4 minutes of great lightsaber action
9 September 2023
For a 4 minute episode, this is nearly perfect. Following Anakin's battle with Asajj Ventress in the forest location they meet in another location where they have a cooler and better fight. I had goosebumps when their bodies had the reflections of the sides they were fighting for and the episode was just greatly shot and something that Disney movies don't do nowadays which is showcase a pretty long lightsaber fight at almost 10 minutes and it was very satisfying to watch. In conclusion, this episode was very worth the watch for pitting an Anakin that is not in his prime yet against an up and coming Sith apprentice in Asajj Ventress and in that sense it delivered.

Heartbreaking
7 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is everything this show could have asked for. Every scene involving a different setting is great, seeing Count Dooku know about Qui Gon's death, and a great fight scene at the end with a darth sidious appearance made this worth it. It was surprising to see them fight at the end as both weren't sure about killing one another first. I can also say that the trilogy of Count Dooku so far in Tales of the Jedi has been great. You can see his growth into transforming into Sith Lord as each episode escalates how much more he turns into the dark side and you can notice that his last straw into turning is when Qui Gon's death is announced.

A step up in a way
7 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was a step up to the previous episode in the way that it has a lot more going on. It has stakes while you knew nothing was gonna happen to Ahsoka because you know what happens in future shows. The fact that they essentially made a villain in the senator and his totalitarian regime made it worthwhile and even bring an interesting character in the senator's son who is not so on his father's side by the end. The fact that there are two jedi characters that we know from Star Wars lore entertained us all the while making up for a good backdrop with the story. Count Dooku almost lashing out by the end was interesting, and the real hero was Qui-Gon. Overall, I give both episodes so far 7.5s/10 for having good animation and a lot more intrigue in the story than it was expected to have.

Cartoon Saloon+ Last Jedi vibes
6 May 2023
Here comes Cartoon Saloon's offering and by their animation standards, they did not disappoint. It sounds repetitive since I pointed it out in a review for another one of the shorts, but it's obvious that studios will look to showcase their animations when dealing with Star Wars. The fact that since every animation studio is different in their own unique way, you can see how they animate Star Wars lore like lightsabers, villains, heroes etc... But the fact that the running time for this was just 15 minutes makes me think it could have been so much more and I don't think this is the studios' fault since shorts in the show run from 14-24 minutes. This is lowkey the only episode I've watched from the 3 I've seen this season that I would want done in an animated movie and I'm not begging for it, I'm just saying it as a compliment to the thought provoking short that could have been so much more with more running time. All props to Cartoon Saloon, and I hope this incentivizes people to see the movies they make which they put all their time and effort they can make. This episode also gave Last Jedi vibes in a good way. I give this episode a solid 7/10 for being something that could have been a lot more.

Definitely liked
5 May 2023
The visual aesthetic in this short is just great. The Spanish vibe painted into it was great along with the main character. Could not have been a better first episode to start the season. I definitely give props to El Guiri Studios (the animation team) from Spain for delivering on creating a Star Wars short embedded with their country of origin. Also love the talented cast that they hired from their country of origin. I thought the main character was fascinating and her sense of mystery is what keeps you engaged with the short. The visual aesthetic during the battle was the best part of the short in my opinion and one of the highlights of the season. Minor complaint that I noticed and I cannot be the only one who did, I noticed that before the battle when the the Sith Master is getting to the main character, there is a close up of him literally walking right in the middle of the open area outside of where they fight, and when the shot changes to the main character who is escaping from him, he is no longer behind her and when the shot changes to him he appears again in the middle. Again, a minor detail that I would have liked added since the shot could have been great of her escaping and him walking behind her in the open area almost like a shot from a Western film from the 70's or the iconic Lawrence of the Arabia shot. Still a fun short that does not disappoint as a first episode. I give this a 7.5/10 and will round it up to an 8 for delivering exactly what a first episode should be: an episode that hooks you for the season, an entertaining episode, and a well told, unique Star wars story.

Cute episode
5 May 2023
A cute episode that did not really need that much of a story since Aardman Animations clearly wanted to showcase their animation (no pun intended) with a slice of Star Wars. Although everything about the short is cute, this really was a rather simple short for fans of Aardman. I have only seen the first episode and this one, and I have at least liked both of them so far. The first season probably had one good episode arguably, and I expect this season to be better since the animation in all the shorts vary, and it is not just one animation genre which was anime in the first season. I give this episode a 7/10 for a simple story with an animation that you will like if you are familiar with the studio.

Hopeful
2 September 2022
First two episodes are good. On a technical aspect, it is quality. A lot of convenient things happen in both episodes, but I'm not gonna complain much about that. Budget is ironically the best thing about the show. You can tell every shot doesn't waste anything. Also liking the story arc of the elf archer that acts like a side mission in a videogame. In conclusion, the show does a good job of balancing like 5 story arcs. Some arcs are more boring than others, but they are entertaining in the grand scheme of things. Morfydd Clark as Galadriel is definitely the standout from the cast and her story proves to be the most important of the bunch while the other 4 or so help the main story in ways we are yet to see. Just hopeful that the season gets better as it goes on.

Better Call Saul: Nippy (2022)
Season 6, Episode 10

Nippy
26 July 2022
After waiting so much for a Gene episode, this episode simply did not disappoint and is in my opinion, phenomenal. The episode is called nippy and it perfectly describes the episode's chilly atmosphere and the suiting black and white photography. This episode did not disappoint simply because it was solving the cab driver's storyline while giving us one of if not the final time we see Gene in his Slippin' Jimmy ways and a final shot that is both metaphoric and touching as Gene looks at himself in the mirror with a suit and tie around him symbolizing him looking back at his old life as Jimmy. This final shot also reminded me of the final shot in Granite State from Breaking Bad which was also tributing Walter White's old life before having looked for a new identity in New Hampshire. That episode also took place during the time Gene leaves for Nebraska so I'm sure there's a connection with both episodes (both states are nippy too). This was also one of the most intense episodes as we feared Gene getting caught and inevitably revealing himself to the police, but this was more of a tribute episode to Gene/Jimmy, and I can't wait to see how much this episodes impacts the upcoming episodes. I feel like this could easily be a 9.5-9.9 episode, but I feel like people are lost in the BCS storyline that it sadly has an 8.9 rating on IMDB.

9.5 when the past two episodes have a 9.8 or above?
20 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Listen, I know what you're thinking. The past two episodes had more action so automatically it has to have a better rating. I'm here to tell you right now that don't let the lower rating of this episode influence your opinion of how a big of a masterclass it is. It served a lot as an eulogy to a lot of the characters and the episode had a perfect pacing that since I watched the episode, it has been engraved in my brain. Not just the demise or downfall of some characters, but how this particular episode is told with no action yet still bringing one of the most flawless near hour of tv I've ever seen. A masterclass that feels like a finale, but isn't and the fact that isn't proves to you that this show is probably the best show on earth right now. The fact that there is still 4 episodes left makes this episode more of a masterpiece in my opinion with lots of story still left to be told. To conlude, the perfect ending. A final scene that everyone knew was going to happen and as we witnessed, cemented this episode as a true masterclass. I cannot wait to see how this show ends.

Attack on Titan: The Dawn of Humanity (2022)
Season 4, Episode 28

Low-key the best episode of the second part.
3 April 2022
This episode was everything you wanted and more. The flashbacks were amazing with so many great moments, and the cliffhanger wasn't as big as the cliffhanger from the final episode of the first part. Whole episode was great, but the final 5 minutes were the cherry on top. Spectacular+ the OST to make it even better. These final 5 minutes were very well done, because they could have just ended it without showing any of the titans, but at least they gave us a taste the Rumbling before having to wait till 2023 for the third part. Hadn't written a review for the second part of this season, but this episode was too great to not do it, and probably because they gave me more than I expected. Hope this stays at a 9.9 or above on IMDB.

Halo: Contact (2022)

Good, but cheesy start
24 March 2022
Without knowing anything about the lore, this episode starts off with very minor buildup. Expected in a pilot episode, but the great pilots have more buildup, I can even use for example Mandalorian's first episode. The action was good, but it felt very cheesy. Scale was much better in the end than in the opening battle. Gore was good, and should be used more as the show goes on (didn't expect to be tv-ma if it is). Episode felt a lot like a CBS show+Star Wars, but with Halo lore. In terms of standouts I would have to go with Schreiber as Master Chief. Although it has okay casting from what I've seen, some of the writing clearly weren't given much effort. Final 5 minutes was also a positive leaving us wanting to see more and we hope they deliver. This episode gets a 7.6/10 for me. 8 episodes left.

This was a slow second episode which is expected from literally every show. After the action packed first episode the second episode is bound to be slow, and although it missed action it made up for good buildup for the upcoming episodes.

New characters are great and previously seen characters make this an episode that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Should have had a bigger roster
23 April 2021
This movie was very entertaining, but way too short. If I had known this movie could be this entertaining, I would have extended its runtime to 20-30 more minutes and give it an actual tournament instead of fights being there because of run ins the characters have. In conclusion, this movie sets up a lot of potential for the sequel. It really could be a lot better and the roster should be a lot more than what this movie had. Honestly wish it could have been better and by the time you finish the movie you really feel like it needed like 20-30 more minutes or a second part immediately kind of like Lord of the Rings where they were released one year apart. But since they didn't shoot it back to back because they are depending on this one being a success we are left with hunger for the sequel and we are left with no taste for a lot of time because the sequel is probably releasing in 2-3 years and that is if this movie is a success. Now I get why this franchise could have worked a lot better as a show of 2-3 seasons of 10 episodes. I also think a lot of the "deaths" in the movie were meaningless because at the end we don't know if they get resurrected for the sequel. If we are being honest there was probably one official death from the roster in the movie and it kind of doesn't leave any stakes for this movie if they really stay alive for the sequel.

Perfect conclusion
8 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This wrapped one of the best seasons I've ever seen. Every storyline wrapped up perfectly that even if the show isn't quite over yet, you could still make an argument that the show could end here. Them finally getting to the sea and seeing something else outside the walls was satisfying. This episode reminds me a lot of "Winds of Winter" from Game of Thrones, and I can really tell the influence of Game of Thrones on this show.

Deserves a 10.0 as much as last episode's "Hero"
8 April 2021
This episode was an emotional rollercoaster. Trying to see who they would choose to revive was nothing short of emotional considering they were two of my favorite characters, but it opened the question as to who they should really revive. This is like a classic episode of Game of Thrones of trying to see who is good and who is bad. A perfect episode that deserves as much merit as the last episode. How could I not know that an animated show would be able to pull so many heartstrings?

As close to perfect as possible
8 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I haven't seen every episode in the world, but this is as close to perfect as I have ever seen. Never thought I would say something could match the likes of Lord of the Rings. It's the most cinematic episode I've ever seen with maybe "Battle of the Bastards" being alongside it for obvious reasons, but for an animated episode to do this is even more shocking. It would be hard for someone to imagine an animated episode being as cinematic as an HBO production and this episode made it possible. This episode was also very emotional as two of my favorite characters' (Armin and Erwin) lives were on the line. I even cried when Armin was gonna make the sacrifice. It was also sad to see Erwin's unfortunate plan come to fruition, but he did it knowing it was for a greater good. I also loved the parallels of all the main characters sacrificing themselves in this episode.

The perfect game
7 April 2021
Erwin's masterplan is revealed, but at a cost. It was sad to see that casualties had to be sacrificed in order to win the war, but isn't that what wars are about? As Erwin and Levi both agreed on, it was inevitable that there would be so many casualties. This was a near-perfect episode with a flawless cliffhanger.

Great episode with a great cliffhanger. Erwin formulates a plan to deviate Reiner from killing the horses by using Eren as bait. This episode also proved that the scouts were well prepared by making the thunder spears because they learned the blades couldn't do anything to Reiner, but the war still hasn't been won and Bertholdt is nowhere to be found.
