Mr. Robot: eps1.1_ones-and-zer0es.mpeg (2015)
Second episodes are never the best
After a fantastic pilot, we have a slower episode, and I think it is way too slow... I usually like slow series, like Breaking Bad or Six Feet Under, but this episode is frustrating, because it doesn't add anything new to the story.
Nevertheless, Angela's story is the most captivating here. This CD mysterious man should probably have a bigger role in the future, and it is a reminder of the dangers of being hacked and spied by other people.
What I hope for the next episodes is more information about Tyrell, and a development in the relationship between Elliot and Mr. Robot, after this cliffhanger, that, unfortunately, was poorly executed.
Mr. Robot: eps1.0_hellofriend.mov (2015)
The beginning of an EPIC story
This pilot should have been the only one which completely captivated me (Breaking Bad's one was not as immersive as this one, for example). The main character, Elliott, is so interesting, and I surely want to follow his storyline. I'm sure that Angela, Tyrell, Darlene, and the mysterious Mr. Robot will have lots of character evolution too.
What makes this pilot (and this show) so good is the freshness of the story. It doesn't resemble anything else. The music, the cinematography, the filming style, make this show unique, original. And I like original stuff.
I loved how realistic this show is, how truthfully it portrays our current society, how it touches the problems that we have to deal with on a daily basis.
I'm going to keep watching this, definitely, and I can't wait to see what is the origin of Mr Robot. Highly reccomend this!
Six Feet Under: Familia (2001)
Afterall, they're a family
Oh god, another great episode.
Family. As the title tells, everything's about family. Brenda has her first dinner at Fisher's, starting with a very embarassing moment lol. Dinners provide the best moments in the series, because of the characters' awkward behaviours. That's why I started loving the show, because every character is weird and unique, such as us in our lives...
Apart from that, it was David's storyline that was the highlight: by talking to the dead's ghost, he gains courage to start facing his sexuality without remorse and fear. Finally, we get to see him doing well with Keith. It's a great evolution, and he is probably the most interesting character so far ...
Six Feet Under: The Foot (2001)
Searching for a foot
Wow, this episode made me laugh hard!
From the moment that the dead person arrives to the morgue, and a vengeful Claire steals a part of his body, every single moment is hilarious.
I loved how Claire was intelligent enough to find out her brother was gay, and Keith's speech about loving him is very beautiful.
Loved this one a lot. I'm starting to love this family...
Six Feet Under: The Will (2001)
Good character development
Every single character of the show gets lots of development and that's how I like it.
Nate and Brenda get closer, and their relationship, since it was so different from the standard, is really interesting. David continues keeping Keith away from his family, and keeps his secret for himself. Claire and Gabe also get closer, even though this storyline wasn't as engaging as the others. Ruth is a surprising character, with a very young soul, lol...
What is very great about this episode is how they manage to mix reality with their thoughts and feeling. Claire dancing "What a Little Moonlight Can Do" is an excellent moment I'll never forget.
The final scene is the top-moment: David finally mourns his father's death, after a mysterious Brenda takes him and his brother to the bus that killed him. The music is so sad and calming, and their performances are brilliant.
Really getting into this show!
Six Feet Under: Pilot (2001)
Best Pilot Ever
I thought no show could start better than "Lost" or "Breaking Bad". But I was wrong. First of all we are given these little funny commercial ads that are hilarious. The theme and the concept of this show wouldn't be easy to take in, since death is not something we are used to. But somehow, the episode makes a funeral funny. Of course there's so much more to it, but making someone laugh about death is something that really surprised me.
Apart from that, the characters gripped me to the show. I had never been so interested in TV characters this way with just an hour of television. Therefore, I was immediately addicted, and Six Feet Under would become my first TV priority for a long time...
Game of Thrones: The Rains of Castamere (2013)
IT'S SURELY THE BEST GoT EPISODE.... BUT NOT IN TV HISTORY
GoT is one of the best TV shows ever, no doubt in that. "Rains of Castamere" is obviously the best episode of the series. The last twenty minutes are extremely good, mainly because of the shock and sorrow one feels. The actors are amazing, so is the music. The deaths aren't what makes this episode so excellent. It's the foreshadowing that is visible on the character's faces. It's the tragedy that comes soon, threatening to destroy the stability of the show. Through Catelyn's eyes, we can see the fear of the unknown, the feeling that something's wrong. That something will end very badly. That's what I felt during the episode: a sense of disaster coming very soon.
And then, the shock. And then, the black credits rolling in absolute silence, when the only thing you can hear is your deep breathing, the only thing you can see is your shocked face in the reflection of the screen.
Well.... this one will be forever in our memories.
...
However.... don't dare say this is the best TV episode in its history. "Ozymandias", Breaking Bad, holds this title. Just because "Rains of Castamere" can't be as poetic and sickening as this magnificent episode from BrBa.
Breaking Bad: Ozymandias (2013)
DEFINITION OF PERFECTION
I thought perfect things were an illusion, that they couldn't exist. Not until I saw this episode... WOW.
Everytime I see this, my body shakes. It feels as if I can't control it. I feel drugged. I just stay there, breathless, motionless, staring at the TV. I can't talk nor shout, I'm hipnotized. Drawn into perfection.
There isn't a single scene from this episode with flaws. Every moment is perfect. Everything. Every slight reaction on the character's faces. Every object that the camera focuses on. Everything has a meaning. And that is why this show will always be the best ever. Because it is a show of slow poetry and reactions. Of character evolution. An evolution that goes on at the same pace we ourselves evolve.
"OZYMANDIAS" is a drug. I reccomend avoiding it, due to severe addiction. Be cautious.
Better Call Saul: Bagman (2020)
This show has evolved so much!
This episode is one of the best installments of the series, maybe even better than Chicanery. The poetic way this episode was filmed is excellent. Everything that defined Jimmy, from his goods to his personality, was lost during this struggle through the desert. The last shot where the space coat flies away is so meaningful: Jimmy finally releases the burden of his brother's death, and he is ready to become a new person - Saul Goodman. I think the next two episodes will be amazing, because everything will change now. THANK GOD I STARTED WATCHING THIS!
