The Final Alliance (1990)
not bad at all
I love movies about motorcycle gangs like Mad Max, Stonecold or Beyond the Law / Fixing the Shadow. There is something really evil and scary about motorcycle gangs and it's for sure, that hero always has to walk trough the hell when he fights them. Final Alliance is not as good as Mad Max a Co., but it isn't so bad. It starts with 5 motorcycles and pretty cheap fight scenes, but soon it gets better. There is a lot of explosions, one pretty cool action scene (bikers attack Hasselhoff's farm, but he planted many mines around), funny dialogues and acting. If you expect Schindler's List, you will be disappointed, if you expect funny B actioner, you won't. I missed only some rape scene, but you know, gentleman Mitch Buchanan is on board, so I wasn't surprised, there isn't any.
Brak (2002)
Something about this movie
At first, I apologize for my English. This movie was made in Film School Zlin, small private film school in small czech town Zlin, best known for international festival of films for youth and children. There was a first round of screenplay contest (first round was only for students of the school) and student Karel Spevacek won it (I guess he hadn't many competitors, because it's really very small school), with his script, parody of his favourite movies like Pulp Fiction, Professional etc. The story was about three young guys trying to get rid of corpse of dead hooker. Nothing original, but there are not many parodies of foreign movies and not many movies for young people like American pie. It was very cheap movie (about 5 milions czech crowns) and nobody was very proud about end result. Actually, when I started to study on the school few years later, our teachers refused to talk about the movie. The movie is pretty bad, but as I said, it was something new, it was very cheap and made by students. But if you like another cheap original czech movie, zombie comedy Choking Hazard, you will like Brak too, I guess, because they look very similar. The screenplay contest (which was supposed to take place each year) took never place again and nobody knows where Spevacek is now. Few years later, movie Snowboardaci/Snowboard kids showed, it is possible to make successful movie in American style for young people in Czech republic.
