Renegades (2022)
Entertaining and enjoyable from start to finish.
Firstly I am surprised at some of the harsh reviews from a few so called reviewers. Renegades is an action packed violent film about aging mercenaires coming out of retirement with some witty dialogue and plenty of gore to satisfy any bloody thirsty punter. The cast is excellent including fine performances from Ian Ogilvy, Billy Murray, Nick Moran, Paul Barber and Louis Mandylor as the villain Goram. Some lovely cameo performances from Danny Trejo, Stephanie Beacham, Michael Pare and of course the legendary Lee Majors. The movie is a great homage to action films of yesteryear including The WIld Geese. Another enjoyable film and winner from Producer Jonathan Sothcott. I loved it.
Invasion of the Not Quite Dead (2022)
A gore fest that will blow you away.
Right from the start of the movie you are hooked and dont want to miss a second. Not only is this a gore fest edge of the seats horror film but keeps you guessing from start to finish. Tony Lane over many years has created one of the most original independent horror films I've seen during the last 20 years and I've seen plenty. Also the acting is first class and the camera work and direction is top notch. The running time is not to long or to short and the music fits perfectly into the story. This indie horror deserves every accolade it receives and I for one cant wait for the offical release next year..
Muscle (2019)
ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL UK INDEPENDENT FILMS I'VE SEEN IN YEARS
I was fortunate to see Muscle at the BFI Festival in London and what a pleasent surprise it was.The story concerns Simon (Cavan Clerkin) an office worker who is going through a mid life crisis and decides to join a gym. It's not long before he meets Terry (Craig Fairbrass) a trainer who offers to get Simon into shape. When Simon's wife leaves home Terry moves in and that's just the start of his problems.
Muscle is a taunt, edgy psychological thriller with some brilliant comedy touches.Written and directed by the talented Gerard Johnson (Hyena) it's a film you cant look away from and has you hooked from start to finish.Cavan Clerkin gives a marvelous performance as Simon while Craig Fairbrass gives one of his best screen performances as the dark and chilling Terry not a man to mess with.
Well done to all involved.
