Alone (2020)
In the cellar she had time to plan.
Thinking and planning her escape it amazes me she made so much noise running away from the cabin, for goodness sake it's was like she had a cow bell around her neck.
Then she continued to make unnecessary noises throughout the chase.
Her first chance of help, she hits a guy, an no offer of apology afterwards.
First scene she had plenty of room for her plant to go into the rear removal container, why leave it?
She drives far to close to her assailant earlier on in the film.
She's totally daft, and alas unworthy of sympathy.
We Still Say Grace (2020)
Interesting horror
I enjoyed this, the acting was good, the story not too poor, worth a watch.
Departure (2019)
Can't believe it's had such poor reviews?
After reading the dreadful user reviews I felt compelled to write mine which is more favourable. Yes a bit formulaic, but a rather good cast of actors, and twisting storyline on who was responsible for the plane downing. It worth a watch, it you enjoy thrillers and conspiracy story lines. Budget and filming is not bad too
Lost in Space (2018)
Why the low scores, expecting the same old?
Enjoying this series very much, and it almost reached my high expectations, remember and watch the original series and quite enjoyed the film.
It is nothing like the shows before, more characters, more scope, interesting stories, over a 10 hour period with a great filmic quality and special effectes.
Dr Smith is certainly an interesting role, the menace and threat develops throughout the show, how far will she go?
The Robot is also totally different and you're left not quite sure what will happen to his role.
Can't understand why some reviewers have rated this so low, what were they expecting? A facsimile of the original or film? Or are they trying just to be clever or more high brow than us??
I think it is well worth a watch it you enjoyed previous shows, and accept its going to be slightly different. like sci-fi and enjoy special effects, and fantasy mystery
It does have some homage to the original too,
Star Trek: Discovery: The Butcher's Knife Cares Not for the Lamb's Cry (2017)
It's good, but more dark than the others
I'm really enjoying this series, yes it's a different feel, dark actually, and the special effects are a little dated, perhaps because it's a prequel of sorts. But today we see a little humanity from our heroine who discovers the creature Ripper real needs and character.
The Klingon's in this series are great, and far more complex which I like, but you do have to concentrate on the translations, and they certainly come over as very alien.
It's not a continuum of the previous series, but a stand-alone programme which if you view it without the baggage, and likes of the other series, you will enjoy the story, and continual development of the characters, and the struggle from the charges of mutiny to something more important on the discovery
Suburra - La serie (2017)
Brilliant better than the Film
Absolutely fantastic, I enjoyed the Film but the series is even better, perhaps because of character and story development, plus the architectural backdrop and beautiful filming of Rome and the Vatican helps to create it as a masterpiece.
The three main males, and female leads are good, as is the script making you want to watch more. It's good to see two of the original Suburra actors in the series too, Alessandro Borghi is certainly one to watch out in Hollywood surely?
Love the trashy Gypsy wedding, intrigue, and secretes each male lead has to hide.
I hope this series continues
The Mist (2017)
The Mist shouldn't be dis Mist (dismissed)
After seeing all previous reviews which were dreadful, yet an overall score of over 5 I was interested in watching the first episode, and it's really not bad at all. It's watchable with some interesting characters, and the story so far is rather good. Some good gore, and special effects.
Certainly if you like mysteries, sci fiction, horrors it's worth a watch, who knows you may even enjoy it, I've watched 3 episodes now on the trot.
Taken (2017)
Good pilot
Enjoyed the films, so was interested to see what the series was like, but a little concerned some of the reviews had been poor. But I Enjoyed the pilot, a few twists and turns, good action, and not bad acting at all. Of course it's all totally ludicrous, but never the less the first episode was entertaining and fun, and with plenty of action.
I hope future episodes match up to the pilot, so far better than the new 24
