Not a bad film at all
11 September 2008
I rented this from Blockbuster through the mail, since my local store does not carry it. I rented it despite the low ratings here on IMDb, mainly after seeing the trailer for the movie.

This was not a bad film at all! In fact, I rather liked it. The story was interesting. There was plenty of suspense, and just enough gore. Sure, they might not have ended it so abruptly, but all the questions this movie leaves me with gives me something to think about. There is a lot left to the viewer's interpretation.

I enjoyed it, and recommend the movie to you. It won't win any awards, perhaps, but it is worth watching.

Great family movie
2 July 2006
This has been a family favorite since we first saw this on cable TV over 25 years ago. We wore out our first VHS, and I had to buy another tape from ebay a few years ago. I really wish someone would release this on DVD. It is a silly movie with a great cast, and no obscene language or nudity, which makes it suitable for children. It's hard to find a good clean movie like this nowadays. The relatively recently released Rat Race (don't you like my alliteration?) reminds me a lot of Scavenger Hunt, so if you like one, you'll probably like the other. The partnership between Richard Mulligan, who plays a taxi driver, and the late Scatman Crothers is particularly memorable to me.
