzfeed.
