Napoleon (2023)
Too much bonking not enough war action
What a massive let down this film was after all the hype. Instead of focusing on the rise, fall, career, and campaigns of one of histories greatest military leaders, the film was just bonking, waffle and nonsense. His early career, Egypt, Russia, and finally Waterloo all skirted round. Phoenix himself is a poor casting to play a man from his twenties to his fifties and his acting is well below par. I must admit to falling asleep at least twice during this turgid, boring rubbish. If you want a decent napoleon film get Waterloo with Christopher plumber and Rod stiger, now that is an epic worthy of a Sunday afternoons viewing.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Indy is back to his best. Loved it.
Far exceeded my expectations after it bombed at the cinema. Nothing wrong with this at all, just something wrong with cinema audiences. If you didn't like this film it's probably because you think Barbie is cinema gold, or can't wait for the next edition of Transformers. All star cast, a good script, a plot, good special effects and classic Indy one liners. The CGI to reverse age Indy for the opening sequences actually works really well. This is a fitting end to a saga that mad me gripped since I was an 8 year old boy watching Tenple of Doom. I always wanted to be Indiana Jones and at 45 that dream is still alive.
Canopy (2013)
I've just wasted over an hour of my life.
How did anyone score this film highly enough to get 4.9 stars? It is the turgid and dull peice of cinematography as I have ever seen. Wounded pilot stumbles through the jungle for 80 minutes then is captured. The end. Awful.
