The Morning Show: Confirmations (2021)
Where are we going?
I have no idea what direction this season is going in. Summary of the season so far: Alex gets yelled at by everyone she speaks with, Bradley is a teenager in an adult vessel, Chip is a shell of Season One Chip, and there is no collective issue all the characters are looking to resolve. Did the show get new writers? What a bummer.
Malignant (2021)
It's hilarious
I went into this cold. Didn't watch any trailers, didn't read the premise, but saw James Wan on the movie poster (who I absolutely love). Not gonna lie I was entertained. Confused once the title card drops with hardcore music. Thought I was about to watch a Liam Neeson hand to hand combat flick. Instead we got a movie about women with bangs making absolutely terrible decisions. Best part of the experience was enthusiastically heckling my TV. Look, it's fun but it's not good. If I'm being honest I'm giving this movie a 4/10 because I'm a guy that thinks his taste is high-brow.
Mr. Corman (2021)
No clue where the story's trying to go
It's stylistic and starts off with a cool premise. But after watching the first 3 episodes, the plot is mundane, the comedy doesn't land, and the characters are mediocre. The challenges Mr. Corman faces are very low stakes.
Why Women Kill (2019)
Season 2 - Big girls need loving too
I love how realistic the love triangles are with the big women and straight up hunks.
Dave: The Observer (2021)
From favorite to show to complete letdown
I just can't wrap my head around what's going on this season. It's missing the charm, joy, and cohesion from Season 1. I know it's technically early in the season but the story isn't there. I'm still rooting for Gata...please don't mess him up this season like the other orginal characters.
Made for Love (2021)
Inconsistent
Motivation for the characters were inconsistent. I almost lost all interest when Hazel has a chance to remove the chip but she refuses to in Ep 7. The concept of the show is great but the comedy doesn't land and the storytelling leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like an observation of the characters, rather than a progressing plot with an actual goal in mind.
