The People We Hate at the Wedding (2022)
Dreadful, what more do you need to know
This movie went from mediocre to dreadful in the final scene.
The writing, acting and lack of plot could be forgiven (barely) but making light of people who cannot have children is abhorrent.
The hate between sisters as one couldn't make it to visit the other during her miscarriage due to finding out she couldn't have children herself was sad. For the sister who couldn't have children to have a baby with a baby with her in the final scene with no explanation just seems cruel.
Did she adopt or did she suddenly have a baby because the doctors were wrong? Either way it is tone deaf and not something to make light of.
How did the writer, director and every actor involved not see the issue?
This movie just made me dislike everyone involved.
The Bubble (2022)
Cringe induced snore fest
This movie was not just awful, it was uncomfortable to watch a talented cast act out poor dialogue.
The movie is not relatable at all, well I guess unless you spent your lockdowns in a bubble with lots of vacuous people.
Just don't waste your time.
The Perfection (2018)
Lives up to it's name!
The Perfection is well a perfect mind blowing rollercoaster. From start to finish your mind has tricks played on it keeping you on the edge of your seat. There is outstanding cinematography that adds to the suspense in the most beautiful yet disturbing way.
The writing, directing combination of this film is perfect, one that definitely needs to be replicated for further films.
If you are a fan of suspenseful, intelligent thrillers this movie is for you!!!
Midnight, Texas: Unearthed (2017)
Where one story ends another begins
With only 10 episodes to fill most shows would pick one character to focus on and stick to one story arc, not Midnight, Texas. The writers know what fans want is background and interesting stories for every character. They have delivered on all fronts!
It's halfway through the season (or only 5 episodes in depending on your viewpoint) and we have already gotten to know so many characters and their back stories, yet there are still some that we have only touched upon and I'm left intrigued and wanting more.
One of the best things about Midnight, Texas is that it doesn't drag out story arcs. In this episode we see two ongoing story arcs come to a head and another start to ramp up.
Midnight, Texas: Sexy Beast (2017)
Things are starting to heat up
This episode picked up on so many of the story arcs that had been left unspoken in the previous episode. We finally get to see Olivia at work which further adds to her mystery. Whilst we are following Olivia we are also following Manfred in his quest to stop a succubus and Bobo's arc with the Sons of Lucifer.
During all of these arcs the group still manage to come together as they always do to fight for the town they love.
By the end of the episode you are left needing more, because you know that writers are about to deliver something big that could change Midnight forever.
Midnight, Texas: Lemuel, Unchained (2017)
Fans of Vampire shows and movies are going to love this episode!
With Midnight having already survived so much in the first two episodes you could be led to believe that the writers will slow down a bit, you would however be mistaken.
When a group of Vampires arrives in town the Inhabitants of Midnight are understandably cautious (I would be too if I lived on a veil of mystical energy). The town prepares for the worst whilst Lem catches up with his old friends. And in true Midnight style a lot happens.
This episode we see how Lem became to be, in more ways than one. His back story is so well done and whilst it provides so many answers there are so many questions that leave you wanting more.
Midnight, Texas: Bad Moon Rising (2017)
An insight in to Midnight
This episode we get a further insight in to Midnight and the true powers of some of its inhabitants. Whilst there is already so much for the town to deal with after Aubrey's murder and Bobo's Subsequent arrest a new big bad is introduced.
The relationship between residents and their care for each other is further shown in the hard choices some are left to make to save those that they love the most.
Midnight, Texas: Pilot (2017)
Draws you straight it
Midnight, Texas is a refreshing take on the supernatural genre, whilst some shows may take themselves seriously there are humorous undertones. The pilot provides a high level overview of some of the main characters but you are left with the feeling there is so much more to find out. This is a must a watch series for fans of Grimm and True Blood.
