Zombie Perfection
If you're in the mood for Rob Zombie horror, you're in the right place. This has the signature gore, filth & depravity of a typical Zombie film but doesn't follow the typical House/Devil's formula - you still get Zombie's muse/wife/partner Sherri who is wonderful as this film's final girl. It's gross, gory, and funny- what you expect from this Halloween flick. You actually care about these characters who clearly love each other despite the gritty industry they're involved in. A commentary on class as well with the Malcom McDowell character, who is another Zombie fave. I am genuinely afraid for Richard Brake .
Malignant (2021)
Disappointing
I had high hopes for this James Wan vehicle. But man was I disappointed. The whole movie feels cumbersome, disjointed, confusing with a complete lack of catharsis. American Horror Story covered this trope in season 3, Freak Show. They fleshed it out in a few episodes vs. An entire feature. Seems like a lot of money was spent on a film that looks so cheap. This is not on the level of Saw, Insidious, or the Conjuring.
Iron Jawed Angels (2004)
Well done.
I get chills watching so many of these wonderfully directed and acted scenes. Great portrayal of these brave and steadfast women who paved the way for all of us.

Nova Scotia Holiday
I didn't realize where this was filmed until halfway through, although it has the laid-back, friendly stench of Canada all over it from the get go. This literally made me fall in love with Nova Scotia, a place I've never been but plan to visit very soon. Cute, witty rom-com with a non-traditional lead actress and charming supporting cast. This is a movie you watch when you're wrapped up in a blanket with several glasses of your favorite grocery store wine. If the Handmaid's Tale doesn't convince you to love Canada, this movie certainly will. Melissa Bergland is a damn delight and I now follow her on social media. Watch this with a slice of blueberry cream cake in your wet t-shirt.
