Decent Story Line, Low Budget, Chills
8 January 2017
Anthology of Terror NR/ 44 Min/ CC 2010 The Orchard/ English Director/Producer: Ryan Thompson Screenwriter: Matthew O'Day Stars: Stephen Grey Erin Courtney

This film promises, and delivers chills and scares. Low budget. Decent story lines.

The Archivist brings you four terrifying tales sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, and listening for every not-so-familiar bump in the night. Decent acting with believable story line. Robbery, murder and mayhem. Blood, guts and gore. Enjoyable tales for a cold, dark evening!

I give this Five Stars!

And a big Thumbs Up!

Wake the Witch NR/ 113 Min./ CC The Orchard/ English Director/ Screenwriter: Dorothy Booraem Stars: Rachel Lien Martin Kenna Pete Lipins

Debbie and her friends go to Wilderness Park, where they inadvertently waken a witch. Hanged for crimes as a witch, and bound to the park by chains, her curse comes to life.

Will Debbie and her friends survive? Or will they all die under the terrible curse?

Decent acting skills. Better budget shows.

I give this Five Stars.

And a Thumbs Up for story line.

A Good Storyline, Without the Scares
7 January 2017
I feel I'd be safe in saying that I am not the only one out there that has an eclectic taste in films, just as I have such in books. I watch a lot of cheesy, poorly acted films that still bring a great deal to the table. Such is the film I am going to review this evening.

The Last Light: An Irish Ghost Story NR/ 84 min's/ CC English 2011 Directed and Produced by: George Clarke Starring: JoL Crawford Peter Meehan Robert Render Vivian Jameson

This is a decent film as ghost story/supernatural films go. I understand it did win Robert Render an award at the Freak Show Festival in Florida. It is claimed to be "as scary as the Blair Witch Project". Don't hold your breath for that.

SYNOPSIS: Handy man, Rob, is hired to brick up an abandoned mansion. (This was actually shot on location, so look for the real deal here!) He is not alone in the old manse. Locked inside, he is forced to deal with the supernatural ghosts in order to survive. But not all who reside in the mansion are ghosts. In order to survive to get back to his wife, who is supposed to be packing for the belated honeymoon, Rob must go through a hellish nightmare and escape those who would keep him forever in the dark, decrepit building.

Will he survive?

This will keep you on your toes and waiting for whatever comes up in the next scene. Just don't expect talent, for the actors have none.

I give it Five Stars. (It has a great story line!)

And a big Thumbs Up!

You can find the film on Amazon.com, for $7.99 on DVD. It is also available to rent through Amazon for $4.99 -$7.99.
