A Normal Lost Phone (2017)
Life Changing for LGBTQIA+
When I first played this game, I was a lot younger and had no idea of who I was or my identity. Looking back, this game had helped me feel more comfortable in who I was. I have since come out as non-binary, and seeing a happy ending for Sam after discovering they're transgender really made me feel more safe. I always loved the photo of them with the wig at pride parade as well for some reason, because they looked happy and like themselves. Now I understand it's because finally feeling gender euphoria and like you belong somewhere is such a powerful feeling.
I highly recommend this game to anyone struggling with their identity, to anyone who wants to learn more, or anyone in general! I still listen to the soundtrack all these years later as well.
Glee (2009)
Changed my life...at first.
Glee helped shape me into who I am today. Quinn Fabray(Diana Agron) was my first ever girl crush and helped me realize I wasn't cishet. It shaped a huge part of me enjoying musicals and show choir, which changed the course of my life forever in middle school. The voices were all amazing.
That said, I couldn't bear watching after the beginning of Season 4. The music is still good sure, but the plot got too insane and dramatic. The best characters got such little screen time or were written off almost completely.
Lea Michelle is an amazing voice sure, but there were so many more amazing voices with little chance to shine. The same few characters got every song and others were neglected.
That said. I still adore the early 2 seasons (maybe 3). It's good, but don't expect perfection. A lot of scenes have aged REALLY poorly as well.
Slime Rancher 2 (2022)
Early access review
This game is far from completed and perfect yet, but it's still an amazing and fun expierence for any returning Slime Rancher fan. New players to the series might be a bit confused about old characters and your relationship to them, but it isn't too big of a dealbreaker.
I have high hopes as the rest of early access goes on that the game will be one of my top favorites of all time. It's a nice way to relax after a long day, and a nice way to calm myself down when I'm having an anxiety attack.
The graphics are absolutely beautiful, and you can't help but be stunned just staring at scenery and slimes.
If you have a lot of slimes and chickens in your ranch it can lag the game a bit, but I've hardly had too big of a problem on any of my computers. It's being optimized as well.
Detroit: Become Human (2018)
Lots of Emotions and Replayability
While this game isn't perfect, it is an amazing step for story and choice based gaming. The voice actors are amazing and hilarious outside the game as well. The replayability is also epic, you can be as evil or nice as you want. You can kill off characters super early! The flowcharts of choices really help anyone trying to 100% as well.
The characters are all loveable, which makes failing any choices and potientally getting them killed all the more heart breaking. While Kara's gameplay sessions were a little boring, and the main story isn't effected by her really at all, it's a nice break from any high action scenes to let you relax with a heartwarming found family story.
Highly recommend you play through the game at least once!
Wednesday (2022)
Perfect Mix of Comedy and Mystery
While I'm not a fan of some of the teen cliches added in the movie, like the love triangle, the rest of this show is the perfect blend of comedy and mystery and horror. There are callouts and refrences to previous Addams Family movies and shows which fit right in and will make any classic fan happy. The actors absolutely KILL IT with their roles, feeling every emotion. The majority of characters are also relatable, especially if you have some trauma with parents.
I haven't seen anyone who I've shown this show to dislike it, and all of them (and me) have been hooked. The love and soul put into this show really shines through and makes viewing an amazing expierence. Highly recommend.
Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (2022)
How to Make Skin Crawling Horror
This series is the perfect representation of the type of horror that isn't so much in your face (only a few examples of it being so) and more so the subtle creepy and wrong feeling throughout. The songs are catchy (I've had duck's "shake them by their hand" song in my head for a week now), the added lore and plot works so well with the established basic premise without taking away from the uneasy feeling as well.
If you were a fan of the orignal web series as well, you're in luck! A lot of references are made or chatacters return.
I've rewatched this so many times now, and I can't recommend enough.
