Stóra planið (2008)
Poor try at humor
Well, I set out with a few friends to see this movie, we went an hour before the show started to get good seats. So as you can probably imagine we where exited to see this movie :). But that excitement soon turned to horror, this movie is a complete failure, it just try's to hard to be funny that its sad, the script is poorly written and relies to heavy on the actors to make up for it...
The only good acting in the whole movie was from Stefan C. Schaefer who was great, the plot was weak and even the "funny" scenes felt forced and unnatural, considering that the main actors are some of Iceland's best comedians it's well special...
I would not Recommend this movie to any one, because it try's to hard and never really delivers.
Running Scared (2006)
This movie really surprised me, Paul Walker totally came through
I just saw this movie yesterday, to be honest I didn't think much off it. But what I saw was brilliant. Paul Walker was really good as Joey Gazelle and Vera Farmiga as Teresa Gazelle was brilliant, you could really "see" the emotions. The plot was great, though I thought it was a bit "American" in some scenes but that played out nicely. Paul Walker is an actor I never thought much of, but in this movie he totally turned me around on that!
I really liked the style, felt just like you were reading a comic, pretty surreal I might ad! There is lots of violence and blood in this, yet they manage to keep it from getting senseless. The Mustang they use is really nice wouldn't have minded to see a bit more of wheel spin and car action, but hey cant get every thing you want!
