Firecracker (2024)
Suspense and action all the way
Firecracker is exactly what this film is. On fireworks night, estate agent Matilda is showing a couple around a house, a house in which Tom was burned to death by Jack and Lena. Matilda is then held hostage by Jack and Lena. Their objective is to retrieve some incriminating evidence from a hidden safe, for their client called Knight. In it, Knight confesses that he was responsible for a fire at a laboratory, which killed a child. I won't spoil it for you anymore, but there are plenty of twists, which surprised me. The acting was of a high standard, with great tension throughout. Highly recommend it.
Spirited (2022)
Please make it stop!
I had to watch this with a friend. I thought it would never end. The film is far too long, not particularly funny and the song and dance numbers were tiresome.
Will Farrel is good but that's about it. Here are the other bad things about this tiresome movie, 2 hours taken out of my life which I will never be able to get back.
The song and dance routines are very cheesy and they feel like they will never stop.
I didn't feel that it should be on the big screen. This feels like a Hallmark TV movie.
The film is shot perfectly and does look great, but that's about the only other positive I can think about this movie.
Winifred Meeks (2021)
Too much
I had high hopes when I read about this film, being a fan of Lara Belmont and the supernatural genre. I settled down last week to watch it hoping to be entertained by a good tale and I was. To a point.
The acting was great and there was a good eerie atmosphere throughout the film.
Unfortunately I felt the film would have worked better as a 45 minute one off TV drama. I'm sorry to say I just felt there was a lot of time where nothing happened. I also sadly didn't like the films ending..
13 Graves (2019)
Gripping British horror that you must not ignore
What can i say in one word to describe 13 Graves? Gripping. From the opening scene you are immediately Pulled in and the pace never slows down for a second. Written by producer/director John Langridge, he has created a variety of captivating and sinister characters, with an ending that the audience can never anticipate. The acting is of a high quality, with strong performances throughout from the entire cast. Terri Dwyer (Holloakes, Law And Order UK) gives a truly evil performance as Maddy. This is the best horror film i have seen for some time. I strongly advise you see it,. You won't regret it
