Get Smart with Money (2022)
Pretty simple point
The show is ok. However it always drives me nuts when I see these HUGE cars for just 1 or 2 people and the DAILY takeout orders and then the same people complaining about money. It's just not serious. Also, 300$ for a phone, monthly.
Yes, we people live in different realities. And yes, it's completely possible and achievable to live within your means and save. This feeling of freedom can not be compared with anything.
And no, a family of 3 doesn't NEED more than 2 bedrooms. A family of 4 doesn't NEED more than 3 bedrooms. Anything more is done for boasting how successful you are. Not for upgrading the quality of your life. You just have more rooms to take care of. More cars to maintain. More clothes to store. You get the point.
Thirteen Lives (2022)
Truly outstanding
This was maybe the best movie I've watched this year. Don't miss it! It's just phenomenal and I couldn't stop crying, so many heartbreaking scenes. It's an instant classic.
Gone in the Night (2022)
Gone in my mind
It was bad. Overall bad acting, terrible, terrible script. Please, decent actors (I'm sure everyone in the movie is a decent professional) - please, don't agree to participate in such BS. It's not worth your time, your effort, your skills, I'm sure you're not dying for the money too. But I really can't figure out a better reason for acting in this.
Persuasion (2022)
Outraged by the imitation
It's just not ok to copy and paste that blatantly. Fleabag is a modern classic and no, even Dakota (who is great!) can't imitate her. Anyone who has once seen Fleabag will recognize the mannerisms and will feel sorry for Dakota. She needs to express her AUTHENTIC talent (loved "The Lost Daughter"). Couldn't watch it, therefore not giving any stars, it was just cringy.
The Man from Toronto (2022)
Good fun
It was actually a lot better than expected. We had many honest laughs, action scenes were surprisingly well done and time flew by. If you want a good weekend comedy, this is it.
Senior Year (2022)
Good fun
I expected less from this movie. It made me smile and laugh a lot of times, I had sincere fun watching it. No regrets, recommend it. Rebel Wilson is getting better and better.
WeCrashed (2022)
Amazing
Both Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway are such a powerful acting duo, the series completely matches my expectations so far. Anne is a force of nature and in episode 3 you can see such raw and exact picture of devastating emotions. Amazing.
The Lost Daughter (2021)
Brilliant. Please read the book too.
This movie brought me to tears more than once. As did the book. This is a movie which will be understood by many mothers but I guess it might be difficult for those who are not (yet) or can't imagine themselves in the situations motherhood brings along. It is such a complicated journey, so individual for every mother, and brings such emotions you are never ready for or don't expect to happen to you.
I'm sure that I will reread the book and rewatch the movie in the future.
Scenes from a Marriage (2021)
Satisfied
I'm honestly deeply satisfied with the first episode. It resonates with audience of people who are in committed relationships, married or not. Even more with people with children.
Mr. Corman (2021)
Episode 7 was something else
I was borderline enjoying this show but episode 7 made it for me. It was so relatable in the way us millennials think about all the different life versions all of us could live. We are exposed to countless scenarios and painfully aware of it - something the previous generations might not have spent so much time contemplating because they didn't have social media and weren't constantly comparing their lives and choices with so many others, but rather with their immediate circle. The vivid imagination and artistic qualities of the show are great bonuses.
