Coolie No.1 (2020)
Everyone who acted in this movie should officially retire from acting
This movie made a complete mockery of Govinda's original film. I can't believe someone can actually make this type of crap.
Sara and Varun should stop starring in movies and save us.
Pink (2016)
PINK is dark, brave and a much needed film
PINK is what everyone needs to watch and understand today. Not just India, the world needs to stop stereotyping and objectifying women.
The movie starts off with three girls, scared and terrified by the incident that was about to change their lives. What happens next are the instances that take place everyday in our country with working women, college going girls, models and almost every urban girl. In a country where political influence can buy anyone, a women is treated as an object. They are judged by what they wear, whom they hang out with and where they work.
The movie is backed by some powerful performances. Taapsee shines as Minal, she is brilliant as a modern, independent and brave woman who isn't shy from admitting publicly that she isn't a virgin. She puts up a brave act. Her friends played by Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Taring support her well and together they all are great. One cannot not praise Mr.Bachchan. He plays every character with finesse and this isn't an exception. His character raises several questions that we as a society should think on. Although initially I kind of hated him in the movie but as the movie goes on you realize how aptly his character was written. Everyone else (Angad Bedi, Piyush Mishra etc) does justice to their role.
Director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury does full justice to the story. He puts up a great show and gives us a reality check of our hypocritical society where women are judged every now and then. The background score is decent. Although the songs aren't great, they suit the story and go with the flow. The dialogues are great and the screenplay is brilliant. What I liked most about this movie is that it is relatable, it is what many women face today. There's nothing new about this movie because this is reality and everyone of us knows it but this has to be presented to change people's mind. And it is undoubtedly presented very well. I hope people watch this movie and realize that its time to change our society.
Airlift (2016)
Must Watch. The untold story of the biggest evacuation ever.
AIRLIFT, what an incredible movie. Raja Krishna Menon has efficaciously presented the biggest evacuation ever.
Akshay Kumar delivers a power-packed performance. Ranjit Katyal is undoubtedly his best performance ever. I wonder why does he do movies like Tees Maar Khan and Singh is Bling, when he can make movies like AIRLIFT ,Baby and win our hearts. Nimrat Kaur is equally hot and talented. I am her fan now. She plays her character with such an ease and finesse, that you start wondering if she actually is like her character in real life. I wish she starts doing more movies now. Not just the lead cast, even the supporting cast has done a brilliant job. Special mention to Innamulhaq who has played an Iraqi major and Prakash Belawadi who plays a not-so-common man.
Raja Krishna Menon, the director deserves an applause for making such an amazing movie and also for sticking to the reality and not making AIRLIFT a typical bollywood one. I, however was expecting a more impactful climax, but I guess for that the director had to move a bit from reality which would have diluted the essence of the movie. So, I won't complain about it.
The background music, the songs (Soch na sake) , the screenplay everything is perfect.
This movie has to be in your MUST WATCH list. This movie shows that patriotism runs in our blood, no matter which part of the world we settle in.
Piku (2015)
Sweetest movie of the year!
Completely blown away by PIKU...one of the finest movies in recent times... A simple..yet realistic tale of a father-daughter relationship.. Genius depiction..truly amazing..This movie has many those 'small' elements, we see in our everyday life...experience them...live them..enjoy them...You'll relate to every element of the movie... And what a star cast ...Finest actors have come together for this gem..n they haven't disappointed at all!!!!
Amitabh B..Irffan...they play their characters with such ease that you start believing them as their characters...Their acting shows, how great as actors they are....
N at last Deepika...gorgeous...sweet...cute..n what not...her each movie n each performance makes me love her even more heart emoticon ..Looks like PIKU was written for her...she as PIKU is adorable..you just simply cannot take your eyes off from this independent...loving...caring...daddy's girl!!! But she's got guts too!!! ...
This movie will make you laugh....make you cry...make you love your parents even more... One of the best movies of the year!!!! A must watch...
Hamari Adhuri Kahani (2015)
Better to watch just the songs on YouTube. The movie's a waste of time.
Why Vidya why?? what made you choose Hamaari Adhuri Kahani..... This movie tries to show how intense love can be...n goes over the top....the dialogues are ridiculously insane.....n at times turn hilarious....god damn!!! who speaks that way!!!
HAK lacks logic....its saturated with melodrama....its sad....over the top emotional....the film has a decent story-line but,it needed to be executed well!!! the meaningless dialogues n logic-less screenplay eat the essence of the story .....
This Mohit Suri movie doesn't quite hit the right note....I think he just wanted to prove that Aashiqui2 n Ek villain were better movies....talented actors were totally wasted in this movie......The only good thing about this movie apart from the songs was......well! ...The End!!!!....
Tamasha (2015)
Amazing chemistry, beautiful locations but an abstract storyline
Imtiaz Ali tries to make a little HATKE story...I wouldn't say he succeeded at it as the story looked abstract..The way he presented the story is different, but the message Imtiaz tries to convey is predictable..
Ranbir is an outstanding actor and he proves it again in Tamasha..He is at his best...
And Deepika..she looks absolutely stunning and gorgeous...She is the TARA everyone would want to fall in love with..Deepika fans would be disappointed because she is missing in the second half(she is there for just 10 mins). She doesn't have a full fledged role in the movie as the movie is entirely about Ranbir...
Tamasha is a one time watch for Deepika & Ranbir's chemistry, the beautiful locations and obviously A.R.Rahman... I loved watching Deepika & Ranbir together again..they are adorable as a couple and their chemistry is amazing..
Had the story been a little better, this movie would have been a huge success.
Bajirao Mastani (2015)
Brilliant performances, vibrant sets and breathtaking songs
Stellar performance by the entire cast... Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka have set a bar for everyone in the industry... one cannot imagine anyone else playing Bajirao,Mastani and Kashibai ...... The sets are grand and a visual treat. The colors are vibrant and eye- appealing.
This is Ranveer's best performance till date... even better than Lootera...he must have put in a lot of efforts.. his Hindi-Marathi accent is perfect... he perfectly nails at it. He is believable as Bajirao. In the end scene, he is at his best and is simply superb in the movie.
Deepika as Mastani is splendid. She plays a fierce warrior, a beautiful princess and an intense lover. She is gorgeous in every frame. Her fight scenes, her dances, her dialogues, everything is perfect. She is flawless. She is an actor whom I truly admire. She is the best when it comes to her work, but she still manages to get even more better with every movie. #Respect
And of course Priyanka Chopra, she looks every bit maharashtrian in the movie. Its hard to believe that she is a punjabi. Her performance is emotionally draining, through her one can feel Kashibai's pain, her emotions, her happiness. She is perfect.
Tanvi Azmi as Bajirao's mother is brilliant in every scene. She is strong, strict. Not only the lead actors, but the supporting actors(Mahesh Manjrekar, Milind Soman, Aditya Pancholi, Vaibhav Tatwawadi) deliver a mind-blowing performance. The songs are breathtaking, and too beautiful. The background score gives you goosebumps.
There are certain intense scenes in the movie that leave a mark on you; they are beautifully and brilliantly shot. One of such scenes is where Mastani tries to protect her son, and that scene is freaking awesome. It is amazing. More than the story, the performances complement the movie. This is a must watch movie. Watch it for the cast's performance, the music, the sets and the brave Mr. Bhansali.
