Requiem for a Dream (2000)

Very heavy movie.

It is a very heavy movie that leaves a bad aftertaste. Acting and production are top-notch. Jared Leto resembles a junkie even without this role. Excellent casting.

That said, try not to watch it alone or when you are depressed. Certainly not something for a casual evening. One of the few movies that I'd actually recommend reading some reviews before you watch it to get an idea of what to expect.

This is not for everyone. Easy to get disgusted and even depressed. So, make sure you know what you sre in for. A must watch for anyone struggling with addictions though.

Also, a good reminder to give a call to your Ma! And often.

Homeland (2011–2020)

Claire Danes is such an underrated actress

This show is brilliant and gets better with each season. I'm now on season 4, it is even better than the previous seasons. Claire's acting is so top notch that you cant help but forgive the creators for the unnecessary teenage drama on the first two seasons.

Claire Danes doesnt receive the credit she deserves.

Goodfellas (1990)

Whi is this a better movie than 1995 Casino?

I had high expectations from this based on the exteremely high (for a movie) ratings, especially considering it is rated much bigher than 1995 Casino with somewhat similar characters and plot.

The answer to the question in the title is - it is not. Casino is much better. This is a bit overrated and unnecessarily protracted movie. I got bored several times throughout the movie. Yet, 7/10 for the acting of the legendary actors.

John Adams (2008)

Superv first half followed by unnecessarily protracted second half

First part deserved a 10, while unnecessarily protracted and dramatised second half, where John Adams is portrayed as a verry unhappy man, a 5.

Giving it 8/10 as people must watch this for the historical perspective at the very least.

The Mule (2018)

Alright, I understand that this is Clint Eastwood, I myself started watching only for him, but this 7/10 on IMBD is way overrated.

This movie is way too prolonged and unnecessarily so.

5 out of 10, and that is only for CE.

The Courier (2020)

Portrayed KGB bettter that it was in reality, almost polite, which was not the case. The movie lacks some suspense and thriller for what it was supposed to be.

It is an OK movie, but not really funny which it was supposed to be. The only funny scene was the speed dating card scene in the store. 6.5 out of 10.

This is a massively overrated kids movie. One of those films that you watched because of the good ratings and then regretted immensely. I guess 10-year olds have given ratings here, as I cant think of any adults that would enjoy this.

28 Days Later (2002)

Usually, I mostly agree with IMDb ratings of movies unlike the ratings of TV series as they are usually biased and overrated due to inflation caused by the fans of those shows.

This movie is an exception though as it is very overrated. The plot was a 6 at the very best, and the terrible acting and ridiculous dialogues completely ruined the movie.

If you are a fan of zombie movies, this ain't it. Dont waste your time. Basically any single epispde of TWD (from first 5 seasons) is a much better.

I'm not even mentioning the fact that the picture quality is terrible as it was filmed with an amateur camera.

Icarus (2017)

Arguably the best, and more importantly, the most important dovumentary ever made

An absolute must watch and very underrated. The details of conspiracy are mind-blowing. It is impossible to stay indifferent considering how many clean athletes from other countries had been cheated on. Being an Olympian athlete requires a lifetime perseverance and hard work, and the fruits of their lifetime work have been repeatedly stolen from them by KGB/FSB operations. Hard not to feel disgust about Putin's Russia after watching this. No wonder thousands of Russian trolls were assigned to degrade this film.

Snowpiercer (2013)

The Punisher (2017–2019)

What a waste of time. Other than the first episode of season 2 (thanks to the cute bartender) the show is a complete waste of time. What could be fit into a 2-hour movie was prolonged for 2 seasons.

Really made me reconsider watching TV series at all. It would probably be better to swtuch to movies only - TV series are just not worth it. And ratings are no indication at all.

The Game (1997)

Mediocre. Wasted potential

It is rare when a sequel beats the original, but it might be the case for this movie. Ignore the negative reviews - those must be some triggered "conservatives" (read "right-wing extemists"). This is an absolutely brilliant and unique movie like no other. Sacha is a genius. Most of the film is a prank footage, and this is what makes this movie so unique and hilarious.

Although I must say they went too far with that dance scene:)

Special effects were fine but who did the casting of the actors? Awful, couldn't be worse. Especially that Dani character. It sounded lile a telenovella not Terminator movie. And that new terminator, who picked up that guy for the role?

Terrible choice of new actors, mediocre plot. What a waste

Well, I started watching only because of the extremely high ratings. And I couldnt be more frustrated. The acting in the film was so terrible and artificial, I couldn't even finish this. The 4 stars are only for the fact that it was shot in 1980

Hard Target (1993)

Objectively Van Damme's best acting performance
