Lindy Chamberlain: The True Story (2020)
Warning about press and government lies
Bravo to Sam Neill to produce this doc, and play the husband in the theatrical version 'A cry in the dark'
Junk science and horrible press and politicians going after victims
The Dingo did it, case closed.
Greyhound (2020)
Farcical
Tom Hanks acting, great. Realism, non-existent.
Broad daylight attacks by U-boats against destroyer or any escorts on the surface, silly, just silly. Movie should be titled suicide squad.
Very similar to remake of Midway movie, With CGI you can have endless repetitive action with way too many shells fired.
The Lovely Bones (2009)
We need a non-director's cut
King King length film of a murder mystery. Cut 45 minutes of bad visual effects CGI and you have a better movie. Peter, sometimes less is more. At times I was expecting Hobbits to jump around in wooden barrels fighting. Good acting, bad wigs.
Nova: Great Electric Airplane Race (2021)
Practice what you preach
Reporter Miles O'Brien says we're in a climate emergency while he takes a gas guzzling/polluting helicopter trip to a desert airstrip.
Practice what you preach! Drive an electric car, no excuses. Don't fly around the world in jets for the story.
If the climate is in such jeopardy, stop your frivolous polluting. Being in the press doesn't give you the right to tell me how to live while you break all the rules.
#Hypocrite.
I've watched Nova for over 40 years. I can't tell you how much I've from PBS. That's in the past, now all they wanna do is push their political agenda.
Teach us science, not your beliefs.
The Kid Detective (2020)
Sorry, no fighting robots, but a good story.
Rented this based on red letter media recommendation. I got my money's worth over the 3 day rental, I watched it 3 times. Well written, incredible acting by Adam Brody. Funny, odd and original. Only criticism, Asian parent scene went on too long.
Closet seen is a classic.
Star Trek: The Savage Curtain (1969)
If you ever wanted to see Abraham Lincoln wrestle Genghis Khan, this is your episode!
Not sure why Abraham Lincoln is so dark looking? Look out he has a pointy stick! "Help me Spock". "Help me Jim"
Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Brexit! In Space!
Brexit! In Space! As exciting as it sounds. I don't think the writers have ever seen Star Trek?
Secrets of the Dead: Abandoning the Titanic (2020)
Another poor 'history documentary'
I used to really enjoy and respect this series. But 100 years after the titanic sinking, people are still trying to absolve the California for not rescuing the titanic survivors. Poorly researched and no basis in fact. Everyone involved in this episode should go back to school and get their GED. Embarrassing.
Contrast this to the great research done by Tim Martin.
Death Ship (1980)
If you ever wanted to see a movie where George Kennedy becomes a Nazi and kills people, this is your movie.
If you ever wanted to see a movie where George Kennedy becomes a Nazi and kills people, this is your movie.
Mystery Science Theater 3000 (2017)
Please stop talking over the movie!
Shut up already! More non-funny jokes faster only fails faster. Tried to watch 'The Land That Time Forgot'. Horrible banter, found the original movie on YouTube and watched it there. Tell Hollywood that bad German accents are just as inappropriate as all the other things we're not allowed to do in our 'free' society anymore.
The Darkness (2016)
Was desperately waiting for a real full-sized buffalo to attack in the house!
But no, we didn't get a buffalo attacks scene. Basically, if you want a story by uneducated Hollywood writers not understanding Native American culture, this movie is for you. Another poster already noted that Native Americans don't normally speak Spanish, especially shaman. Bacon and mom were good. Though better if attacked by a bison.
Ozark: BFF (2020)
Good episode but...,
I have to speak out about the complete lack of security cameras, security personnel and body guards. Marty has been kidnapped, Ruth almost beaten to death and no events are caught on security cameras or initially stopped by security personnel? I'm pretty sure casinos are ringed inside and out with cameras and other security measures. The FBI could have looked on the tapes and known for sure Marty had been kidnapped.
Casinos tend to handle lots of cash, that might warrant better security outside.
The Byrd kids lie outside at home alone on a trampoline after witnessing a truck massacre, not being able to look out their windows of their house due to cartel killers about, and the KC mob making constant threats.
Marty, Ruth and Wendy are routinely threatened with death but they never have any protection except brother Ben and the son's super fast drone.
Hire some muscle, some security guards!
Wendy stresses they must act like law abiding citizens. All law enforcement knows for sure they are crooks, besides the chumps at the foundation event, who are they fooling?
I lost track of how many times they've been to the sheriffs office in the past few episodes. Get a room there, save time.
They openly talk about criminal deeds and use real names in their houses, cars, businesses and on cell phones. There are FBI agents all over the casino. They would be folllowed and tracked in their cars, houses, cars and businesses bugged and their electronic devices compromised by the FBI.
Last item. The size of the riverboat is comically small. In this episode we can clearly see at the foundation event the tiny entrance, dock and boat at scale. The inside of the boat could barely hold bathrooms, let alone the cavernous gaming floor depicted inside.
Got that off my chest, but I like the show.
Star Trek: A Private Little War (1968)
Which came first costumes or script?
Was the script written after a semi trailer full of Davey Crockett outfits and bad blonde wigs turned over outside the studio? We have some deer skins and the worst wigs ever produced by man ,here, write a science fiction episode around this, and don't forget the monster with and ice cream cone on his head.
Bathtubs Over Broadway (2018)
If you hate musicals, this is still a great movie
I hate musicals, and I was going to use this movie to put myself asleep for a nap. But I found myself laughing and this ruined my nap. Touching to watch someone who enjoys a niche subject so much. Excellent musical ending.
The First World War (2003)
Great Doc
All aspects are very good. Music, narration, animation and script. Best WW 1 doc by far.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Did George Lucas write this?
Jar Jar deserves an Oscar compared to this. Soulless tripe of a bad comedy and poor action movie. I grew up watching the original trilogy which except for ESB haven't aged well. But TLJ is embarrassing. Disney, go stand in the corner and hang your head in shame.
