Better Call Saul: Saul Gone (2022)
Season 6, Episode 13
10/10
Buckle up, buttercups!
12 May 2023
You probably won't believe this but I was probably one of the only people on the planet who did not watch Breaking Bad unti recently - and it's 2023!

And full disclosure - I am a grandma, so there's that!

And despite all the rave reviews & hooplah, I just didnt think I would like it. The violence, the drugs.

But for whatever reason, I FINALLY took the plunge and watched the entire show. And I LOVED it! Obviously, I had to watch Better Call Saul next and I just finished. Last night. And oh - I've rewatched the ending now 3 times. I did not want to miss a thing!

I'm at a loss as to how to fully explain this series as a gazlillion other reviewers have done. Yes, BCS is perhaps slower than BB, but the character development was superb. You will fall in love with - or love to hate - each of the main characters.

All along, I kept dreading the finale. Not only because of the affection I had for Jimmy/Saul and Kim, but I was afraid the ending would ruin the entire series as many season finales often do. But my fears were unfounded. Better Call Saul's ending was fantastic! I could not have asked for a better finale.

If you are one of the few people who have not seen this show in its entirety, do yourself a favor. Watch! This ole' granny assures you - you will love it.

How does each episode get better and better???
1 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
OK. Here's the thing. It's 2023 and I'm obviously very late to the party!

Since so many compare this show to Breaking Bad, I am probably the only person on the planet who didn't watch Breaking Bad until last year. And yes, it is everything everyone said it was. I wanted to binge-watch a show that was comparable to BB - if possible. Mr. Robot was recommended so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Season 3 was fantastic and Season 4? Each episode this season is better than the last. How is it possible the writers, actors and the director continue to get better and better with each and every episode when the last one was perfect? I have literally had to hit the "pause" button at least once during each of the episodes this season - to catch my breath!

This particular episode explains so many things. Why did E really jump out that window so long ago? Why did he have a baseball bat and tell his sister to hide in the closet? We finally learn the answer in this extremely emotional episode.

This brilliant show will be over soon. And I am dreading it....

WOW! What a RIDE!
27 February 2023
Buckle up, buttercups!!! You are in for a helluva ride!

Who knew a television series would have you on the edge of your seat for the entire time? I felt like I was watching a heart-pounding, uber-expensive action thriller flick with my eyes covered half the time! I wanted to watch - but I just couldn't! And oh - did I mention - all of this mind-boggling tension took place with barely a spoken word??!! How is that even possible?

Truth be told - I literally had to hit "pause" a couple of times - or more - to catch my breath!

If you are looking for an adventure, you've come to the right place!

What a shame!
2 February 2023
Well, it's 2023 and I'm late to the party! I just finished binge-watching this series for the first time.

Dianne Wiest was brilliant and her on-screen hubby, played by James Brolin, was loads of fun to watch. All in all, I enjoyed this show - until Season 4. Did the writers just get up and go before the actors? The last two episodes were so dissapointing and the finale was just plain awful. What a shame!

If you haven't watched the show yet - either stick with the first 3 seasons and skip season 4 - or just skip it entirely and watch Parenthood or Brothers and Sisters - both fantastic shows!!!!!!

Ummmmm.... Speechless!
11 November 2022
After living in Hawaii as a kid, the beautiful scenery and the soundtrack - which was filled with Hawaiian songs - wonderful!!

But after just finishing the last episode in Season One - I am actually speechless! Seriously speechless! I'm still trying to wrap my head around what I just watched! I don't know if I hated it - or loved it in a sick kind of way.

This is one of those shows you are either going to love or hate. But if you decide to give it a whirl, don't read the reviews first. And whatever you do, make sure the little ones in your life are not in the room while you watch The White Lotus.

Holy cow!
8 October 2022
Hold your horses, y'all. This was one of the best episodes I've seen in a long, long time! I literally got goosebumps! (So glad I bingewatched so I didn't have to wait for a season to find out what happened!)

So, if you are like me - one of the last people in the country who refused to watch Yellowstone - you are missing a fantastic series with gorgeous scenery, an amazing storyline with characters you love - and love to hate. And of course, there is the amazing Kevin Costner!

Yes it is brutal in places but it will also bring tears to your eyes. Just make sure to have that Kleenex nearby.

Just watch. Giddy up, cowboy!

Fantastic!!!!
10 May 2022
I just watched No Time to Die and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. I cannot understand why there are so many bad reviews for this film.

If you want action - you got it!

If you want beautiful cinematogrophy - you got it!

If you want romance - you got it!

If you want closure - you got it.

In fact, this Bond film was one of my favorites! Please ignore the Debbie Downers and watch! Just have the Kleenex ready!

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
17 April 2022
It is 2022 and I am probably one of the last people on the planet to watch Breaking Bad. I held off all these years because I knew it would be brutal. It was.

BUT the characters. The story. The actors. Perfection. And unlike many series - the ending was perfect. I literally have tears running down my cheeks as I replay the final moments. Again and again. And oh - I'm in my 60s. Badfinger closing the final scene - bravo.

I wished I hadn't waited so long to watch this show but, in the end, so very glad I finally did. Breaking Bad is one of the best television series ever made.

RUN!
18 March 2022
I am one of the few humans who did not watch Breaking Bad when it originally aired.

After a slew of people repeatedly emplored me to, well, bite the bullet, I finally caved. It is now 2022.

Season 1 - ok. Season 2- better. Season 3 - WOW! This is now the second episode I felt compelled to review - in Season 3.

If you are like me - and didn't want to embark on this journey for whatever reason, please, reconsider. Is it grusome? Yup. Is it brutal? Yup. But is it worth it? YOU BET!

WOW!
17 March 2022
It is 2022. Despite so many people encouraging me to bite the bullet, so to speak, I put off watching this show for years - assuming it would be far too brutal.

While Season 1 was ok, I decided to keep watching.

Season 2 was better. And Season 3 - excellent. But this episode - perfection. Yes - it is brutal - but I may even watch it again!

Fair warning: I am balling my eyes out!
30 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This 10 episode mini-series is dark, yet uplifting and inspiring at the same time.

As someone who, like many of you, lived thru some terrifying moments, MAID can be very difficult to watch. But it also felt quite real. And honest. The main character, who is the real-life daughter of her on-screen mom, Andie MacDowell, was brilliant. Everything that could go wrong - did.

But in the end, this magnificent woman, did it. She followed her heart She worked her ass off and, despite it all, ended up having her happiest day.

Watch it!

Were animals harmed in this episode?
18 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
While hunting was - and is - a part of life for many, anytime I see animals slaugthered in a movie or television show, I always wonder if any "real" animals were harmed while filming.

Many people are unaware that MANY animals are injured or die in films - despite there being some precautions in place today.

While I looked forward to this particular episode, due to the hunting down of a magnificent creature - for sport - then injuring the poor thing, this episode is worthy of a 0. There was NO NEED to include this in this episode.

WHAT is HAPPENING???????!!!!!
17 October 2021
This episode is so bad it deserves a 0! No, less than a 0! It's like a bad acid trip! It reminds me of the Blacklist episode that was animated!

Did the writers all quit? Go on strike?

Do yourself a favor - skip this episode and fast forward to the next.

NO wonder NBC DUMPED this HORRID series!
13 July 2021
This is the STUPIDEST television series I have seen in my entire life - and I'm 63!

Freelance writer, here. WHO wrote this garbage? Seriously - first graders - or my dog - could come up with a better script. Each episode is more insane and stupid than the previous.

I have never seen any of these actors and despite the bad writing, I did actually like a few of the characters. But everything else - awful. Just plain awful!

I have two shows to go before this thing ends. I keep hoping there will be a miracle and Manifest will somehow turn around. Unless that happens, this show deserves a negative rating! Stupid is far too kind!

Wanna know who RED is???
3 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Like most reviewers here, I have watched The Blacklist since its inception.

I had no idea what to expect with this last episode. While the writing has suffered over the past season or two, this episode - excellent! It literally brought me to tears despite not being a fan of Elizabeth!

Someone suggested rewatching the ending - for answers. I did. I'm pretty certain I know who Red is. If I'm right - the answer was there all along. And for 8 seasons, it never dawned on me. Watch the ending - again. And again. And perhaps you'll figure it out, too!

Blown away!
21 May 2021
First of all - WOW!

Rarely at a loss for words, this episode totally blew me away! While this series may be a bit gritty for some, the acting, the storyline, the characters - flawless.

And damn it - immediately went to watch the next episode but it has not been released yet!

My recommendation? Run - don't walk - to watch this show. You will not be disappointed!

Warning: Spoilers
Full disclosure - I am not into sci-fi flicks but due to the actors, I thought I'd give it a shot. The movie was pretty good - UNTIL.......

As a former newspaper columnist and freelance writer - I loathe movies that end like this! It's as if the writers just give up, leave or run out of words. Don't waste your time on this one, folks! Seriously.

Wonderful tribute to a beloved actor. RIP Clark Middleton
20 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Blacklist is back! After just finishing this episode moments ago, the typical storyline is forgotten and instead, replaced with a beautiful tribute to the quirky and beloved character, Glen, played by Clark Middleton.

I am so very glad they did this - instead of just a mere mention of his passing. I loved Glen - and his complicated yet humorous relationship with Red. He played a pivotal part in this television show. I hope he is watching - and approves.

May you rest in peace, Clark. Gone far too soon but well done, sir. Well done!

This is EMBARRASSING!
7 February 2021
I have been binge-watching this show for months due to COVID. To be quite honest, I never liked James Spader - until now. One of the best actors out there!

While this show can be quite gruesome, the plots, the characters, the quick-wit and quips were magnificent. What the HELL Happened to this show?

I think it started at the end of Season 7 - the 'finale' - when all of a sudden, the actors looked straight into the camera and said they were shutting down due to COVID. While I commend being creative under some pretty crappy circumstances - A CARTOON??? That is how they dealt with the end of season 7. Red, Liz and the gang - animated.

And now - Season 8. I can barely watch. The only reason I am hanging on is HOPING it will get better, will get back to how it once was. What happened to the writers - who breathe life - and death - into the characters and story lines. I hope they are all healthy and well? Liz is now a murderer on the run - not giving a damn about her friends. Ressler, the super straight cop, now an accomplice.

This is, frankly, embarrassing!

Absolutely AWFUL! Terrible! Horrible!
6 February 2021
I LOVE this show and have been binge-watching it for several months now because of COVID. While each episode has some gruesomely graphic scenes, the characters are fantastic. I was never a fan of Spader - until The Blacklist. His wit and charm sucks you in every single time despite his despicable acts.

But this episode? AWFUL! Terrible! Just plain BAD! While I do give credit to everyone for their creativity in trying to complete an episode during the pandemic, they should have just stopped production. I simply cannot wrap my head around watching Red, Dembe, Liz and the others - in a freakin' CARTOON!

OMG! Watch this - you will LOVE it!
10 December 2020
I just finished watching SUITS and I feel like I have lost an old friend!

SUITS is one of the most well-written, best looking television series I have ever seen. While the show is about lawyers, it is the characters that reel you in. The evolving story-line between friends and enemies is fantastic. I cannot tell you how many times I have laughed out loud, screamed at the TV and even wept during this series.

This show has been a bright spot during the dark days of this pandemic. I looked forward to watching one or two episodes every day, to take my mind off the horror show we are all living through. I feel like Harvey, Donna, Louis and Mike and part of my family. The ending was fantastic but I feel a tremendous loss now that it is over.

Watch this! You will love it!

Don't waste your time! "Trust" me!
10 October 2020
Based on the other reviews, I had high hopes for this series. My advice - don't waste your time!

The best thing I can say about "Trust" is the view! Italy is one of the most beautiful places on earth and the cinematography was stunning.

The series is painfully slow - they should have stopped after the sixth episode. Brendan Fraser's character - speaking directly into the camera - was ridiculous. At one point, he even suggested to the audience to "Google it!" And that ending? Awful.

Unless you want to see some gorgeous shots of Italy, don't waste your time on "Trust." Trust me!

13 September 2020
As a self-described news junkie, I finally had to turn OFF the news to keep my sanity during the pandemic.

I binge-watched numerous television series over the past 6 months and most had disappointing endings. So I prepared myself for a let-down in Ozark's Season 3. But wow, was I wrong!

Buckle up, buttercups!
