Extracurricular: Episode 6 (2020)
Frustrating
The stupidity of all characters and the annoying voice and idiocy of that schoolgirl sex worker was at peak in this episode. One main character waits for things to get dire before helping another one. That aforementioned girl is just annoyingly selfish and self centered and puts everyone but herself I'm mortal danger in the process. Thankfully Gyuri has been less annoying and more helpful lately, so that's a plus. IMDb isn't letting me end my review here wtf. Action is good and suspense and pace keeps you hooked. But I felt next to nothing for an important death cause it all happened in such a damn stupid fashion that it left me more frustrated than emotional. Normies like the other reviewer would love this and eat it up.
Plan B: Episode #1.6 (2023)
Not satisfying, but well told.
Never more have I hated the wife and felt for the husband since Ozark, like I do here. Ev is a hypocritical, narcissistic victim playing egoist and I rejoiced and I wanted her to lose everything she selfishly loved since the beginning. Phil is right, she can only love herself, and loves Charlotte only cause she sees her as an extension of herself. She immediately goes back to her dumb cello lucid dream and the instructor she wants to nail. She will always be the person who is never satisfied...wants Phil to completely bend over to support her stupid dreams while she complains and cribs her way along half-assedly supporting what Phil wants to acheive for the family, all the while calling Phil a controlling manipulator. Phil actually tried to support her dumb career, until her dumb career made him lose his daughter, which gave him severe PTSD whenever the poor man saw her playing the cello. Sadly, in real life these women always find a simp to enable their narcissistic tendencies and treat them like the queen they think they are. Phil was no simp, thankfully but the poor man still lost so much because of this holier than thou self serving Landry family. The only characters worth rooting for are the brothers Phil and Andy. Their mom is just like Eve and cannot offer a shred of support when she sees her child in pain, and comes along gleefully to reap the rewards of his hard work. Andy is probably the most supportive gem of a character, and Phil's only fault is sometimes not treating him with the kindness and respect he deserves.
I felt it was a huge gamble for Phil to first tell Ev and subsequently send her to the past using Plan B. And lo and behold, after 7 years the woman still plays the victim and can only see how Phil hurt her (her imagination mostly), she has found another guy who enables her childish ambitions and she still isn't content and wants to humiliate an unsuspecting Philip (from her POV). If she was truly happy as she said, she wouldn't feel like she haaad to tell this version of Phil about her hurt and stuff. Phil sadly still chooses the wrong type of woman (I guess that's the type dominant in America nowadays). Phil was surprised when Pat told him about the Keas exec but knew the name Charlotte. Maybe he remembered from 7 years ago when Ev attacked him, or maybe he also looped along with Ev, but to a prior date? I dunno.
86: Handler One (2022)
86!
Perfection! That sums up this anime...I have no words....the buildup to the ending was so well done....it melts your heart when you finally see it..so so beautiful.
86: I'm With You (2021)
Silence in the Library
The aforementioned title is the name of a great Doctor Who episode which has the same concept. My god, what an incredibly unique way of bringing in zombies!! I didn;t connect with the series in the first 3 episodes, but since the fourth episode, the direction, the dialogues between Lena and Nouzen, the soundtrack and the symbolism (even in this one the bee sucking the pollen out of the one blooming flower as Nouzen describes how the Legion might have got an undamaged brain...Beautiful!!). This episode was phenomenal, even surpassing the previous one!
College Romance: Sub-group (2021)
The 4th episode tradition lives on!!!!
Much like the last season, the 4th episode spirals everything outta control!!! But more than that, this episode truly has GOD-tier performances!!!! But special mentions to Gagan Arora, Keshav Sadhna and to some extent Apoorva Arora. Manjot was great too honestly!
Newcomer Nupur Nagpal is a delight!
Kapoor & Sons (2016)
Imperfect Perfection!
With a beautiful script and wonderfully thought provoking dialogues, this is a story of how 2 mistakes and one truth can build up pressure that shatters a family. But how acquiring the willingness to forgive with time, can bring the family back together.
Acting is phenomenal all around. Rajat Kapoor is brilliant. Alia Bhatt shines even in a small role. Siddharth Malhotra's growth as an actor can be visibly seen as he is so real in many moments. Ratna Pathak Shah is great, and has many great scenes (especially near the end). Coming to the two standouts- It's just sad we lost Rishi Kapoor so young. Man was a legend!! He is so funny, raw, real, tired, juvenile, jovial, authentic and emotional in this role...no words...just chef's kiss.
For me, the absolute best performance (and also the meatiest role) was portrayed by the outsider- Fawad Khan! I really wish Indo-Pak relations stay healthy so Bollywood can be further graced by his presence. The shades of subtle insecurity, fear, anger and emotions in his portrayal just add to an already impeccably authentic performance. So good!
Cinematography and music are excellent as well.
My only gripe is that it could do without the one item number.
But all in all, this movie is an underrated Bollywood gem and one of the most realistically brilliant family dramas in recent history.
Shi Guang Dai Li Ren: Farewell (2021)
Crafted perfection!!
Beautiful, tragic, real episode. The middle act will have everyone bawling. He wanted to save everyone...couldn't...but at least ended up finding his (not exactly his) mother! And I am so glad the lines he spoke to his mother weren't revealed like the other lines...cause they are sacred words...and they deserve to be a secret between a mother and her son...the most beautiful sacred bond..you can fill your own words that you wish to say to your mom. Also, the end when the client continues the legacy of singing the lullaby to their child...so so beautifully poetic. What a lovely, lovely episode!
Comedy Premium League (2021)
Many great laughs!
But why was the voting sooooo unfair to Naazuk Nevles (Rahul team)...they were soo consistently good!!!
Rick and Morty: A Rickconvenient Mort (2021)
Heartbreaking
Heart broke for Planetina. Morty is a hypocrite. Rick and Summer are immature kids. Beth is a narcissist and a dumb parent who views the world from her high horse. Jerry lives in his own stupid, incompetent world but is still the most normal out of them. I reiterate, Morty leaving Planetina for some deaths is highly uncharacteristic when just two episodes ago, he killed a whole race of innocent people, and just in the last episode his versions killed other versions of him.
Psycho-Pass: Herakles and the Sirens (2019)
The Human aspect, at last
Lovely world building episode that delves deeper into the psyche and relationships of many of the main cast. A single moment, just one beautiful moment of uncontrolled rage and pain in this episode, and suddenly Kei Ignatov is my favourite character this season.
OK Computer: Hello World (2021)
6.0?
6.0 is the rating of one of the most thought provoking season finales I have ever seen!? Honestly, I once had this same idea (probably after reading the last of the Foundation books concerning Gaia) that artificial intelligence might be the last step towards evolution, the undying vessel of the consciousness...and I am so happy and not at all jealous to see it executed so well here. This series has been filled with amazing sci fi twists, social commentary, satire, unforgiving irony and dollops of humor and great acting (and voice acting) from start to finish! Why are we still not ready for such a masterpiece!!??? Its 2021!! Also, Vijay Varma (He was soo good as always), Ullas Mohan, Kani Kusruti, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee, Sarang Sathaye and Jackie Shroff have acted splendidly. Radhika Apte has her nasal Marathi accent here as well, unfortunately but she still did a good job. Shoutout to Welcome and the Bear and the actor who protrayed CNX!!! In the end, I would be remiss not to add the summary of this episode as given on IMDb as its absolutely genius well put:
Saajan and Laxmi learn that sorrows come not as singular mercenaries but as invading battalions.
However, in a quiet corner of the city, truth is resurrected and finally revealed!!!!!

OK Computer: Making of a Messiah (2021)
Absolutely brilliant satire on the human condition!
Never in my life had I thought I would hear a holographic bear say: "Are maine batwaa kidhar rakh dia?" Hilarious!
Tales from the Loop: Loop (2020)
Beautiful and Heartwarming!
Brings up so many great questions about identity metaphysics, information and metaphysics while also being so touching and emotional. Barely 8 minutes into the show, and I was invested in the characters.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Children of the Forest (2021)
Mr Blouse!
The dialogues of Mr. Blouse and Nicollo were beautiful writing and direction! Episode overall greatly balanced mystery and deliveries! Loved it....Eren's entry was spellbinding. The plot isn't perfect though as it's hyped up to be: if eldians only dwell in Paradis and Marley, how could Zeke Titanize the capital of another inrelated country when only Eldian descendants can be titanized? The explanation Zeke gave Levi about why he titanized Ragako makes no sense. He could have easily hidden his special spinal fluid powers from Marley without jeopardizing his postion, as this special titan fluid power is specific to him (probably due to royal blood) and not to the Beast titan. Furthermore, Eren and Zeke had a chance to start the rumbling in the airship when they were together. Eren could have even met Zeke earlier in Marley (establishing a parley via Falco) and started the rumbling then and there in principle. Why wait till reaching Paradis (Rumbling doesn't have to do with where the Founder is) and creating so much unnecessary chaos? All this is plot armour. There are many other things from previous seasons (The heat release of Colossal titan changes relevance time to time, the titan who ingested eren didn't become a titan shifter when he gulped Eren but Eren got warhammer power after gulping Tybur girl...if titan shifting is transferred via spinal fluid then even Jaw must have ingested Tybur spinal fluid as his jaw was used to break the crystal and blood spurted out and must have entered his mouth too..in this case when two titans ingest shifter spinal fluid, which one becomes a shifter?). So there are many issues, but they dont take away at all from the awesome and deep plot of AoT. I just hate when toxic fans say that AoT is flawless and other great anime is trash. I love AoT...its my all time 3rd fav anime, but it's not flawless. It's flaws though, can be easily ignored.
Doctor Who: The Unicorn and the Wasp (2008)
She was not a feminist!
You have turned Agatha into this caricature, who is not at all open-minded and is solving stuff like Sherlock instead of Poirot just because of the limits of the writer of the episode!!
Mirzapur: Dhenkul (2020)
Bhaukaal!
Extremely well made and beuatifully acted episode!! Munna and Guddu OP in particular. The tone has changed from last season momentously and its well appreciated. There are still the sarcastic and dry splashes of humour expected from Mirzapur but the sombre and realistic tone and pacing are all changes for the better!!
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Negotiation (2018)
Beautiful, beautiful episode!
Never seen a cuter hostage situation. A loved character returns and we also get to see a whole new different side of Boyle (actor is amazing as always). Overall, a very sweet episode filled with ROFL moments.
Vinland Saga: Reunion (2019)
Unexpectedly emotional....Unapologetically beautiful!
Is there even a point in claiming this episode is the best yet, when this beautiful unique series keeps surpassing itself in every episode!? Started with showing us the intelligent, deceit filled side of a political power struggle in all its violent glory, but ended with such an unexpectedly poignant scene. The accursed existence of a warrior, filled with empty promises of glory, through all the exhilirating fights, the plundering and looting, is in its essence, a bottomless pit of sheer loneliness, and they don't even have one person they can truly call a friend.
Naruto: Shippûden: Chichi no omoi, haha no ai (2013)
This episode is enough to make a grown man cry!
I can no longer keep track of all the episodes of Shippuden and Naruto that have made me cry like a baby. It is just so beautifully cathartic. Our very first major antihero in the series Gaara, who has truly grown into a beautiful soul and a noble shinobi leader, finally gets closure. Gaara was someone who arguably had a worse past than even our boy Naruto. Where Naruto had Iruka and Hiruzen, Gaara had his murderous dad and his two faced protector, whose dying words to Gaara was that his mom hated him! Now, finally after all these years, we get the truth of that fateful night. She loved him. She still protects him to this day from beyond her death, with his sand! Gaara hearing from his reincarnated Dad just how much he meant to his mother and the image of her holding tiny premature baby Gaara in her hands right before she heaves her last breath is priceless!! It was also beautiful how Gaara still calls love 'medicine' after all these years as that's how the concept was first introduced to him. This episode maybe rivals the one where we find out just how much Sasuke meant to Itachi, as we frankly care more about Gaara than Sasuke. Lovely episode!
Naruto: Shippûden: Kokoro no naka no tegami (2012)
Criminally underrated!!
We all know that whenever Iruka comes, the episode is bound to be special. This was clearly no exception. Though Naruto has plenty protectors and elder figures at this point (Kakashi, Jiraiya, Killer B etc), the Iruka-Naruto bond is still special..its his first bond, Iruka was Naruto's first ray of hope and love in this accursed shinobi world. Listening to Iruka's message filled me with joy, and then this beautiful series made me cry again when B told Iruka just how much exactly, Iruka's words mean and have always meant, to Naruto.
Naruto: Shippûden: Konoha no eiyû (2010)
Lord 3rd, Lord 4th...There is a hero right before our eyes!!!
It was a long, hard, extremely painful road, but you are finally here, and you deserve every single moment of it!!! I have tears of sheer happiness in my eyes. The most beautiful character ever created in the most deep and poignant anime arc ever created of the most beautiful, soulful, symbolic anime ever created, finally gets everything we have wanted him to get since this beautiful show began all those years ago!
Naruto: Shippûden: Shinjitsu (2009)
Forgive me, Sasuke,...but this is it!
In one fell swoop, in a single short episode, the incredible writing of Masashi transformed one of the most hated characters in the series to the absolute fan-favourite! Itachi!-the tortured prodigy..to have to carry such a big hugeass burden all your life, plaaguing you to illness, just to protect your brother from the truth! To make him hate you and loath you just to give him purpose and make him strong enough to come and fight you, so you can die by his hand as a final way to make him stronger! Oh God! Severus Snape from HP and Mikkel from Dark come to mind, and though both of them were deemed best characters in a similar short span/episode, and Snape is regarded at almost the same level as Itachi, there is just no real comparison when it comes down to it. Itachi, died protecting his village and his brother, knowing and accepting to be hated and loathed by every single soul he sacrificed his life for. I thought I had cried the most recently in episode 82 (Shikamaru breaks down) and 133 (Jiraiya's death) but this brought me crashing down bawling as never before. I salute the most tragic and noble character ever thought of-Itachi!
Westworld: Kiksuya (2018)
Take my heart when you go.
The Bicameral Mind may have been more intense in terms of twists and action, but as Ford said in season 1- "The guests don't return for the obvious things we do, but the subtle things. They don't want to know who they are, they know who they are. They come back cause they notice something they imagine no one has noticed before. they come back to see a glimpse of who they can be." This showed what Westworld can be, sad yet beautiful, and unconspicuously human. This was the most 'human' episode yet, with special mention to the fact that almost no 'human' character had a big enough screentime in this episode (except of course, Lee Sizemore-a revelation!). This tied up everything- The Maze, Ghost Nation, Maeve's brutal past, all this with now definitely the most beautiful, human and heartfelt character in this series' perspective- Akecheta! And that ending!!! I had goosebumps on my arms and tears of profound sadness intertwined with unbounded euphoria in my eyes! This is, by any scale, the best episode of Westworld, period!
Westworld: The Well-Tempered Clavier (2016)
The Piano doesn't murder the player, if it doesn't like the music.
One of the best episodes of the series, and the second best this season. Obviously, none before this can hold a candle to it except Trompe L'Oeil, but it is still outshone by The Bicameral Mind! Even then it is the best penultimate buildup to an exceedingly spectacular finale I have ever seen (except Who am I in Mr Robot). Twists galore, with special mention to an incredible performance by Jeffrey Wright supplemented by the eponymous 'mastermind' Anthony Hopkins.
