El Manara (2004)
we'r not talking cinema here
hello; this piece is definitely not a good picture, actually it is not even a picture. i wished i read it as a novel rather than watching it as a movie. the plot is fine and will coherent to a certain extent but it lacks all film-making characteristics, or to say it in a different way this piece of work is not in consistency with pictures' artistic form. still the theme of the story is so important, and having it done in CENIMATIC FORM is probably a necessity. as to fill the rest of the required lines in order to submit this comment; the character of Ramadan is of great importance since it carries the theme of un-exchanged emotions (love) and repressed sexual desires.

thanks Mr.Dibs
Marhaba; it is firstly to thank Mr.Dibs for his movie. the fact that there is a lack in financing pictures or theater investing is to be considered, especially when this fact affects any potential director when his\her movie is nominated for financial support (production). however, and therefore, the load of thoughts Mr.Dibs introduces in his movie is understandable and appreciated but unfortunately misrepresented at some of the scenes here and there. the movie is beautifully connected from a visual -and sometimes audible perspective- only, but is deeply lacking plot coherency. a friend of mine suggested that Mr.Dibs is depending on the audience to knot the fragmented facets of the movie; will it maybe true but i think that Mr.Dibs took it to the limit and maybe exceeded it by far. still, thanks again Mr.Dibs i really enjoyed...Visually. bye.
L'esquive (2003)
a fine one
hello;
i'm not -at all- trying to imply any kind of criticism i'm just trying to share u my point of view concerning this movie i've seen yesterday. 1.high pitch dialogs: the long arguments governing a large portion of the movie seems as trying to focus on the real, on earth dialogs taking place between the french & NA immigrants, and maybe other nationalities in France as well. this dialogs seems to be RATHER unprofitable and unheard by both parties, taking an aggressive form in some occasions; this argument is not only found between french-immigrants but also in between immigrants-immigrants themselves; this will lead to the second issue, 2.the theme of POWER: it is so vivid when focusing on the relations between characters of the movie: Lydia-Krimo, Fathi-all other characters, police(government)-all others.
* there is one question i would like to raise: Lydia; i can't stop questioning her background? the structure of her character is will built but i guess there is something missing?.
