Juno (2007)
mixed messages, annoying quirkiness, weirdly uncomfortable.
I don't really have any funny quip to start this review with so I'm just gonna get straight to the point..
This movie makes me mad, angry, and confused.. mainly confused because it just doesn't seem to know what kind of message it wants to convey. Part of the time it seems to portray a decent, and correct message about teen pregnancy, like it being a sometimes unfortunate, or an accidental thing that happens to some teens., but the rest of the time it seems to be glamorizing it or glorifying it, treating it as this "happy accident" thing that you should be happy for and not worried or scared.. maybe that's what they were going for "confusion", cause teenage pregnancy is probably a confusing time for those who go through it...
the second thing I have to complain about is the quirky humor, the overabundance of quirky humor just makes me cringe, and annoys me to no end, there's delightful quirkiness and quirky humor that I actually enjoy and then there's the Juno movie, which seems abuse the crap of quirky teenage humor trope and honestly it just makes shrivel up and die inside.
The third thing, oh boy.. spoilers. But close to the end of the movie where Jason Bateman's character had a weird and creepy attraction to Juno ( a teenage girl I might add), creepily flirting with her, almost divorcing his wife because of his creepy attraction to Juno. God that was really uncomfortable to watch, why did they feel the need to have that in the movie.. why..
anyways Juno is a lame movie with confusing mixed messages, unbelievably annoying quirkiness, and just some weird, creepy uncomfortableness to top it all off.
A Star Is Born (2018)
another one of these movies..
I want to start off this review by saying I'm a big fan of Lady Gaga, and also Bradley Cooper's a great actor.. but...
that still doesn't change the fact that this movie was just another one these types of movies, another romance/drama, another "undiscovered talent" movie. Its just another one of those movies, nothing special, nothing different, nothing unique, nothing new brought to the table. Generic, the same old same old, which makes it just plain boring and dull to watch. Now this is the part where I would say I don't understand why everyone loves this movie, or I question why was the movie so popular, but I know why.. Lady Gaga, she's most likely the only reason why everyone seems to love this movie.. but for me that isn't enough to make me like or enjoy this movie. Its just too generic, too dull, and way too overhyped.
And the overplayed Shallow song also made me despise this movie even more, so yeah.
Music (2021)
Disappointed.
I was honestly really disappointed when I found that Sia, a musical artist who I actually like and enjoy made this abomination of a movie.
I expected something like this garbage from the Autism Speaks organization but not Sia.. ANYWAYS.
This movie has got to be the absolute worst depictions of someone with autism. (and I thought those movies or tv shows that always depicted people with autism as savants were bad, nope) this is on a whole another level. I wouldn't even call this a depiction, its more of caricature, with all the stupid faces, and over exaggerations.. next time anyone makes a movie that has someone with autism in it, or about someone with autism, how about you actually have people with autism in it, or at least people with autism as consultants so you can actually represent and depict them properly. And not make any more of these abominations like this movie that just further the bad and untrue stereotypes of people with autism.
Sincerely, a person with actual autism.
Also I'll add this, once again why tf is there even a romance in this movie, its unnecessary and unneeded.
Uncle Grandpa (2010)
who was this made for?
I don't get it... I just don't get it.... why does this show actually have some good ratings and reviews on here.. it doesn't make any sense.. I remember the first time I saw this show randomly on Cartoon Network one day, and I was just baffled. Its like random XD the show, just a bunch of random nonsense scattered randomly in some kind of attempt to be funny, it isn't funny, its just annoying. Also that isn't saying I don't like random XD type of shows or humor, but this one doesn't even do it properly. Plus the the main character Uncle Grandpa's design is just butt ugly(maybe that's what they were going for idk) so once again I reiterate, who is this made for? Who is the demographic? Cause apparently it has people who actually like it but I dunno how..
American Dad! (2005)
The Watered Down Off Brand Version Of Family Guy.
I remember I used to halfway like this show at one point in my life... but now... what on Earth was I thinking..?? Like for real? This show is just a watered down, unfunny, off brand, garbage version of Family Guy. Its main crux is the "humor" or at least what creators of this shows thinks is humor... With Family Guy 5/10 jokes would actually hit, and actually be somewhat funny, but with American Dad!... its barely even 2/10, most of their jokes fall flat, and just end up being uncomfortable and even painful to sit through.. and when their jokes fall flat, what do they resort to? GROSS OUT!! OFFENSIVE FOR THE SAKE OF BEING OFFENSIVE!! Sigh... don't get me wrong there are shows that can do both of those things well (South Park, Aqua Teen Hungerforce etc.) but if its overdone like it is in American Dad! Then it just ends up getting old real fast.. yeah, this show is just stinky garbage.
Archer (2009)
I just don't get it...
I'm not entirely sure why I just plain out don't like this show.. but every time I've tried watching it or unintentionally watched it by accident or whatever it just annoyed me or just bored me to death. The "jokes" are barely even jokes in it half of the time, most of the time its plain out dumb, loud and weird and just boring... Now there's some shows that can make the loud, dumb, weird and maybe even annoying schtick actually work and be funny (example Aqua Teen Hungerforce) but this show.... no.. just no, its just unfunny, dull, loud, and painful to sit through... I really don't get why this is so highly rated on here...
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
you know you're a trash comedian when your best joke was years ago..
Dave Chappelle hasn't been funny since his whole Rick James bit, and even that was just mid. This is just another attempt made by some irrelevant person in order to be relevant again, the ol' say something controversial so people will talk about me again schtick.. its dumb, its stupid, and I'm sick and tired of it at this point.
Anyways, there was no attempts at even the slightest form of comedy in this whatsoever. This was just a rant, a tirade, a tantrum and nothing more.
Minions (2015)
surprising good. BANANA.
I get it, I get the hate people have for the minions, the cringy Facebook memes that every makes fun of all the time, I get that. But regardless of any of that, every time I've watched a movie with the minions in it, I've always enjoyed them, whether it be the Despicable Me movies, or this movie which is solely about the minions themselves, they've always been enjoyable and funny even if its in a ridiculous and stupid kind of way. I've always enjoyed the stupid humor, the stupid jokes, everything. BANANA will always make me do the stupid loud laugh that makes everyone look at you and think wtf is wrong with you? Lol.
Smallville (2001)
The best Superman origin story series imo. (not that there's many competition but eh lol)
I'll tell you what separates this from all the other Superman origin stories, the fact that it starts off as Clark being a fumbly awkward teenager, we never get that much in the other origin stories. I dunno imo I think it makes people relate to Clark/Superman better(at least me personally) it humanizes someone who usually gets shown as this indestructible super strong flawless being. Another thing I love about this series is that Clark starts out not even knowing why he's different and not even having all of his full powers, and learning and making mistakes with them as he learns to use them, its another thing that makes him more relatable and makes the show better. Another thing I love is the meteor infected people, the wide variety of different abilities and how they affect Clark is really interesting. I dunno I know those reasons probably don't make a lot of sense but oh well. 10/10 would go gay for Tom Welling.
The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius (2002)
Sheen & Carl are top tier animated characters.
Tbh Sheen & Carl from this show are both my spirit animals and they make this show 10 times better imo. That being said, this show slaps lol and is such a re-watchable top tier animated show. 10/10 would buy an Ultra-Lord action figure if one did exist irl.
The Santa Clause 2 (2002)
weirdly better than the first movie imo.
I dunno why but I enjoyed The Santa Clause 2 way more than the first Santa Clause movie, I dunno if it was the fact that I've seen this one way more than the first one or was it the fact that I weirdly enjoyed the scenes with the plastic fake Santa Clause lol who knows.
Jack Frost (1998)
Underrated cheesy movie that'll make you cry.
Another cheesy christmas family movie that had me bawling like a baby at the end. These types of movies always seem to be good at doing that sort of thing lol. All in all tho a pretty good movie.
Christmas with the Kranks (2004)
One of those "so bad its good" type of movies.
I dunno what it is with "so bad that its good" christmas movies, but they always seem to have a special place in my heart. The cheesiness, the corniness, the cringyness just speaks to me. I guess I'm a weirdo who likes these sort of things lol.
SpongeBob SquarePants (1999)
I dunno one person who hasn't enjoyed watching Spongebob at least to some degree.
Seriously who hasn't liked or enjoyed Spongebob at some point in their existence? If you don't or haven't then you must be some sort of "buzzkllington" or no fun type of person.. Spongebob is and always will be a timeless classic for people of any age, gender, or race to enjoy and laugh at.
Gravity Falls (2012)
A fantastic show that deserves more seasons or at least a movie.
A fantastic show tho surprising considering it came from the Disney XD, and some of the shows that came from the Disney XD weren't the greatest.. ANYWAYS this show has everything, engaging mysteries, quirky and hilariously relatable characters, dumb humor, adult humor for the adults who watch it, cool designs for the creatures/cryptids, AND the main enemy is a crazy Illuminati triangle entity whose been manipulating things from the beginning. What else could you want from a show?
The Amazing World of Gumball (2011)
yet another quirky, charming and hilarious Cartoon Network cartoon.
I seen bits and pieces of this show on Cartoon Network when it was still a new show and still popular, but I didn't start actually watching it till like 2019-2020. ANYWAYS, this show is amazing, its humor is quirky, weird and tbh just my kind of humor. The character designs are unique and the mix between 3-d and 2-d and even live action characters is pretty cool. This show is an overall masterpiece and deserves its own movie (hopefully soon), anyways ye 10/10 definitely.
The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack (2008)
Charming Nightmare Fuel.
I was honestly surprised to see this show on the regular Cartoon Network and not on Adult Swim.. This show was pure nightmare fuel, plain and simple. But somehow it still had charm to it, I dunno, the closest thing I could describe this show as would be the Pokemon Trubbish, ugly, not pretty to look at, but yet somehow still charming and weirdly enjoyable. Ye that about sums up The Marvelous Misadventures Of Flapjack.
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (2003)
What even was this show? lol
This show came on the Toonami little segment like really late into the night, and when I first seen it, I was instantly confused, weirded out but also intrigued, mesmerized and amazed at the same time. It was a strange experience overall but a good strange experience. And when I tell people about this "anime" (I dunno if you'd even call this an anime) people never believe that its real and that it existed, and they always have to Google it lol.
Phineas and Ferb (2007)
weirdly entertaining.
I heard about this show but I never got around to actually watching it till like last year actually, mainly cause it started popping up in my recommended on Youtube. ANYWAYS, as I started watching this show, I instantly fell in love with the humor, the quirkiness, the always hilarious running gags with Perry The Platypus and Doofensmirtz, and pretty much everything about the show I enjoyed. Its definite show I can always re-watch numerous times or at least just re-watch favorite funny scenes from it.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000)
Bring back shows like CSI pls.
As one of my favorite shows ever, it still holds that title in 2019 (no surprise there tho) this review might be a little biased cause of that, but eh idc. CSI, the original CSI is honestly one of the best crime shows CBS ever put out, no other can compare. Every aspect of it, interesting characters like Grissom, interesting murder stories that never were never the same, dull or boring, and was always fun to watch the characters solve the mystery of it all., it wasn't afraid to delve into weird and unknown subcultures and mindsets, and give light to things in humanity that normal people would shy away from. All in all CSI was an amazing show, and they need to bring it back in some form, even if its a brand new show, Crime Scene Investigation shows need to come back.
Bird Box (2018)
Interesting concept, but sadly it goes nowhere and nothing interesting happens.
All this talk about Bird Box ever since it aired on Netflix, I figured I might as well give it a shot.. And boy I was majorly disappointed, I will admit I like the idea that it presented, but it wasn't executed properly. Barely anything happened during the entire movie, and it was just really uneventful, and dragged on way too much with no really exciting outcome. I'd say if want to watch an interesting monster/ survival horror movie, watch A Quiet Place instead, way better movie.
The Last Airbender (2010)
Complete trash..
As a big fan of the original source show Avatar The Last Airbender, I was thrilled at first when I heard they made a live action movie related to it. Sadly tho I was hugely disappointed once I actually watched the movie. There was absolutely no good parts to this complete disaster of a movie, they did everything wrong, to pronouncing the characters names, to casting the wrong kind of actors for the characters, to the horrible atrocity that was the CGI creatures, and effects. This is what happens when you don't even care about the source material and just wanna make a movie just to cash in on popularity. If you're fan of the show, or not, I'd advise to stay away from this complete dumpster fire of a movie.
Trolljegeren (2010)
One of the best found footage/Mockumentary movies I've seen!
I watched this late one night on Netflix(sadly its not on there anymore) and I was blown away by it.. It was really cool, and fun to watch, and surprisingly terrifying in some parts, who knew that one of the best found footage horror movies in my opinion would be about trolls.. The trolls looked surprisingly horrifying and actually pretty real, story was really dope and made you believe that this stuff was actually happening.. the only downside is that if watch the movie without subtitles and you're not from Norway or speak it, then you're gonna be completely lost about what's going on.. So I recommend watching with subtitles if you're not Norwegian or know and speak the language.. Other than that I highly recommend this movie to anyone, it's definitely worth checking out.
We Bare Bears (2014)
Cute and quirky, and all around fun time.
I'm a 26 year old adult male and I absolutely adore this show, its so cute, and quirky, and its humor isn't all up in your grill like some shows on Cartoon Network sometimes are, it has a very adorable and quirky charm to it. Everytime it comes on Cartoon Network, I always watch it even if its an episode I've seen multiple times.
Ben 10: Race Against Time (2007)
What even..
Does anyone remember those crappy live action Scooby Doo movies, not the ones with Freddie Prince Jr. (those ones were actually good), where they animated Scooby so weirdly that he looked like he didn't belong, well thats what they did in this movie as well, such weird and crappy animation/CG, also the acting was just god awful.. someone needs to make an actually good live action Ben 10 movie pls and ty.
