To Hell and Gone (2019)
Low budget done well
For an obviously low budget seat of the pants movie, I felt it was done well. Not a great film by any stretch, but told a story that was believable. Held my interest as I knew the locales it was shot in and around being Safford, Klondyke, Willcox and Tucson, Arizona. Decent film nonetheless. The characters were believable but the heist was a bit far fetched for the loot. Definitely a situation movie that can happen on any ranch or remote homestead so it brings in the what-would-I-do scenarios. As a back seat observer, it is easy to criticize but I would say it was worth my time. I've definitely sat through worse higher budget films. Good independent modern day western genre type film.
Trauma Center (2019)
Worst acting by Willis I think I've ever seen.
The premise of this film could be good but this is not a great script and the acting is awful by every character. Willis acts like he's totally loaded or just doesn't care. Guttenberg's job is just as bad. It's like one of those movies a bunch of older actors only do to keep their SAG status and benefits. I'm a huge Willis fan but definitely not this movie. My personal opinion, don't waste your time. Good for a good laugh, I guess.
Bender (2016)
Not worth your time
I live in Cherryvale where these murders took place. This movie is barely based on the real story of what really happened in Montgomery/Labette counties of SE Kansas. The writers didn't even use first hand information from the Cherryvale Historical Museum which has a terrific collection of Bender evidence and stories. I understand not all movies are filmed in the locales depicted but to base your evidence of the murders from a county 125 + miles away is not due diligence. There is not much in this slow wooden film to even begin to understand this family and the horror they really unleashed on SE Kansas...not the Osage which is in Oklahoma. Very disappointing and not worth my time. Thumbs down.
Eye of the Devil (1966)
Loved it!
For it's time, a great movie. Thanks TCM for bringing it to TV.
One note though..in the credits, the family name is listed as de Montfaucon but clearly the characters of Niven and Kerr are being called de la Marquis.????
The Last House on the Left (1972)
B Movie???
The nature of this true film is horrific, scary, and disgusting, the acting from all the actors was truly awful. It's in the same genre of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which was more terrifying and scary. B horror is too nice for this truly awful movie. I warned you.
