Reviews
The Wicker Man (1973)
The Wicker Man is a very clever horror flick
The Wicker Man is not your traditional horror movie, it's a slow burn movie and it didn't may scare you but it made you feel frightened for its character, it unfold it's mystery very patiently and cleverly but the thing is I already predicted the ending before even finished it and this is a movie that seems like trying to shock you by its ending.
While watching the film it always made me curious what will happen next, this film wasn't scary but was still horrifying, the naked dancing scenes and the signings were particularly very horrifying. The themes of the film are very interesting, I knew what was going to happen but that never let my enjoyment go down, every moment of the film was engaging.
City Lights (1931)
Such a beautiful movie in every way
City Lights is my debut of Charlie Chaplain's filmography, I'm not used to silent movies yet but I definitely can say City Lights is a great start for me. While I didn't laugh a but was still funny and it was heartwarming, it actually made me care about the characters and their relationship, the movie made me happy and sad at the same time. This movie is almost 90 years old and yet I never felt once that it outdated, while watching the movie I realised how to this film or maybe Chaplain particularly inspired many movies and also many cartoons. This movie has lots of memorable moments that will remembered forever in film history.
Dark Waters (2019)
It could've been better
Dark Waters was an enganig movie, the performances actually helped a lot to carry this film. Well I didn't like some of the dialogues in this film mostly because it really feels overused in this types of movie and there is also some cliche stuff like a faithful wife and some others. The technical elements are good and the film never felt boring and sometimes you actually root for these characters but there is a big problem that this movie didn't made me feel really sorry for the people, yeah it made me feel that what Dupont is doing terrible but I never felt it made me care about peoples life.
