The Gone Game (2020)
Lockdown Murder Mystery!!!!
No one could have expected a series entirely shot during Lockdown and that too so good. I mean Kudos to the makers here, the script is well written and quite thrilling. Everyone has given their best especially Shweta Tripathi and this makes this series totally engaging from the first scene. Production quality is of high order and background score is nerve wrenching giving a haunting touch to the series making every frame impactful. Well directed and finely and crisp edited, this series is totally worth your time. Four episodes of 25 minutes each, watch it in one go, you will surely enjoy. "The Gone Game" streaming on Voot. A 4/5 it is.
Khuda Haafiz (2020)
A decent movie 2.5/5
Script is really weak and overstretched one, it could have been more crisp and short of 1hr 40min. Vidyut struggles with his expressions in many scenes and has done an okay job here, Shivaleeka Oberoi is just about "being there" in the movie, she was excellent in "Yeh Saali Aashiqui", Annu Kapoor is good and has done a fine job. What doesn't work is the script and the characters that doesn't have any depth, you should be feeling bad for Sameer but that doesn't really happens. We have seen these kinds of movies in Hollywood (Frantic, Taken) and in Bollywood too (Shivaay) where the lead actor is in search for their loved ones, they could have something different and more edgier staying in the same track. Songs are good and melodious. Cinematography is top notch and amazingly beautiful and the Ariel shots are eye filling and the actions scenes are well choreographed and some of them are really bloody and grotesque and are amazing to watch. Don't expect some laws of physics defying actions sequences. Direction is good by Faruk Kabir and he could have worked harder on the script more. So all in all, Khuda Haafiz is love story action thriller movie that really falls short for emotions and it's long runtime of 2hrs 13mins but at least you can give it a shot. A decent one time watch movie. 2.5/5
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020)
It deserves an IMDb rating above 8
Amazing screenplay, from the start to finish you won't bored for a single second. Pankaj Tripathi, Jahnvi Kapoor, Angad Bedi, Viineet Kumar, Ayesha Raza everyone has given their best. I must say, in 2-3 scenes Jahnvi Kapoor is really amazing, I know she is a starkid and all, but you can't deny that she has given a commendable performance. Father daughter bonding is so beautifully written and shown and there are many many things to applaud here. I have to mention the VFX by Redchillies are top notch and background music is impressive enough and the sound design and production quality is of really high level. It's a DHARMA movie, I know, but don't forget it's about Gunjan Saxena. Don't spread irrelevant negativity please
Pareeksha (2020)
Pareeksha 7/10
A sweet entertaining movie that really has a heart in its right place, every lead actor has given their best to make their character believeable and realistic. Adil Hussain blows your mind with his subtle performance, the last scene where he breaks out crying is enough you crying, Priyanka Bose is a delight to watch and Sanjay Suri is so underrated. Beautifully written and directed movie. Watch it on Zee5.
Dangerous (2020)
It's Really DANGEROUS !!!
It's good to see Bipasha Basu back, but I mean what is this??? Characters are so one dimensional, no depth. Direction is very poor and dialogues are like so childish and annoying, forced songs everywhere. I mean it's just a matter of 2 hours, at least the makers would have given us some good content which is actually engaging and can hooked us from the first episode. Acting is okay no one has given their truly 100%. It's good that it's available on MX Player for free to stream otherwise I wouldn't have spend a single penny for this DANGEROUS series .
