Dead Kennedys: The Early Years (1987)
Could be longer...
This could be a 10 star movie, but the live videos are so few... there are just 9 live videos, that in fact come along with an extreme and genuine attitude from the early years of the Dead Kennedy's history, but there could be much more live videos here, and other footages similar to that one where Jello is running to mayor, and, to compensate the few live videos that are, there could be some kind of Discography and biography, but there are none...
So, i give to this a 8, cause of the attitude that Jello and the rest of the band and public are showing, and because i like this kind of raw and "home maded" live footage demonstrated here.
Shin seiki Evangelion Gekijô-ban: Air/Magokoro wo, kimi ni (1997)
The apogee of animated movies
I must say that I am a great fan of the Neon Genesis Evangelion's series, it is the only anime that I really get addicted through times. and in fact when I saw the original ending of the TV series I became a little bit confused, 'cause that ending is, in majority, some kind of disturbing reflection from Shinji, but if you did see the episodes till that one, it just didn't feet there, it was missing something to make the "saga" complete, some kind of link, and this alternate ending it is just that "link" that was missing.
In this movie there is a enormous emotional flowing, where all kind of extreme feelings get together in the best way possible; we absorb the most sincere demonstrations of despair, grief, lost of hope, emotional and physical pain, insanity, and all together with some subtle moments of melancholic happiness. This "emotional flowing" haves a perfect background of images, actions and sceneries, and there are some complex ideas that force us to reflect about our own lifes after seeing the dramatic and ultimate ending from this movie, so I can say that this is one of those deep and profound movies that lead us to despise the cold and obscure truth of the futile existence that humanity is taking.
The battle scenes are very rare, but the one with Asuka must be the most intense scene of battle made till the present, the way that it was done showed to us the greatness of the EVAs, and the background with the classical music from Johann Sebastian Bach made me speechless while the S2 series were trying to destroy EVA.
So, resuming, this movie is simply the apogee of perfection; I don't think that I'll see something that even can compete with this.
