Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
Obi-Wan is coming back
I enjoyed seeing Obi-Wan come back to who he wass. I totally undestand why he felt dejected and depressed.in the first episodes. I mean he worked alongside a raised him only for him to turn to the dark side. Every single Jedi is wiped out. Does anyone realize how painful that is? This episode was about how much he had to use the force if he was going to help rescue Leia. It makes so much sense that he would find the will to fight around Leia. I gave it a 10/10 because it embrace who Obi-Wan is. I can't wait to see what happens next week.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian (2022)
The best episode so far without Boba Fett.
This episode was so outstanding. The minute Din Jarin came onto the scene, I knew this would be stellar. The episode was fast paced and intense from the first minute to the last. However, I had to keep reminding myself that this was the book of Boba Fett, but yet I kept seeing this Mandalorian episode. I loved how you knew that there was going to be a butt beating when Din says "I can bring you in warm or I bring you in cold." The action begins and it never stops. I know he is missing Grogu and he cannot wheel the dark saber. That said, I believe it is only a Jedi could teach him how to use it. That is where Luke can come in handy. I hope that he teaches Din how to handle the dark saber. It would be epic in my opinion. If you are a total Mandalorian fan, the episode will not disappoint.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021)
The series was well done. Too many people did not understand the villian's goals
I thought this show had a lot of spark and energy. It was well written, especially for all the difficulties that this series went through, it did well. I feel the chemistry between the actors who play Falcon and Winter Soldier was great. I want to share my concern about the negative reviews. I see some people are saying the plot. I get that because the story had to be changed due to similarities to the pandemic. However, the comments that it was too politically was outrageous. This is what I find interesting: if Falcon who is a black man shares his experience and what life would be like as a black person, it's political. On the other hand if Wanda Maximoff has relations with an inanimate object and her desires for it, that's wonderful storytelling. That's a great storyline. I am shock and appalled. They said the villian was not as strong. There have been several villians in the MCU who were not so strong but that did not mean the plot was weak.
Here is Carly's mission in the series: she wanted to restore things the way it was during the blip. People were united as one people and one world without political borders. Her cause does get blurred. Her means of going about it was to attack the GRC(Global Reparation Comittee) because they were trying to figure out how to put all these displaced people back in home and fed. Unfortunately, people were not getting enough supplies and food. Remember when half the universe was destroyed people on planet Earth helped one another. Carly wanted it back that way. Also GRC was favoring one group over the other. The power broker gave Carly the means to get what she wanted. Carly needed to be stopped due to her insane tactics (not due to her goals). Can the Falcon and Winter Soldier stop her or will she succeed in destroying the GRC? Will Carly succeed in getting one world and one people again.
The story arc for John Walker was amazing. He truly changed throughout the series. I loved Zimo in this series as well. He was the same Zimo in the Civil War, but he is more fleshed out in this series. The story, the characters and the action were fun and great.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: One World, One People (2021)
A good wrap up to an amazing season.
This episode was very well done. It was the culmination of all the episodes with reveals. The story picks up right where episode 5 ends which is the Flag smashers have taken over the building where the GRC leaders are trying to make a decision on the displaced people. These are world leaders and the Flag smashers have nothing, but terror on their minds or do they? Sam and Bucky have to take down these terrorists with a little help from some friends. The story left me feeling happy to see a new super hero on the scene. The end credits left me upset and a little confused, but hopefully it was get clearer in the new season. The music was powerful because it really helped to tell the story. Overall, this was a good wrap up to an amazing season.
What If... (2010)
It is the Family Man movie
I could not believe how much this story is a Xerox copy of the Family Man with Nicholas Cage and Tea Leone. The only difference is the story puts God in the story. You might think that the theme is It's a wonderful Life, but once you see Family Man. This movie is the Nicholas Cage story. Maybe the Family Man took the theme of It's a Wonderful Life, but What if...? copied Family Man. I fell in love with this movie when I first saw it. I read here on IMDB that it seemed like it was a combination of It's a Wonderful Life and Family Man. I rented the Family Man movie. It is so similar that it's scary. I highly recommend the movie but the storyline is Family Man. They just added God and put an angel in the story. I would recommend see this and Family Man and you decide.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020)
What a rescue!!
There is such a double meaning to this title. This episode was the episode to end all episodes. I don't know how they can top this in the next season. The storyline was solid. It had a strong storyline and strong character development from start to finish. Spoiler: I don't care that the Mandalorian plays to the fans. This episode one of my all time favorite Star Wars character in the way he should have been portrayed. I'm in love with this series. I can't get enough of it. It always leaves me wanting more. I have to admit this second season just was so hot. If you have been following the story it is basically Mandalorian with his friends attempt to rescue Grogu. However, the end up needing rescue. I was jumping up and down and screaming at the screen. It made me so elated and happy in one moment and cry like a baby the next. That's great writing and great story telling. Not only was this story about an epic rescue, it is also about how the Mandalorian rescued Disney after those abyssmal sequels.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 6: The Prisoner (2019)
It had a dark knight feel
I was so impressed with this episode. By this time, I was impressed with the whole season. It was so outstanding how the villians were toying with Mando throughout the episode and then double cross him. So, Mando goes rogue and it becomes and cat and mouse game. It gets really good when the lights go out. That's when it had a dark knight feel. Batman does his comes up and gets you. Mando does a lot of that. I liked how he made them think they had the upper hand.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 10: The Passenger (2020)
Excellent story, special effects, and action! Definitely moves the story.
I am sorry but anyone who says this is a filler episode needs to watch it again. The purpose of season 2 is for Mando to find other Mandalorians who can help him transport the child to his people. He does not know where the child's people are. So, he is looking for his own people instead. The frog lady said that her husband met some Mandalorians where he was staying. So, maybe helping her will help him. It was not a filler. The story is solid from beginning to end. I could follow it. I had difficulty with two issues. The fact that baby Yoda was eating the last of her species and the transitions. They kept fading to black. With all their technology, I wish they had better transitions. The CGI was almost seemless that I could not see any difference. I mean you know the frog is a CGI, but it did not seem like it. My major recommendation is do not see this at night if movies scare you. I saw it in the middle of the day.
Olympus Has Fallen (2013)
A Die Hard look alike
This movie waaay too similar to Die Hard. I hear others talking about a movie called White House down, but hear me. Die Hard's storyline is some terrorists take over a building and make demands during a Christmas office party. They want the code to a safe from the leader of the company which is similar to these terrorists want the code from the president. Then it becomes a blood bath. Bruce Willis' character is hiding while the terrorists look for him. In Olympus has Fallen, the same idea, terrorists take over the White House. They demand the code from the president to launch missiles and then a lone character is hiding while the terrorists look for him. It's either he finds them and kills them or they find him and kill him. If you cannot see how similar the Die Hard theme is in this movie, watch Die Hard again after watching this movie. It's sad because the idea of Olympus has fallen is not original. The movie is bland because the idea is so over used.
Malibu Dan the Family Man (2017)
The laugh track is off the charts
I love stupid comedy. Anything that is just ridiculous is hysterically funny, but the laugh track in this series is off the charts. The humor is lost. There are times when I am watching the show where I can't hear a word the actors are saying because the laugh track overpowers the scene. Don't get me wrong. I love David A. R. White. He has wonderful talent, but you need a comedian to do comedy, especially in a situation comedy. The cast is wonderful and they do work well together. However, if you had one strong comedian who could deliver the lines, you wouldn't need so many laugh tracks.
