The Americans (2013)
Gripping TV, great acting
Kerri s beautiful but has a terrific edge. Matthew is a classic performer. The plot twists are great and every season offers up seemingly unsolvable problems that need to be addressed. Great show!
Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020)
No tongue, no cheek
This is an Australia based series but they chose to make the focal point the middle east and it didn't work on any level. Attempt at humor fell flat, no real plot, and certainly nobody to really care about. Even the byplay between the leads was awkward and contrived. A miss at every level.
24 (2001)
A true classic
There is a reason why Jack Bauer is a legend. You always wonder how he will get out of each predicament but he never disappoints.
Paul McCartney & Wings - Rockshow (1980)
A classic from the man with a thousand voices!
Versatility personified from the greatest rock voice in history!
Justified (2010)
Don't like Olyphant
The premise is really good but I will not watch any show with this snarky lead. His attitude makes nothing seem serious or at all real so I will not waste my time with anything that he is in.
The Crown (2016)
Great, entertaining show!
If you like Victoria and Downton Abbey, this show is a combination of the two. Fascinating information on how the power is wielded and influenced by politicians and church leaders. Add the secondary players fighting to get their voices heard and rise up the ladder. Great casting, with exception of JFK, and outstanding performances by Claire Foy and John Lithgow. I plan to watch it again and really look forward to season 3. The negative reviews must be from bots who are programmed to hate everything. Ignore them.
Reef Break (2019)
I set my timer for this..watched two episodeds..and cancelled it
I like Poppy but the cheekiness and unrealistic situations are too much to take. I mean, how many times can you smile and make smart aleck comments when someone is threatening to kill you? And Poppy, please dress like someone your age should, even if you are an island.
Stranger Things: Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt (2019)
Something for everyone!
A great mixture of tension, humor (love the duet), tremendous acting, and sadness. Brilliantly mixed together by the Duffers. Well done!
The Rookie (2018)
Substandard dop show
Nathan did his thing and was one of the few positive things about the show. However, the show lacked pace as it jumped from scene to scene with a lack of continuity. I could watch future episodes but won't because the characters are such prototypes that you can't possibly care about them, Like the tough cop who becomes instantly weepy at the sight of his wife who he hasn't seen in a year. Um, okay but there is no why. Totally unrealistic but not more than a petite cop getting the best of a big guy in a sidewalk tussle. Really? A complete disappointment filled with cliches you've seen many times before.
Goliath (2016)
Season 1 was really good, season 2 ended with two of the worst eposodes I have seen on any show
I binged Season 1 and looked forward to the next one. Exit David R. Kelly and what you get is every character being worse and addicted to the F word. Throw in sick body mutilations and a script that goes completely off the rails and you wish you had your time back. A true lesson showing the value of a show runner.
Safe (2018)
A good start but....
..it fades away toward the end. The show has a good premise but it drifts to other areas that really don't affect the main plot. The teacher's affair allegations? What was the point since we got no idea how it started and what it had to do with anything. The murder victim was allegedly wasted but, in recounting the final confrontation, he seemed anything but. That being the case, how did he get bested by a much smaller woman? Also, the main killer starts fires and kills others but hesitates killing the only other people who know his secret? Not likely. The only character I really liked was Pete who was the glue for the whole show. In all, it was disappointing.
Reverie (2018)
I loved Sarah on Person of Interest but...
...this show is unwatchable for me, I gave up after the first episode since I could care less about anyone on the show. Perhaps it got better but I do not regret my decision to jump off.
Taboo (2017)
Another Tom Hardy triumph
Tough, brooding mysterious. That is what he brings to this character. Violent but it seems to be consistent with what would have gone on during this time in history. A great combination of making you feel intrigued, confused, queasy, and amused all at the same time. I look forward to season 2.
River (2015)
I want more River
I really enjoyed the one season of this show. Complex, entertaining characters form the foundation for a unique show. It is a shame that they only had one season because it is better than most things on TV.
Line of Duty (2012)
Line of Duty is a do not miss
I binge watched three great seasons. Great flawed characters, complex protagonists, and great acting add up to a compelling drama. Clearly better than almost everything that I have watched.
Strike Back (2010)
Strike Back is no 24
Watched several episodes before losing interest. The foreign locales and villains are repetitive. Way too much gratuitous sex making Stapleton out like he is Brad Pitt. No Jack Bauer here to keep me involved and give me a rooting interest.
