John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
GREAT CINEMA EXPERIENCE
This movie is so nice. The action scenes are incredible amazing choreography and they don't afraid to let every action scenes goes on for a long time too. Which might be problem for some people but I didn't get bored at all. It's so colorful and so nice to look at and they also change location a lot so there's a lot of variety and creative fight scenes.
In this movies they also introduce a lot of new characters and they're all awesome . My favorite character is Donnie Yen he's is really charismatic and got a creative way of fighting and he's appear throughout the whole movie not just some side character that studio give a little screen time just to get some quick money from a fan.
The story I think it's better than quite a few people said. It's not a masterpiece in story telling or anything but it's fun. The pacing is nice. It's have a lot of cool character moments. It's not waste to much time to get you from action to action scenes and I think it's conclude in a satisfying way. Lot of funny stuff too.
If i had to nitpicking I'd say the villians is not that great but the real antogonist is Donnie Yen anyway. And there's a few time you just have to suspend disbelief a little bit like a dance culb scene for example. They go for amazing aesthetic and not so much a realistic depiction.
Oh and the use of soundtrack and music is awesome.
All and all just a really fun action well shot film that will keep you entertained for nearly 3 hours and this come from a guy that's not an action movie fan. Highly recommended.
8.5/10.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
As expected from Disney
This ep looks like a stealth mission video game on easy mode, the whole ep just feels dumb down, emotionless, cliche at time, the characters made stupid decisions, It has a lot of plot convenience, Reva character is not that interesting, While I might not hate her like other people, I do agree that her place in the show is questionable, to say the least, I could try to nitpick a ton of things on this ep but I don't feel like wasting my time.
But the thing I hate the most about this episode is that they make Stromtropper wayyyy stupid, right now they not threatening at all and seem like a joke, Disney always do this on Star Wars series and I don't know why.
This episode has a few good things like the opening scene which parallel Obiwan and Vader that I like but other than that, what can I say it's Disney.
This series could have been amazing, they could have taken the time to explore Obiwan psychology and trauma, but they did little to nothing about that and chose to spend more time on uninteresting stuff .
But they always gonna continue to made this kind of things because a lot of people guve them an easy pass and just love everything they made.
Hunter x Hunter: Revenge × and × Recovery (2014)
yes Gon lacks experience, THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT
What do you expect 13 years who just lose the first important person which is like a father figure for him to do? The teenager who always sees the good and evil in a weird way, when he sees the "thing" that kill Kite, the thing that made him go back to train just to lose and realize how weak he is, the thing that made him feel the anger like never before, the thing that supposed to be just pure evil and heartless, the thing that he wants to get revenge for the longest time, healing a wound girl...
his world crumbling apart, he's just doesn't understand, he's never experiencing a situation like this before, he's not Kurapika who has experience trauma like this, has time to grow and know what's really important to him.
When Pitou begs him to give her time for healing Komugi, he dosen't know why the being that made Kite this way is capable of healing others, when Killua told him to calm down he dosen't know why Killua can be this calm and not have overwhelme feeling of frustration like him, and the way Pitou break her bone is just putting more pressure on the way Gon fixated views of Pitou before. How the hell does a teenager that lives carefree on his island for the majority of his life know how to deal with this heavy stuff?
Gon doesn't always have a perfect mindset, he's sometimes selfish, stubborn, let emotion guide him rather than logical thinking, and too determined to do 1 thing, which comes back to bite him in this arc, and that's why I love him, he's just not a typical good nature protagonist that can never be too unlikable. Usually, when the protagonist goes "crazy", the others show still want to make them look cool, not Gon tho, and the way Gon develops throughout the arc and parallels with Muruem is simply incredible.
But in the end, can you blame him? He's just a kid, he's has a flaw but that makes him feel real to me, he's still one of my favorite protagonists ever after 4 years of finishing the show.
The chimera ant arc is still my favorite arc of all time and this episode is the crowning achievement, the animation is perfectly captured Gon emotion, the voice acting from Gon is probably one of the best I've ever heard, this is a huge turning point for Gon and to realize that this may be the set up since Yorknew arc(which Gon doesn't want Kurapika to be a killer but in turn, be that thing himself when he has to face what Kurapika goes through) I can't praise this episode enough.
Hunter X Hunter is still one of the best shows I've ever seen and thanks for reading!
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 7: In the Name of Honor (2022)
Amazing, Disney done it again!
So... I am speechless...
from the first scene, we got cyberpunk gang told Boba to shut up about his stupid idea, great like we need more scenes to made Boba look stupid, "The Palace offers greater protection" yeah? Like when some Wookie can just easily get in and almost ki- hurting your back a bit by throwing you around?
Then the action starts and it's a disaster
Boba has almost no plan at all to protect the town, except one time when the plot reminds him at the right time to make Boba go get Rancor and ride him around destroying the city in the process intentionally(but it was cool right??????? The building goes Bawmmmm) other than that this episode he's almost useless and just get slaps around by everyone
I love when the series shows the vulnerability of the main character, like Daredevil, for example, but what they did with Boba is honestly pathetic, he can't do anything except shoot the minion and wait for the right time the plot wants to make him "cool", I get it, he's old and not good like he's used too, but there is definitely a better way to do this, and still make him badass.
And the action is terrible, there is not a single time I feel the stakes of the story or think any characters might die, but of course, it's Disney, Disney doesn't do anything but play safe, you think the cyberpunk girl gonna die? No, Disney just wants to make her a cool and badass character that doesn't get hurt at all, because then it's show her vulnerability and she wouldn't be as cool right? But Krrsantan can get shot like 50 times tho because he's a Wookie he'll be fine, and it's also funny that's the "GREAT" Krrsantan can get easily overwhelmed by like 5 guys and still use a gun when a bunch of them get close lol, but it's fit with the stupidity of him in episode 3.
The same goes for a lot of characters too, I don't remember Free Town people got to shoot like once, and we are supposed to feel the epicness and intensity of the action scenes?
There's a lot to nitpicks about the action scene, there's a misplace comedy scene, I don't even want to get to them all, The big droids, whatever name it is that The Pikes bring can't aim for life, even when people just running away with no cover at all, and it's so boring that the majority of the action scene is spend with them, they bring Cad Bane back just to make him lose in the most pathetic way possible and he's supposed to be like the best assassin in Star Wars universe?
Rancor scared of fire is funny but if it wouldn't for this scene we wouldn't get "cool" Baby Yoda uses force moment, right? And it's disappointing that we see the Mando and Grogu reunion in this mash together abomination of an episode
and after all of Boba incompetent, it's surreal that we got to see the town people respect him, The man that has no plan to protect the town at all in the almost entirely of the series, he's just sit and walk around, take helmet off and waiting for stuff to happened, and even if he has, it's usually failed miserably(like when the 3 houses or whatever betray him in this episode)
3/10 episode I don't care, called me a hater if you want, downvote if you dislike my review, but thanks for reading! And if you have fun with this episode, that's great, I envy you, I might sound nitpicking but trust me I do really want to have fun with this episode, I just can't.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian (2022)
Best episode by far
This episode is kinda good. Even if it's not involve any of Boba at all. And maybe that's a good thing, because Mando even with all the problem it have, Din is far more interesting than Boba. He's tough. He's seem cold, he don't put up with stupid stuff, but deep down he's also have a soft heart. While now Boba is just some stupid goody two shoes that love animal with no nuance at all.
This episode we learned a bit about Mandalorian lore and it was cool with some really great visuals. The fight scenes are fine with this episode. Even when the enemies are just stupid and aiming Mando at the plot armor oh I mean just armor like usual. But we know a lot of SW fans don't care about that. We also see a new cool place. And the building ship montage granted is a bit long but i don't mind it. At least it got personality with a human character with emotion and a cute droid. It may be a little thing. But it's this kind of thing that does not keep the show wooden unlike other episodes of Boba.
And yeah the flying scenes with Naboo were cool. Is this episode filled with nostalgia bait? Yes. But at least it's more interesting than other episodes.
But good god 9.4 rating? Not a single one of the opening episodes in every season of Breaking Bad gets this high of a score. Some SW fans are sure to be easy to please. But it's what it is.
While this episode did not do a lot of things and spent a lot of time on the ship building part, it also didn't take too many miss steps like other episode. I probably get a lot of down votes already for giving this episode a 7/10 but oh welp... lol.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
The Life of Star Wars
I miss the old SW, have so much soul SW
creative and bold SW, real subvert expectation SW
I hate the new SW, the bad script SW
Trilogy didn't plan SW, tell off the fans SW
I miss the sweet SW, have so much soul SW
I gotta to say at that time I'd like to watch SW
See inspire by SW, it wasn't any SW
And now I look and look around and there's so many SW?
I used to love SW, I used to love SW
I even had SW figure, I thought I love SW
What if Disney made a movie about SW
Ruined magic of SW, man that would suck for SW
That's all it was SW, I don't think I love SW
And I love SW like Disney loves SW.
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm (2022)
It's enjoyable for what is it
This is better than episodes 1 and 3 I can say that, this episode explains how Boba met Fennec and goes on a journey together before the event of Mandalorian, I think the episode did kinda good job of fleshing out Boba and Fennec relationship and getting a better glimpse of "good guy" persona of Boba whether you think it's fit with his character now or not.
I always like an episode where the show gives a breathing moment for character interaction so we get to know and care for a character better, and while this episode is not like the best episode of all time, I think it's nice.
But still, there is still some questionable thing that occurs in this episode, did Boba not remember that he getting out of Sarlacc pit with his armor? And why didn't he kill it before searching, oh of course then we wouldn't get a Sarlacc jump scare and cool fight moment to please the fan even if it sacrificed logical thinking.
And are we supposed to like Black Krrsantan? Not only he's the worst assassin of all time as we see in episode 3(and it's nice to see people trying to defend that scene so much lol) but he's also hot-headed, that like violence? Ok, I mean sure...
other than that this episode is fine, as I said I like the Boba and Fennec scene, the action is also fine too, at least I didn't see much stupid stuff unlike the last episode, I did think the revenge on Nikto gang is kinda underwhelmed, and I did not like Black Krrsantan that much but other than that it's an enjoyable experience that not bored me too much.
Oh and I don't like how Boba talks so highly of sand people so much when they're enslaved and beat up Boba until they find out he's useful, why didn't they make sand people not so much of an asshole in the first place?
Ousama Ranking (2021)
so underrated, one of the best of the year
Man... this anime is so good, Ôsama Ranking is about Bojji a prince that wants to be a king but he's can't hear can't talk also lacks strength, so everything's going against him and he's on his quest to improve himself.
From the art style this anime may look like a kid show but trust me it's more complex than you would think, of course, it's about a king and kingdom so there's some politics involved, and this show also has more than a few violent scenes, the story gets very real sometimes.
Bojji the protagonist is so well written he may look like a typical nice cry a lot cutesy protagonist but the anime did a good job not hitting you too much with these archetypes so a lot of time he's just come out really natural and sweet, and he's not stupid or dense either he's smart and have a talent, but the show did a great job at keeping him an underdog.
And a lot of characters have surprisingly complex characters, like his side character Kage I also thought would be your typical "funny" useless sidekick but no he's really well written and very useful, the show did a good job fleshing out other characters too, so they're all very interesting unique and usually have some debt.
And the world is really great, this world seems to have interesting and deep lore, unexpected things happen a lot that will keep you guessing.
Other than that the animation is of course fantastic studio WIT working their heart out on this, the soundtrack is good, overall just a really nice looking show, nothing to complain.
In the end, this is a very maturing show but is also a very fun light heart show that mix together incredibly well, character is unique and have an unexpected debt to it, right now I'm only at episode 7 but I can't wait to keep watching more of it and I will keep updating the review if my opinion ever change.
Highly recommended 9/10(for now) and thanks for reading!
Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (2016)
the fact that this only get 8.1 is a crime
I think re:zeo is a great show since ss1.and now that the 2 parts of ss2 finished i can safely say, it's might on it way to be a masterpiece, it's story about the main protaginist that can return after death, like in video when you die and return to checkpoint, the more you go the more checkpoint keep progressing, the characters in this show are unreal, like our protaginist Subaru, i remember in the first ss a lot of people hate him and i don't know why, he's just a normal guy that goes to the fantasy world that he don't understand and just try his best to make the right things, but struggle and suffering for it, i think the show does a good job showing how lonely and desperate Subaru really are, and in ss2 we see his past and reason why he's the way he is and it's wonderful, and other character too have amazing characters development espacially in ss2, the story is also great and it's staring to get more complex as you go, the world is interseting, the music phenomenal, the show is already great in ss1 but man ss2 did change a lot of things and make the show go to another level, completely make you change a perspective on some characters and it have a lot of meaningful message that it's trying to say too, just all around amazing show, higly recommend it.
The Man from Earth (2007)
probably low budget flim as it's best
First 5-10 minute i watch i don't know what i'm getting myself into. i don't know anyrhing about the plot at all except it's a sci-fi movies. but this movie also look really cheap and dosen't feel like sci-fi movie. tbh i really thing i watch the wrong movie at first lol. but as i continue to watch and the plot slowly progress my mind just got blown. how can a flim that just fliming in 1 location and relied on dialouge can be this captivating. any problem i have in the beginning is completely throw out the window after i realize it's foreshadowing. i don't want to tell you anything about the story but if you are a patient movie watcher that can watch a slow movies and appreciate a good dialouge. espacially if you like historical stuff. give this flim a try. you might not get what is it in the first 10 minutes or so. but as the flim building it's mystery. give us question and answer. make you think. maybe you're gonna glued to this flims like i did
The Mandalorian (2019)
when did people gonna realize?
This show have potential but instead of doing thier own original thing. the show is filled with fanservice trope and plothole. action scene are terrible. storm trooper only just running to getting shot and hesitate to shoot a gun all the time. why give armor to stromtrooper at all if all it take is just a kick to get stormtrooper knock out. protaginist would just runing around no worry because his (plot)armour would just deflect everything. main characters are lame. villian are also stupid and lack dept. when did show trying to be deep and serius it's fail miserable because the lack of character development like in ss 2 ep 7. also the plot progress so slowly it made every ep seem like a filler except like the last 5 minutes when the show tell the plot to characters. prople are just looking at fanservice and ignored all the flaw and that's just sad. well atleast the show look really nice and high budget. the soundtrack is also relatively good except that edgy dark trooper dupstep. i like the idea of relationship between baby yoda and mando. too bad it's not flesh out at all and mando just left baby yoda a lot so it's just not feel earned. well that's the compliment a can give i guess
Hunter x Hunter: This Person × and × This Moment (2014)
And now my tears are becoming a sea...
Usually i don't rate an episode let alone write review on it but damn this got to be one of the best episode i've ever watch in my entire life not just anime but tv show in general, this is the second last episode of Chimera Ant arc and it's conclude everything in this arc perfectly from charecters devolopment story and emotion, Muream is one of the best charecters in all of the anime for sure, Chimera Ant arc is probably one of the best arc i've ever watch in anime, and Hunter x Hunter is one of the best anime i've everseen.
Doki Doki Literature Club! (2017)
Wanna write some poem? then try this game
Doki Doki Literature Club! is a game about literature club and that is the only thing you shold know about it, Right now the game have a massive hype, everyone talking about it and i'm a lucky person because i just found this game on steam, I have no hype or no expectation i just want to play it because it's got a good review and well... i was blown away by this game, I don't want to say much because the least you know is better and i don't want to be that guy that over hype it, If you like visual novel and then give this game a try, may be you will get something out of it a lot more than you think.
