Zoe (2018)
Solid Film
I don't know why critics hated this film. i thought it was great, emotional and well directed. Yes it's a little slow but it makes you think and keeps you guessing.
Primal Rage (2018)
Good old fashion 80's horror
Saw the film last night. For a low budget film there are some good moments. Some parts work better than others and it's a little slow setting up the characters but when the creature enters the film that's when it works great. The action scenes are well done and on the most part the acting is good. It doesn't shy away from the gore like the films from the 80's. It could have done with some tighter editing here and there too. music is very good . all in all the director who wrote, directed, built and played the creature did a great job. hats off to him.
The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015)
Amazing
If you understand film making this is with out a doubt a master piece of film making. Kubrick-ish directing style, great music score and cinematography and acting! If your looking for action, special effects and car crashes move on.
It Comes at Night (2017)
Great tension
I loved this film. dark, moody, and tension which lingers with you after watching it. I read other reviews that people found it boring. I guess you have to think a little to get engaged which people don't do these days. People also said nothing comes at night, I guess they wanted a cheap monster move but this is about Human fear, survival and trust. I found this very realistic, good acting and directing.Thumbs up from me.
Head Trauma (2006)
Visually Haunting
Really enjoyed this film. I know it's a low budget horror film but it's one of the best I've seen in a while. Good acting, music, editing, photography and directing. There are a few scenes that the acting wasn't as strong as the rest of the film but they are short and the rest of the film makes up for it. The story is engaging for the 84 minutes. I found some of the scenes very creepy and well crafted. The ending was a surprise and I didn't see it coming but it was a nice twist. I wonder when we are going to see the director , directing bigger budget films? Hopefully soon. Gets me excited to make another film.
Alone with Her (2006)
Creepy
Excellent.
The director Eric Nicholas creates a creepy atmosphere throughout this film about obsession with a very original directing film style. The audience is immersed into the role of an observer watching a very convincing Ana Claudia Talancón as a young women living alone in a small apartment who is being stalked by a very disturbed Collin Hanks. The acting is solid and the film keeps a sustained tension throughout. Also not to overlook the script written by Eric Nicholas which is well structured for this kind of film and delivers a surprising, haunting ending.
Highly recommended!
