Where have all the screen writers gone?
20 February 2020
The movie starts out with a very good concept and at first I thought I was going to be in for a treat. But as the movie progressed, it got worse and worse and finally collapsed into a completely convoluted mess. Once again, another movie is released that spares no expense except when hiring writers. Apparently the strike by the screen writers guild several years ago still hasn't been resolved as Hollywood continues to hire 5th graders to write their stories.

A Little too Much Killing
10 September 2019
Thought this was a really good and well done action film. However, as much as I like killing in action films, There has to be a point to it. There was just too much of it to the point that it became mind numbing and it seemed like the whole point of the show was to see how high the body count was. This displayed a major weakness in the film. Once again, poor screen writers took what could have been a really good movie, and turned it into just an average movie. There has to be a reason to kill other than just to see how many we can kill in the allotted time. Thus it only gets a 6 rating from me.

Writers ruin what could have been a fantastic movie
5 June 2019
Ever since the perfection of CGI, Hollywood has come to the conclusion that if the special effects are good, then then movie is good. Thus, my 5 star rating. Half of the movie involved the monster battles and that gets 10 stars. The half of the movie where there is no monster presence gets 0. That averages out to a 5. Perhaps some day Hollywood will re-discover the lost art of screen writing and combine it with CGI to create a truly fantastic movie. But don't look for it to change soon. A lot of people came out of the theater visually dazzled by the special effects knowing that the story was awful but still thought it was a great movie. So they will continue make a lot of money creating these kind of movies and save on time & expense by not having to pay top dollar for a writer.
