Anek (2022)
A different genre
It's a good movie, but not engaging. The director could have done better to keep audience glued. Ayushman does experimental movies and he is great. Andrea was good in her debut. The movie gives a humble message to all Indians that we are representing India first and every voice matters. Its a political movie and many might not like it. But again you cannot make everyone happy in this world, just do your job.
Goliath (2016)
Powerpacked Courtroom Drama
This series is just wonderful and I am not sure why the producers did not renew it for a new season looking at its popularity. Never seen Billy Bob on the small screen and he was just powerful in portraying the disgruntled, disturbed and yet idealistic lawyer Billy McBride struggling to do the right thing for everyone yet pushing away his loved ones from himself. The other half is pulled on extremely well by Nina Arianda as Patty. The plot unfolds by unwrapping the character of Billy in every season trying to finding himself while helping out helpless people fight the powerful in the court room. Overall it's just amazing to watch the plot but at times it becomes too slow and broods a bit too much on Billy's personal struggles with life . I just hope that they do not discontinue this, Billy Bob might be old enough for the role but they can always get a spin off of the series just looking at the number of people who love this.
Namte Namte (2013)
Pretty Lame
A pretty lame movie. Only Bongs nowadays can make such stupid movies in the name of intellectualism which has nothing but sadism. In the garb of art they present their own lame mindset. Gone are the days of Uttam Suchitra or Satyajit Ray and his likes in Bengali cinema. Welcome these self declared intellectuals.
X-Ray: Selected Satyajit Shorts (2021)
An insult to Ray
I am sure Satyajit Ray might have died in heaven watching this adaptation of his short stories. The depth, the thinking of Ray was crushed brutally in this rubbish thing which they call an adaptation or whatver.
Bombay Begums (2021)
Pathetic
Just pushing your own personal thoughts as art is what these Bollywood dollies are good at. The content is really pathetic and boring. Netflix is just streaming the worst C grade content for Indian markets
Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari (2020)
Good comedy
Loved the movie. Perfect comic drama. Manoj Vajpayee, Daljit Dosanj, Annu Kapoor, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Vijay Raaz will make you laugh out and Fatima Sana Sheikh was looking fabulous. Though it's a romantic comedy, the romance part was missing with no chemistry between Daljit and Fatima. Otherwise this is perfect for a hilarious weekend.
Mastizaade (2016)
Wahiyaat
Totally disgusting and senseless. And what more can you expect from actors like Tushar, Vir Das and Ritesh Deshmukh. No one gives them roles in good movies. The only reason to watch was Sunny Leone
Treadstone (2019)
Great spin off of the Bourne series
Good series with all the adrenaline gushing action. The plot slowly unravels itself and is sewn in through different stories of treadstone assets and Cicadas. Loved to see Shruti Haasan's international debut though the role was quiet insignificant and might have evolved in season 2. Unfortunate that the series season 2 was cancelled despite the series having an average rating of 4.4 on Google and 7 on IMBD
Vikings (2013)
Epic in one word
I am perhaps a rare Indian fan and admirer of this series and the Viking history. Beautiful series, though there are explicit scenes of violence and sex in the series, it's by far one of the best on TV and Netflix today. Ragnar Lothbrok, Lagertha and Ivar the Boneless played to perfection and power by the actors. The battle scenes are extremely well choreographed. The historical research is fantastic as the makers of the series bring alive a lost culture of the Nordes in modern times. This is epic in one word
Flesh (2020)
Brilliant in one word
A very sensitive and true topic which is ignored by everyone. Brilliant acting and script writing. If we can ignore Swara Bhaskar's political image, she is an actress with immense potential and she gave a power packed performance in this series. 10 stars full for this series
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020)
Good movie
I loved the movie for the part that they directed it well by providing the least possible dialogues to Jhanvi Kapoor and used her mediocre acting skills judiciously. The movie is not over blown with emotions or cheeky dialogues like usual Bollywood movies. I don't agree with the part that IAF was shown in bad light. They have shown the good and bad sides of people in an Organization when it comes to the topic of gender bias. Overall it's a good movies. Pankaj Tripathi is as usual Mr. Marvelous.
