Friends in Low Places (2024)
Seems petty not liking a show because they are famous
I'm not sure what the other reviewers problem is, but it seems like petty grade school jealousy. I really liked this series/documentary. It was entertaining seeing how wholesome Garth and Trisha are. How they function as a family unit, how they cohesively work together as a married couple. These two clearly have a deep love for each other, even after all these years. They appear to be good natured, kind hearted people who care about their community. For example, they find it a rewarding experience being involved in habitat for humanity building houses for people in need, with an desire to give back to their community, while remembering their home town roots and family values. They have a love of family, God, and church. They back the blue, and have respect for EMS and first responders. Sharing life experience doesn't equate name dropping and virtue signaling. I personally plan on going to Nashville this fall, with the soul purpose of visiting Friends in low places. I intend on eating that delicious Sunday dinner that Trisha has prepared. For me, this shows a win. If you don't like wholesome content, it's probably not for you.
Pompeii (2014)
What a mess
Pompeii was a disaster of a movie, so many things going on at once. I think I actually hated it. Not a good movie. At first I thought this looks decent. It reminded me of a cross of Spartacus and Troy. It's not, not even close.
Cosmic Sin (2021)
A film about the future?
Ok, for 500 years into the future things on earth look exactly the same as they do in 2022. I find it strange that nothing has changed or evolved. Still driving the tired gas guzzlers on the same freeways, talking on the same old phones of the past (2022), even the guns are the exact same. I'm only 5 minutes into this show, I've seen enough. Honestly I think Bruce Willis should have thought long and hard before agreeing to do this movie. It's that awful.
Malignant (2021)
Extremely stupid
I can't believe people are saying this movie was good, actually I can't believe people are saying this movie was unpredictable. I'm going to say this movie was a waste of electricity, predictable from the very beginning. I literally predicted the entire film, from start to finish. I will also add this may be unpredictable if you have a single brain cell. Then maybe you were unable to predict this.
We Were Desperate (2020)
Horrible acting
I never write reviews, but there's always a first time. This short movie may have had only a $300 budget but I am okay with that. It looks surprisingly well for such a small budget. The problem I have is the acting. The over exaggerated facial expressions of the lead actor are really annoying and comical. Yet in such a apocalyptic setting it shouldn't be comical at all. It detracts from the story. I quickly lost interest as soon as I saw the fire truck. The acting is over the top, it's impossible to take seriously. I tried to sit through the movie, and I did. I just can't tell you what the dialogue was. It wasn't until the end of the movie that my interest was back on the characters and not of my phone. If you watch the movie you will know what I mean. I don't want to spoil it for anybody, in the off chance they want to watch this mess. Honestly I wouldn't recommend this movie unless you were looking for some comic relief from 2020.
