The Green Knight (2021)
Frustrating non-sense. Boring and slow.
This movie left me feeling very frustrated. Before you think I'm just a hater, please know I usually enjoy most movies and leave pleasant reviews. But for this movie I had a hundred questions that were never answered. It had some nice looking scenes but that's literally it. It was truly painful to watch. Nothing ever made sense throughout this dreadfully boring movie. The harder I try to make some sense of it, the more meaningless it all becomes. This movie was abhorrent, repugnant, meaningless trash. If anyone tells you it's deep don't believe them. It tried so hard to be artsy but in the end.. It was only fartsy.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021)
A pretty 'meh' movie
The comedy felt forced.
Story was weak.
I tried to enjoy it but it was pretty difficult.
I wouldn't recommend this movie, wasn't worth the time.
I don't even have that much more to say about this movie but alas, I must meat the 150 character limit.
Poorly Drawn Lines (2021)
a GREAT translation from the comic!
I've loved the comic for several years and this show does it perfectly! Randomly turned it on Hulu one night. Very hilarious and ridiculous, I highly recommend it!
Life (2017)
Generic trapped on space station with alien movie, becomes rather disappointing and boring.
This movie had tons of potential. I really enjoyed the beginning of the movie and thought it was going to be great. Sadly I was kind of disappointed. The characters had absolutely no depth or back story. If you've seen any movie where there's a space crew trapped on a ship with an alien, you know EXACTLY what to expect from this movie. I was really hoping to see the alien wreak some havoc down on Earth, but you never get to..
I felt like most of this movie was the crew shutting doors behind them, trying to capture and isolate the alien, but it always found a way back in.
Overall it did have some good visual effects, at just a couple short moments in the movie. It was slow, predictable, pretty boring, and had shallow characters and poor dialogue. I'd skip this movie, unless you're ok with watching a pretty barebones and predictable 'space crew gets killed by alien' type of movie.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Hilarious, action packed, unique, great effects. Loved it.
I wasn't expecting much after the first Suicide Squad movie but I was very pleasantly surprised. A good mix of humor and action through the whole movie. A very unique movie filled with creativity. Even the main bad guy was unlike anything from other movies. On top of that it was absolutely hilarious. I loved it! HIGHLY recommended!
His House (2020)
Weak story, somewhat uneventful, relies on jump scares.
It wasn't that thrilling or interesting to me. At first it seemed like it was going to be unique, but it wasn't that special in retrospect. The ending was a big let down as well. Some of the special effects were good, but I cant think of any other positive notes to be completely honest. The story was pretty weak, and not much happens throughout. I'm not against jump scares here and there, but this movie relied on them too heavily.
Rent-a-Pal (2020)
Lonely, crazy, and a good flick
One of those movies that doesn't sound like much. Even after a thrilling watch I don't know how to put it into words. An eerily calm movie with a great ending. On paper the movie sounds boring but I was on edge the whole time. Less gore and action, more of a look on loneliness and how it can drive you crazy.
1917 (2019)
Slowest War Movie Ever- Yawn
Very slow moving movie, I love war movies but this was actually quite boring. A lot of the scenes feel very long and drawn out. I was fairly disappointed and found myself fighting the urge to turn it off. Yes, the ending was kind of cool. But it definitely wasn't worth sitting through the rest of the boring movie.
You're Not a Monster (2019)
Bland, short, predictable, boring
Feels like a cheap knock-off of Ugly Americans. Animation, voice acting, and humor all sub par.
It's got that certain quality where you instantly realize it's not going to be that great of a show.
Frankly put, it's just not that funny or original.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Plot Holes/ Forced Drama/ Ruined Characters
-spoilers!-
-Iron man had to go talk to his dad in the past, Thor had to talk to his mom, Hawkeye got to go see his old dead girlfriend.. How convenient that all the stones were in the past directly next to the main characters loved ones. Nobody had to go hundreds of years in the past or anything? Nope all the stones were just a generation away hanging out with your parents so you could go reconnect with them and get emotional.
-Tons of plot holes with time travel. We were told it creates a split in the timeline when they time travel, creating a whole new timeline. Sooo.. What happened to the old timeline they left behind to go back in time to defeat Thanos? Does this mean there is a timeline where all the superheroes abandoned the world to go back in time? And at the end when Captain America went back in time, shouldn't it have created a new timeline for him as well? Instead of him being able to meet up with them when he was old? Although this doesn't bother me as much as the other point of this review, it did make the story feel a little hollow and vague.
-Felt like there was only 1 single battle sequence in this movie. Aren't there usually a few smaller battles before the final epic one? It was like 2.5 hours of drama and feelings and "oh I miss my mom" and only about 12 minutes of good fighting. The fighting was also so cut up, trying to give every hero a great cameo, that no fight scene lasted longer than 10 seconds without being cut. Even after Iron man gives Thanos a long pre-fight speech it only shows about 2 seconds of fighting before they cut away.
-They kill Thanos in the beginning super easily, no effort, kinda upsetting. This made the entire previous movie feel like a waste. (even though it was a much better movie)
-The Hulk made me cringe. They've changed his character so drastically he's not even the hulk anymore. He doesn't get angry, he doesn't regenerate (either does Captain in this movie), he doesn't smash. He's always in green form. They explain all of the above with, oh I shot myself with some gamma rays. THEN LATER WHEN HE PUTS ON THE GLOVE THEY SAY THE HULK IS PRETTY MUCH IMMUNE TO GAMMA RAYS?! Ugh. He also mentions how he was trying to fight the hulk, but then he realized the hulk is the cure. What is he the cure to if he cant regenerate anymore? I miss the old Edward Norton Hulk to be completely honest.
-Personally, I hated Captain Marvel. I hate the actor, I hate the character, I hate her vague god like powers, I hate how she randomly shows up in this movie even though she wasn't in any of the others. I hate how she only shows up for a few minutes in the beginning and a few seconds at the end.
-Literally the best scene in the movie is at the very end, when Thor and StarLord are arguing about who's in charge of the ship.
