Enjoyable. Low budget. Worth a watch
26 April 2023
It seems I keep writing bad reviews here all the time, so I thought I'd have a positive one for a change :)

This is a low budget project (or so it seems), so if you expect a Marvel like show, you will be disappointed.

Many people say it's too slow; I do not particularly like slow paced movies myself, but a slow pace is good for this one.

Others say the ending is disappointing. I do not agree. It does leave much to the imagination (love that!), even an opening for a sequel?

Other than that, the acting is good, which is a plus.

The script has a few holes though, but if you let yourself into the story, it's not all that bad.

Is it an action movie? No.

Is it worth an Oscar? Definitely not.

Is it worth a sequel? Probably not... Is it entertaining? Definitely yes.

Just watch it... And enjoy!

Two movies in one, one undermining the other
24 April 2023
I just sat down to watch this one, "it's a British spy thriller, what could go wrong" I asked my self.

Well, political correctness could, and did.

The lead interrogator on the Kim Philby case on behalf of the British Crown, is a woman, of all people! In 1963, Great Britain, of all places!

And she happens to be be married to a black dude, who happens to be a doctor! In 1963 UK, of all places!

And she is a creature of the imagination of the "screenwriter", Mr Alexander Cary; she does not exist in the book the series is based on...

That's the first movie you are going to watch. A "strong and independent" woman who totally is out of place.

The second movie is the actual Kim Philby case and its aftermath. Not much to say about it, but I will quote the "goof" on the main page of this site: "The series is unfair to James Jesus Angleton, largely portraying him as a rube, who is constantly discovered by British intelligence and is completely taken in by Philby, even after Philby's betrayal is revealed".

So, there you have it.

A great potential, full of talented actors ruined by political correctness. As I said in the title, the "strong and independent" woman narrative shadows and undermines the real story, making the whole series unwatchable.

If you can stomach one more 21st century "strong and independent" woman in a mid 20th century environment, you'll be all right, you may even enjoy it. As for me, one and a half episodes were enough.

Two stars are more than enough, just for the costumes and scenery.

This is wonderful! (well, if you are 13-15)
13 January 2022
The title says it all... I managed to get half way through of episode 2, the drug dealer "fight". Yeah, that was enough...

This is one of those shows that people just turn dum when they have to make a decision, or do something that makes no sense or they don't understand what's going on, just to get the plot going.

So, yeah, if this is your cup of tea... go right ahead!

Anti-war movement = fifth column
20 August 2021
This is my sencond review - the first one is... missing :)

First of all, I have to say the film was ok. Part original footage part acted, did not expect a masterpiece here.

What was mind blowing to me was the original footage of some of the prominent member of the anti-war movement (John Kerry, Jane Fonda).

These people were actually promoting the communist propaganda. Oh, I am sure, they thought they were doing a good thing, promoting the peace, stopping the killing, but man it was heartbreaking to watch them parroting the communist lies.

Now, some 50 years later, their political descendants are talking about re-education again. Back then it was real concentration camps for re-education, today it's done within companies and the government.

Here's a picture I will never forget: Jane Fonda parroting Soviet propaganda.

That was a punch in the gut!

You must be joking!
5 July 2021
I mean, I see people say this one is one of the best for Disney... Really?

I can't imagine what their other shows (the bad ones) are like...

This is a joke!

I realize this is for children, but I believe that a child over the age of 5 would not be thrilled to watch this... and younger children would just watch anything with moving colors and sound... but then again a "ghost"/mystery story? They would get nightmares...

I give this one a 4, just because there are kids playing and I love kids.

Pointless... Lifeless...
25 May 2021
OK, what was that I just watched?

I see what they are trying to do, but, no... it's not there.

And then it went all the way full PC... I just could not watch the "black girl section". And the boyfriend puting his girlfriend down was so fake and ridiculous...

I mean, how in the world would anyone like this?

Unless you are into listening to peoples' voices and watching colors alternating from one to the other...

No, just no!

Mentally unstable, ideologically obsessed people making a movie...
7 December 2020
This is a great movie, a movie every woman and man must see.

This is the best way to learn (from the horses mouth, as they say) what feminism is, and what kind of people feminists are. Deranged women (and some men) who have found a purpose in life: to hate.

To the creators: Your ideology is a wicked ideology, an ideology of evil, of hatred and destruction. Instead of making films you should seek help from a psychiatrist.

To the viewer: Watch this film to find out what the future will be like if these people get more power.

Now, this is art!
18 September 2020
I am not one of those people who understand deep meaning and hidden messages in films, if you know what I mean...

But this movie told me so much - with so little words...

And that for me is art!

This movie is about loneliness and it is about love, going against your own nature in pursue for it, getting a glimpse of happiness (of what might or could've been) before the bitter, inevitable end. It is Eleanor Rigby expressed in a film.

It is actually a very dark movie - the closing scene is heartbreaking...

But this is just me... Go watch it for yourselves and make your own sense of it...

Scientology type of cult in action...
15 May 2020
Yes, this is somewhat predictable, as others have already said, and yes the acting is not up for an Oscar; it is prety decent, though... but...

It is entertaining!

And this is all that matters!

The fact that it reminded my of Scientology with its author founder and "strange practices" to members who wanna leave... that did it for me.

Watch this one, you won't be disappointed

To get an idea of what this is all about, just Imagine what George Orwell would write, if he ever wrote 1984 volume 2...

And all that in a 7 min film!

Kudos Mr. Kolhatkar

Almost vomited (I had dinner before watching it)
2 February 2019
This is one of those films that after you watch it, you have to read a 200 pages analysis on what the heck the writer wanted to say...

But with this film, the thing is... are you brave enough (or stupid, some would say) to watch it to the end?

At times it got annoying and disgusting. People should be warned about this kind of staff...

BTW, somebody should inform the director that his camera somehow got upside-down at some point, and he did not notice...

One star would be enough, I give it two, because of the music and dancing

Fifties spy film scent, in modern day era
18 May 2018
Yes! Finally!!!

A spy film just like they used to do them back in the day. With people who seem to go from one side to the other, until they... don't. Or do they?

I've read a lot here, from being an anti-soviet propaganda to Jen's face looking expressionless throughtout the movie

Well, if you would enjoy a spy film of the fifties, just watch this one

Romance at Reindeer Lodge (2017 TV Movie)

Sweet!!!
18 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is just like a chocolate bar - or a gingerbread cookie. Sweet!!!

I mean, ok, when it comes to a Hallmark movie, you pretty much know what to expect. But, when you get passed all that, this movie gives you the sense of tranquility - at least it did to me...

And I believe it all comes down to Ms. Broderick (the lodge lady-owner), who is tranquility personified. A lady who gets the good, and in this case the bad, with an endless endurance. Loved her!!!

Ms. Whelan is such a beauty!!! But I really liked that the movie did not base itself on that. She totally managed to portray a career oriented, over-worked young woman, who has just "lost her way".

The rest of the cast was great too, but as i've said, it's the two ladies that really shine.

Finally, the whole reindeer thing is a plus too. Their appearance at the end of the movie, was a treat!

As Ms. Broderick states: "You know,we were afraid they might not come, that it would take some sort of Christmas magic, but I think you all brought that. You brought your love, young love, and new love."

"I think true love brought the reindeer."

A must see!!!

Man, that was soooo... bad...
31 January 2018
What else can i say? It was so bad it almost make me cry...

I'm not talking about effects and stuff, I'm talking about acting. Well, actually, not acting at all...

It reminded me of my school years, school theater and all. That bad!

Maybe it has to do with the script, the dialogs. I mean, even the best actor in the world cannot actually act on a very-very bad script...

Not more to say. A total waste of time
