Road Hard (2015)
A movie about a mediocre 'comedian'
No wonder it is on i-flix! A movie about a comedian who makes all those boring, mediocre 'jokes' or one liners at stand up shows, has a rough personal life, says some ignorant things, and can't seem to figure out why an actual talent hunting agency won't hire him-how many of these do we need in Hollywood? Also, the characters in the film are so one dimensional in nature, it became cringe worthy at one point.
This adam carolla guy, does his facial expressions ever change? Even if the script is bad, you can expect to see some good acting, which is not present in the film either. Took me 3 days to finish it because I felt asleep everytime I watched it.
The movie got one thing correct though-you don't need any unique talent to be a comedy show host or have a comedy movie out in Hollywood.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
This film is a great tribute to the song Bohemian Rhapsody, and also Queen.
Millennials like us who were born in the 90s dont know much about Queen or didn't get to experience their performances. But this movie makes you want to be born in that time, doesn't matter what issues the world was going through at that time . A movie making you feel nostalgic about a time when you didn't even exist is not something that happens regularly. The performance of Rami Malek, the direction, and obviously the music, every single thing amazed me in a way that very few creations actually do. This movie is an art maybe due to the hard work of the cast and crew or maybe due to Queen's breathtaking music or as I feel, BOTH.
People here gave the movie a round of applause during the end credits. And I stayed until the very end and just kept staring at the screen in awe. What a movie!
I will end my review by saying that the utilisation of the song Bohemian Rhapsody was super creative and clever. Do watch it if you can people!
A Ghost Story (2017)
A BORING video clip where the ghost wears a bedsheet
A clichéd, monotonous and boring 'scary' 'film' where you get the typical storyline of the person dying, them lurking around in their own house, them haunting other people who buy this house in the future and them basically stalking their loved ones. Except here, they do these wearing the morgue's bedsheet. That's it, that is the film in a paragraph. There is also a mukbang in the film where the wife stress eats a pie her friend leaves for her after the death of her husband. Makers tried their best to initiate that feeling of helplessness of the dead and death but ended up being hilarious and bad.
Three of us watched it, one of us left the movie after 30 minutes to watch some scary youtube videos in order to compensate for the obnoxiousness of the said film, the second person literally got a headache and nausea due to the movie being extremely slow and dark. I somehow managed to get to the part where the ghost commits suicide, and after that point I had to stop watching it too and take a walk instead.
Geostorm (2017)
Bad science, bad production, bad direction, bad execution, SUPER bad acting, bad script and like BAD.
This is just another space film where the intelligent folks end up leaving a LOT of debris on the outer space, the ISS and other space stations catch fire, the 'hero' feels like they will die but eventually just uses an escape pod or soyuz to return to the earth.
In addition to that, this is just another disaster film where you will see India, China and Russia being affected but you won't see any countries from Africa or the rest of Asia making an appearance in the movie. But, for a few minutes we do get to see Afghanistan, Dubai and Brazil though. Success, I guess?
There you have it, the entire film in like 2 paragraphs.
In addition to that, you will also see Hollywood not having ANY idea about how space works. Also, add bad, cringe worthy acting to that.
What else, well yes, we do end up losing engineers from different countries in space because junior actors.
What a wastage of resources. Hollywood, there are lots of talented people out there who can actually write wonderful, innovative scripts. It is high time you gave them an opportunity rather than recycling old scripts.
