Smile (2022)
Wish it could have ended differently
"Smile" has a really good concept of a horror movie. It revolves around trauma and how people deal with it.
In the movie, trauma is shown and is being passed on by witnessing a gruesome death. Rose also has another significant traumatic experience with her mom that shows how her approach to her situation. There's a scene that shows where Rose says "I carried this guilt forever", that quote is like a representation of the entity itself where you cant exactly ignore the situation for this would always haunt you just as seen in the movie.
The movie is really good by making the viewers uneasy especially with the camera angles. Although, mostly predictable, it still managed to give the creeps.
Overall, it is a decent horror movie which started out great by making viewers uncomfortable although I think it has a weak ending. The ending being that the cycle continues. I wish it could have ended by Rose getting tricked by the entity by burning it but it was Joel all along which would add to Rose's traumatic experiences. I believe this kind of ending would have a stronger tie to the traumatic theme.
Us (2019)
Ending blew it !!
The movie is great because of how unique the idea of the plot and all. It had so much potential to become a really great movie until the ending.
The ending may have things explained especially on the childhood days on why the mother became silent all of a sudden and the voice of the tethered being all distorted; but the problem is, this lead to holes in the plot as of the movie focused on how Jason reacted in the ending. This lead to some confusion why Jason became so distant. It's not like her mom is the one with the distorted voice because they were switched when they were kids.
Movie is really interesting but I don't really get what the movie is trying to convey in the ending.
The Last: Naruto the Movie (2014)
great watch !
The movie is great! Don't get me wrong I do understand why the movie is getting a lot of hate for this is a Naruto movie and people will surely be expecting a lot of action from the main characters especially team 7. Though what we can see in the movie is more of our boy Naruto trying to settle down with his wifey Hinata. This is not bad for it is actually cute how the story goes. You wouldn't really get entirely disappointed for the lack of action from other main characters but animations for the fight scenes are not bad; looks really cool if I would be honest and animations are smooth. Overall, it is really good watch for the fans and I can say it is fitting that it's actually the last episode for Naruto. (Knowing that there would be Boruto for its sequel.)
Hotarubi no mori e (2011)
Short but beautiful
Really worth 45 mins of your time. The film may be short but by the end of it, you will definitely feel a variety mix of emotions.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Too much villains
To start it of, the movie had too much villains that we're shown. The main villain Electro had poor motives to actually be an antagonist. Villains like the famous Green Goblin was also shown though lacks screen time; and lastly Rhino, it really did disappoint me when they actually showed Rhino in the trailer knowing that he will actually be one of the villains but then again he was only shown in the last part with actually no action time. Other notable characters were introduce like Felicia Hardy, Alistair Smythe. One good thing to say about the movie though is that the fight scenes were really well thought of. Spider-Man was pretty amazing in terms of it.
Kimi no na wa. (2016)
Deserves to be rewatch
The movie is not exactly the type where most people will understand in one sitting. Rewatching this masterpiece adds up so much details. The small details about the timeline of the two protagonists proves how a quality this movie is.
Tenki no ko (2019)
Must watch!!!
Visuals and soundtrack are outstanding and really add up to the feels of the movie. Story wise, I think you'll better appreciate it if you look at the other aspects of the movie rather than just focusing on the romantic side. The movie is reality turned into fantasy; it is indeed 10/10 in all aspects.
