Futurama: Bendless Love (2001)
They don't make 'em like this anymore
This is my favorite episode of Futurama. The first act has some of the best humor I've ever seen on T.V. ("Hey! It's that guy that you are!") Maybe the show has too much going on with all the different plot lines, and who knows, the episode may have benefited from a little trim here and there; but the sheer quotability of this one makes it so I can watch over and over again. This to me was the height of the show's quality, straight up goofy humor throughout. The new shows are good, (as of this writing, episode 100 from the sixth season aired about two months ago.) but much of the luster has been lost in this viewer's opinion. Anyway, nearly perfect piece of entertainment, if not for story, just for the smart and goofy humor throughout.
Hollow Man (2000)
Not a good movie, so not a good review
POSSSIBLE spoilers below? I'm not really sure what constitutes a spoiler, but nothing is too shocking or otherwise obviously I don't think. Anyway, you've been warned if you haven't seen this, cool? I'm not a movie reviewer. I don't write at all regularly, so bear with me. This film is, frankly, a movie for dumb people. The villain is so obviously apparent from the VERY beginning of the movie, simply because they're a "d*ck". they act in a super cocky and snide manner, peeps on the neighbour across the street; always thinking about themselves, blows up at the drop of a hat yada yada yada. Their 'descent' (I'll use that term VERY lightly.. ) into homicidal madness is as pre-ordained as a WWE match. This is the kind of movie were infinitely complex computer software are just simple graphics that make beeps and boops and displays huge notifications on whatever is happening on the screen for even the most passive viewer to notice. the FX blew us away back in 2000, but even then it was pure cheese. That was even before it devolves into a hackneyed hack and slash thriller, with a LOT of CGI, swingin' dong. Go off and watch it, turn your brain off for an hour and twenty. its good for you sometimes, I guess. Still very frustrating for one who likes to this that they're not a "dumb people." -Biji 1//04/10
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)
Brilliant! funniest film in ages!!
This film is a complete tour de force of wacky, out-there and not least of all CHILDISH comedy! from the very first appearance of the iconic and much-beloved action character wearing FRUITY ELTON JOHN SHADES BY MISTAKE!! to the hilarious (and dated!) "talk to the hand" gags, this film's script and execution is chock-a-block full of gut-busting cracks the whole family can enjoy! eschewing the boring old action hero role of both preceding classic movies, nearly every line uttered by comedic mastermind Arnold Schwarzenegger as "the terminator comedy funbot" had the entire theater literally GROANING with laughter. I can only hope that the next entry in this series finally gets rid of all the LAME action sequences that unfortunately got in the way of the gags in this one. I think that dave chappelle, andy dick and paulie shore would be EXCELLENT choices for different terminator models!!! I can just imagine all the potential pratfalls in the futuristic warzone!!
